i'm just clumping the last few weeks together
cause i can, it's my blog :)
no he isn't pooping his pants.
he just makes the greatest faces.
they are so fast that i rarely capture them.
this was the first time he ever sat in the highchair.
you see he hates his car seat and i went out to lunch with some friends
and figured if i wanted to eat or be present in the conversation
i better do something with him.
i put him up to the table and helped emi at the salad bar
when i came back he was chewing/sucking on the edge of the table.
no one even noticed or intervened, i was so grossed out.
this boy and his cheeks. i love them
he loves to suck on my hoodie strings.
he actually likes to chew on the strings and play with the zipper.
who needs toys when your wearing a hoodie.
this happens frequently and i love it.
it usually happens every morning and she isn't paying attention
he has great aim.
on our way to music makers.
lately she is insistent on bringing her own instrument.
she was in a good mood, so i took advantage and asked for a picture.
any other day/time, she would have told me to go fly a kite.
there they are. they are actually poked through more than that now.
i think the ones on the sides are working their way up.
i don't see anything coming on the top...yet.
this was the same day we went to lunch.
he wasn't sure where to look first.
i have used it since grocery shopping, which was awful.
he was tired and arched his back and yelled until i laid him down
then he just played with is feet.
good thing i was in walmart cause it looked ghetto.
my sleeping angel.
some days 7:30 can't come fast enough for me.
i love when she sleeps. she doesn't talk back or give me the evil eye.
lately she has started crying outbursts if she doesn't get her way.
which just lands her in her room for some quite time.
my favorite is when she yells from her room all mad that she's calmed down.
when by her tone she obviously had not.
emi describing what makai's cheeks look like.
she is hilarious.
emi is always commenting on how chubby his cheeks are.
sigh! so i got her out of her jammies.
only for her to change into her swimming suit.
how does my almost 4 year old wear a 6?!?
she loves to wash dishes. so instead of fighting her to get into the shower
i let her wash dishes and she was tickled pink
she could get as wet as she liked since she was in her swimming suit.
these two. silly.
are we mean parents that we don't let emi play in the play structures
at fast food joints.
she doesn't even ask to play cause she knows the answer
so many germs, and hand and foot was going around.
so i bought all these games at x-mas at a discount
and have been saving them in emi's closet
for her to earn them from good behavior.
she does better at being rewarded for good behavior
well i have yet to implement this 'behavior system'
one too many things going on at the moment.
well something happened where i had to barter with her
and i said she could play a game from her closet
something she had no knowledge of.
well i came home to find all of the games down and out.
she decided to keep break the ice out.
since then we have started our good behavior chart.
she earns about 2 'good things' a day.
well eddie babysat one night and i noticed an extra heart was colored in
i asked what she did, so i could talk with her about it in the morning.
he said: nothing, she just wanted to color a heart.
grrr...he didn't listen to what good behavior chart was for.
he knows now :) and no more hearts have been colored on, just cause.
eddie got tickets to PBR through work
we had invited some friends but they backed out at the last minute
so we invited our babysitter :) and left emi with gpa.
makai came along, hope he didn't experience hearing loss from it
it was so loud, but a lot of fun to watch.
while we were at pbr, gpa was helping emi go blind.
emi loves to wear gma's extra pair of glasses
she does look cute.
he can't sleep unswaddled and wakes the second
the car stops, someone stops rocking him, etc...
but can sleep unswaddled on someone.
doesn't make any sense to me.
emi was so nice to babysit for me while i set up the blue and gold dinner
he yelled most of the time and emi just wanted to run around
took way longer than anticipated but it all worked out.
this month we are learning about bodies at music makers.
emi is loving it. she is one of the older ones.
and sometimes is the only one doing the activity.
at one point i swore she was picking her nose
turns out her mustache was itching her.
had to take a picture of this, because it never happens
but since then, he has fallen asleep many times
without crying in the car seat. maybe he is learning to like it? doubt it.
emi runs straight to the computer when we go to the library.
sad she isn't interested in books.
she plays for a little bit on the computer then picks out books.
this is what my mornings look like.
a lot of times if makai wakes up between 4-5am
i will either put him in his swing
or bring him into bed with us, cause he thinks it's time to wake up if not
well he will always go back to sleep if sleeping in my arms
and every morning as i'm trying to catch a few more zzz's
ppppsssssssst!! when are you gonna wake up!?!
which then wakes makai up....so then we all wake up for the day.
emi was trying to "nurse" makai.
he was not having that.
i love that she thinks his 'abuse' is funny right now
one day i am sure it won't be.
this was the first time makai has ever fallen asleep
while out to eat in his car seat
it was so nice to eat in peace.
i love makai's concentration face, cracks me up.
he is doing so good sitting up, so close.
and his poor hair. you can see how thin it is except on the top.
it's kind of funny looking and it's wavy. poor guy.
well we are staying.
after a few awkward texts and conversations we get to stay put
the son getting married texted me and asked if we planned on moving out by april
i texted him back we had no plans to move and left it at that.
we will live here forever, ha!!! cheap rent, no neighbors, personal playground and pool
he never responded. i felt bad. he is their kid.
he is also 30, and should move out from under his parents wings.
so we chatted with doug and kay and they explained
that they told him they need to keep their word
when they told us we could stay as long as we needed/wanted.
i still felt conflicted, that they didn't want us but had to keep their word.
i must have not felt too bad for long cause the next day i went out
and got mr. makai a bath for the sink.
he isn't so sure what to think. what's nice is we can bring it to gma's.
as our other bath thing hooks to the edge of the bath
and wouldn't work on their soaker tub.
eddie went to a basketball game one night
and emi was sad he wasn't going to be home
he told her is was ok, cause i would take her to mcdonalds for dinner.
i would!? so i explained i didn't have any money so we couldn't go
so what did she do? got her money out.
which in the end was just enough for our ice cream date after mcdonalds.
makai had a case of the giggles and screams while at mcdonalds.
luckily he was ok with staying in his car seat while we ate.
no one else ate in peace from his high pitch screams
but i'm sure they enjoyed his laughs.
twiddle dee and twiddle dum.
eddie is relaxed about putting emi to bed.
and will let her stay up and watch tv with him
he doesn't have to deal with the sleepy, crabby emi the next day.
gma started working again and comes and spends time with emi on wednesdays
usually babysitting so i can go somewhere in peace.
or run an errand that would take 10 times longer with kiddos.
made a hooded beach towel for david
in the middle of all my craziness.
when i washed it, it had so many fuzzies
and i couldn't find the lint roller, so i used pieces of packing tape.
it was nice to do something crafty and for myself
i plan to use it when i come visit :) kidding!!
i'm glad you love it david!
i tried my hand at making rolls
eddie asked me where i bought them from, ha!
was way easier than i thought
and emi kept asking me if we were making a pie.
sporting the comb over.
i'm trying to train his hair with lotion
it actually goes the opposite way of this picture.
and this is what it looks like once it dries.
stands straight up. flat top for life i guess.
love these two.
makai isn't staying much on his tummy anymore.
he immediately turns onto his back
which i am trying to avoid as his head is a little flat.
our mcdonalds dinner from earlier...my pics are outta order.
i have been "sick" for the past 2 weeks.
where at night about 5pm my voice turns horse
i have a tickle and start to cough about 11pm
then in the morning i can barely talk cause my voice is gone
until about 10am, then i'm fine
not sure if my body is trying to get sick.
anyways. i had an unexpected tickle cough and emi covered up
and yelled at me about covering my mouth so i don't spread germs.
she looks little in this picture.
makai was waiting in the bumbo sunday morning
while the rest of us were getting ready and about to walk out of the door
he had already spit up and i had changed his clothes already
eddie was right there when he spit up again and claimed all was well
he and emi went and got into the car
as i was to get makai in his car seat and change his shirt which had spit up on it.
this is what i found as i pulled him from the bumbo
um, not good. two church outfits in a 10 minute span.
not to mention he probably had an empty tummy from spitting up so much.
for some reason this is one of my favorite picture of him
watching tv early one morning, refusing to sit up.
