seventeen months
i seriously can't believe how fast emi is growing.
she is doing new things everyday
mainly seeing what she can do and get away with
she LOVES to color.
she gets so excited with every stroke on the paper
and has a major meltdown
if i start cleaning up before she is done.
she also holds the crayon at the very top.

emi loves to brush and floss her teethwe had never flossed her teeth before
one day eddie gave her his used (ewww) floss to throw away
except she didn't go to the trash.
she started flossing her teeth.
new words we understand but not clear:
excuse me, what's wrong?, big bird, elmo, need/want/mine
i'm sorry, garbage, here ya go and good job
there are more but i can't think of them.

has started climbing anything and everything she canshe is very mischievous!
waiting and watching for us not to be looking
if she has something she isn't suppose to
she of course runs, but now lays on whatever it is
as if we can't just lift her up to get it from her.
loves looking out the window on her step stool
loves to run, with her short little legs.
loves to run, with her short little legs.
has had milk product and eggs in the last two weekswithout a single reaction!!
i am so hoping this means she has grown out of her allergies.
she loves yogurt, cheezits, string cheese and milk
her favorite snacks are bread and butter pickles or olives
still working on hand control with the spoon and fork.
then plug her nose and wave her hand like it stinks.
she used her thumb to make a pig nose.
she used her thumb to make a pig nose.
when she is in trouble and knows it
she does this certain smirk...
a big smile, with one eye almost closed and her head tilted.

a big smile, with one eye almost closed and her head tilted.
she is such a girly girl.she puts on her necklaces and bracelets and "talks" on her phone
which is funny because i don't really wear jewelry.
she is just nursing once a day, starting today
hopefully in a month she will be fully weaned.
she goes to bed around 7:30, a little before or a little after
depending on her mood.
and is awake by 7:30, sometimes earlier.
and MUST help put everything away.
she "swims" in the bath and dunks her face.
loves wearing shoes but can't seem to keep them on
it's a vicious cycle really.
i put them on, she takes them off, cries she can't get them back on
so i put them back on...and it all repeats...sigh.
she sure is full of personalityand is our little fire cracker.
we love watching her growing and changing everyday.
we love you emi!

another failed photoshoot
this time she wouldn't even look my direction.
unless i was up in her face.
and then she didn't really even look at me.
she was way more interested in climbing into her wagon.
in a skirt....not very lady like.

ouch!
yesterday emi took a spill at the library.
she almost bit through her lip
when i picked her up there was blood everywhere
gushing from her mouth...it was a little scary.

after eating some ice while i cleaned her upwe were on our way to the dr.
i had this feeling to call before i drove all the way over there
i'm glad i did...
her dr. said if it's just in the inside of the mouth
the mouth just heals itself
and there is no need for stitches
so now she is left with a huge canker sore. ouch!

the state fair
we headed to the state fair today
to see the animals and try some fried foods
this was a first for both eddie and emi
emi enjoyed the animals.
there was a little petting zoo
if you could even call it that.
she really liked the cows.
we tried the famous donut bacon cheeseburger.
it didn't look that bad.
excited to clog his arteries.

excited to clog his arteries.with a little sweetness at the end.
i probably wouldn't eat it again, but happy i tried it.
we also tried a fried snickers.
it was just melted and gooey.
funny story: we were walking around
and eddie let me take the first bite of the snickers
well they sprinkle it with powdered sugar
i went to take a bite and i inhaled some powdered sugar
so i choked....causing me to cough
powdered sugar all over the front of eddie
the lady at the booth laughed...
but eddie didn't think it was very funny.
all in all, i think we had a great time.

weekend fun
this weekend we took a short drive to
the joe huber farm to pick peaches.
then we were reminded that the heat index was 110
as soon as we stepped foot out of the car.
so we decided to just get some ice cream
and pick out some produce from the market on the farm.
we are sure glad we didn't go picking
because as soon as we were done with our ice cream
a huge storm came through.
we would have gotten soaked!

snap away
i'm on a blogging roll, posting practically everyday.
this morning i decided since we were up early
we mine as well beat the heat
and try to get some pictures done.
can you believe i only got 7 out of 72 pictures
that i actually semi liked
i just snap away hoping to get at least one that i love.

the little rascal tried eating grass
then remembered she doesn't like grass.
in hopes she would look my way.
instead, i got the demand or i will melt in tears grin
to which she inspected it, rather than licked
like what is this thing?
i tried showing her what to dobut she ran off again...sitting on the cement
she was an obvious rookie sucker eater.

hooded towel tutorial
this is going to be a super quick...
kind of already know what your doing tutorial
then i will post a bunch more pictures
and a more detailed tutorial below.
in case you need a little more instruction.
you will need a bath towel and a hand towel
this usually costs around $7 (at target)
and you can make two towels out of one hand towel
so you can purchase two bath towels & one hand towel
and make two....costing around $5 each

back stitching at both ends.
that will make the hood.
the picture below is the hood, inside out.
i used three fingers and folded in
and then folded over, then pin in place.
repeat on the other side of the pin.
this is the side you want facing you when you attach the hood.
next step: sew along pinned edge.
just under the edge and back stitch over the ends and center.
line up the center of the hood, with the center of the towel.
attach the hood by pinning the centers together.
just to clarify: both edges will be facing towards the ceiling
being careful not to bunch towel.
i would go slow over the thick part and back stitch
just to make sure things stay together.
take the pins out and sew along edge again.
and this is what the inside looks likeafter many, many washes.

ok, here is the long drawn out tutorial.
this is going to be very detailed
so detailed you can look at the computer screen
then do a step and look back at the screen
to make sure you did it right.
start out with a hand towel and a bath towel.
like i mentioned before, if you get two bath towels
you can make two hooded towels.
the easiest way would be to fold lengthwise (like a hot dog)
and then cut in half (like a hamburger)
there will be three finished edges and one raw edge.
and sew along the raw edge.
i like to sew about 3 inches in from the raw end.
it makes the hood a little smaller.
you can sew along the original raw edge and it won't be huge
i just like the hood smaller, my personal choice.
if you really want to get detailed.
you can leave it square or make it rounded.
square on the left, rounded on the right (right side out)
you sewn along the corner.
one edge is the folded side and the other edge is the raw edge.
time to start on the bath towel portion.
find the center of the towel.
by folding it in half (hamburger style) and placing a pin in place
if your towel has a tag...
it should be on the left, touching the ground under the towel.
or you can cut it off.
so you could see what it's suppose to look like.
this is the side you want facing you when you attach the hood.
actually just inside the edge, on the towel.
back stitching on the ends and the middle
to make sure it is sturdy.
oh and i forgot to mention...
it's best to use thread that matches the towel
match the center of the towel, with the seam of the hood.
pinning the entire edge of the hood to the edge of the towel.
