weekly update

every single day when i drop and pick emi up

makai loves to play with these animals.

i've also notice makai wears this shirt alot.

makai generally between 10:30-11:30.

so i wasn't shocked when he fell asleep on the way to pick emi up.

but i was shocked i was able to take him out

went in and picked her up and put him back into the car.

all while there are 20 kids talking and laughing in her class.

i was even more surprised he stayed asleep then went home and laid him down.

both emi and him have been great transfer babies.

i am hoping when emi starts kindergarten at 11.

that i can come home and put him straight down for a nap 

and have him sleep the entire time until i have to pick her up.

currently i keep him up until 1...

he sleeps anywhere from 3:30 to 4:45.

why did i not think of this sooner?

we got a new couch so we cleaned up the living room.

once of those things was to wipe down the kid chair.

they seriously both cleaned the chair for close to 20 minutes.

we went swimming over the weekend.

makai loves to swim and has no fear of going under water or jumping in.

gma took emi out for chinese food and leatherby's one day.

every time we leave leatherby's she always poses on the bike rack.

i never have taken a picture but i am glad gma did.

well, it finally happened.

makai started taking his pants off a couple weeks ago.

i mentioned to eddie that it's only a matter of time.

emi would have never done this.

i actually had just gotten back from getting some zip pj's.

when he wasn't asleep at 1:20 i knew something was up.

i had no words when i walked in. he was so grossed out.

the diaper was clean by the way.

that was not fun to clean up!!

so not makai is banished to a onesie 24/7

which he isn't too happy about.

even with the chairs on the table he still finds a way to climb up.

makai knows he can't jump on the couch anymore.

so he decided to be a cat...even saying meow as he did it.

he thought he was so funny.

i left these pictures last. they probably deserve it's own post.

but i am just clumping them in.

especially since there are so few and they are just of eddie.

we went on a 3 day getaway.

we really wanted to go to hawaii or somewhere with a beach

our second choice was SF but non seemed to fix in our budget.

a few costly expenses lately blew right through our cushion 

so we opted for reno!

i didn't care what we did, i just wanted a break.

first thing we did was eat at the buffet.

eddie really wanted to do these asian foot massages we have here 

which are dirt cheap for a whole hour.

well reno had nothing like it, so eddie was looking over the spa menu.

he cracks me up! he decided $150 for an hour massage wasn't worth it.

we ran some errands, as eddie had to pick up some golf balls

he had a golf tournament to play in on monday.

we had never been to scheel's, eddie was in heaven.

we had an awesome view.

eddie loved to watch the parking lot. the fight for the parking spot.

it was so nice to do nothing.

we swam in the pool both days.

each night we had gelato and people watched.

and we loved to watch people waste their money.

we thought is was so strange people were getting massages while playing poker.

we had a great 3 day getaway. the kids didn't miss us 

and we didn't really miss them. 

hopefully our trip to hawaii won't be too far away.

if anything it helped motivate us to save for that trip.

weekly update

eddie had to work out of town one night.

for a whole week emi asked me when he was leaving.

she loves to sleep in our bed when he is gone.

she literally was out within seconds, well less than a minute.

one morning while emi was at school we met stephanie at the zoo.

we were a little early so i let makai out of his seat.

this is his face he makes when i ask to take a picture.

after playing on the playground a while he wanted his picture taken.

it was so nice to go to the zoo.

makai loves reptiles so we were able to walk through

without bossy emi ushering us along cause she hates it.

the lizard! ok, so i noticed this lizard on some one's roof

it is on the street of emi's summer school.

the entire time at the zoo i felt horrible i didn't call animal control 

or knock on their door to let them know it got loose.

well when i picked emi up, it was still there.

i am no lizard expert so i assumed it stayed in the same place.

well after a few days it never moved so i figured it was fake.

but why? seems so strange to me to put that on a roof.

well one say someone was walking by and i stopped and asked.

he said the old guy that lives there put it there so people would slow down.

i am assuming this was before the speed bumps were put in.

makes sense though. emi still looks for it daily.

neither of the kids ate this dinner. makai happily drank his milk.

tanner came for dinner for a couple of nights as my parents were out of town.

so i cooked his favorite things, including hawaiian haystacks.

oh emi. not sure where her silly face came from.

but she wouldn't be silly and makai wouldn't hold still.

devil child. since this picture i have had to put all the chairs up.

he just constantly climbs anything and everything.

eddie got a huge promotion at work a couple weeks ago.

when gma and gpa came back into town we went to celebrate.

this night was a such a fun night. 

we went to old town and walked around.

we ran into a bunch of dancers, like pop and lock/ghetto dancing.

the wait to eat was like 45 minutes, so watching them killed the time.

 we must love donuts.

eddie had heard about a local donut shop near emi's summer school

that had these donuts we love called cronuts.

we had a similar version when we lived in KY that were sooooo good.

so i picked some up and some donut holes for makai.

miss emi gets bags of clothes for a woman eddie works with.

she has 3 girls and her youngest is 2 years older than emi.

well emi wears a 6/7, so this girls clothes usually fit her perfect.

well the story to this hello kitty shirt is, 

is this was the youngest daughters favorite shirt 

and cried when her mom made her give it away.

so we look a picture of emi and texted the mom so she could show the girl.

weekly update

after babysitting last week both makai and emi have wanted a bottle.

makai i think took one bottle his entire life.

emi maybe less than 10 bottles.

this child...climbing tables and taking his pants off.

i walked away for a second and he thinks it's hilarious.

a picture without her paying attention. 

i wish she would sleep in, she is always so slow in the morning.

she just wants to watch tv, then an hour later eat.

where makai is up for all day and ready to eat the minute he is up.

emi loves when she gets two donuts stuck together.

tanner and gpa wearing their germany jersey's.

we had a fun time watching the game.

makai refused to nap in the pack n play.

so i went and laid on the floor with him.

i wish i could sleep on the floor that comfortably.

emi started summer school and is loving it.

her most favorite thing so far, is the chocolate milk from lunch.

emi is signed up for afternoon kindergarten.

i'm glad i did afternoon cause getting everyone ready by 7:30

has not been very fun at all.

this happens when we are early to pick emi up.

i let him out of his seat and the first thing he does

is hop over to her seat and read her books.

gma came and picked emi up one day.

emi did all her favorite things.

jamba, chinese food for lunch, costco samples.

then she went swimming and worked on her new coloring book.

all while makai napped...which also meant i napped.

weekly update

since emi is going to a transitional kindergarten summer camp.

she basically had 2 weeks before camp starts and 2 weeks after before school starts.

so the next thing on her list besides camping was fairytale town.

even though i have ducked under that walkway multiple times

i somehow 'forgot' and totally hit my head walking in.

i was looking at my phone to see how the picture turned out.

except for it was super bright and i had to shade my phone with my hand.

wasn't funny then but it is now.

makai is so brave and i had multiple parents commenting

on how makai has no fear. he was doing all the high slides.

this specific slide emi is watching as a mom had to come get her 4 year old down.

makai was super possessive of the train. 

any kid that came near or on he would scream.

it was funny and embarrassing at the same time.

after going onto the crazy maze a billion times they stopped for a snack.

makai will not even look my direction when asked.

he is too busy taking it all in.

gma and gpa bought makai a train table for his birthday.

which is in the end of august. can't believe he is almost 2.

makai loves it and has been playing with it daily.

makai can't say train or even choo choo...

but this is his sign for train.

we were babysitting this night, a last minute thing.

eddie wasn't happy to have to watch other people's kids.

but what was funny is the baby loved him and only wanted him.

this child is the reason i have gray hairs.

i walked away for a second and he pulled the plate of watermelon over.

took a bit from each one.

oh and i think this is his new smile, with his mouth open.

so a few days after fairytale town the kids woke up sick.

i am assuming that is where they picked up the germs

as we weren't really anywhere else. 

makai started coughing in the middle of the night, like a croup cough.

after going into his room to settle him down every 20 minutes.

i decided to just bring in our bed...bad idea.

yes he slept better but i didn't sleep at all.

the next morning after our rough night i bathed makai.

emi really wanted to take a bath with him.

but i was trying to keep them separated since she had a runny nose.

so he was coughing, she had a runny nose...i assumed two different colds.

well, then makai farted/had diarrhea in the tub.

here she is saying she is glad she didn't get in the tub.

me wishing i would go back to bed and start the day over.

emi ended up having a cough and runny nose.

while makai was a hot mess, at least he wasn't throwing up.

he wasn't sleeping in his crib very well.

so i slept with him in our bed.

this was after like 5 hours...he was so fidgety and slept all over the bed.

emi enjoying her new favorite meal.

veggie spaghetti. she literally requests it 3 times a week.

gma drove eddie's car, which mean eddie drove the other car.

which meant we drove gma's car...

he fell asleep every time we left the house. still not feeling good.

tv addicts. i swear they would watch tv all day if given the chance.

this is what happens every night when i announce it's time for bed.

makai hides from me and emi helps him.
