Have a nice trip...See you next Fall!!

I'm so lame. I know! I use to say that to my friend's in junior high and probably high school when I wasn't going to be at school or something.

Well this weekend is my family reunion. It is up at Bear Lake and we only do it every two years. Everyone one will be there except for Taryn and Andy and Matt and Annabelle, we'll miss you guys!! Hopefully I will have some pictures to show on Monday when we get back.

Tubing...

This past weekend we went tubing down the Provo river with a bunch of friends from Eddie's work. There is a company that rents tubes and life vests for $10, oh...and they shuttle you up to the top of the river. It was super fun, despite most of us got raspberries on our arms from steering with our arms. The water was less than 50 degrees but it was a lot of fun and wasn't to freezing. I tipped over a few times....once trying to get out of the tube and another time hitting a rock that made me tip over. Ryan lost a shoe and Eddie missed the turn out to get out of the water, so he had to walk over the bridge to get back. After tubing we all headed out for pizza. We had a fun time. (picture is from the company's website)

The plates are finished. I think they turned out cute. By the way, in case you were wondering...we used stickers for the lettering. I have good handwriting but not that good.

Europe Update...

This was a message Russell left me:

Here's a quick run down of somethings that have happened: 1) We went to Prague and thought that our train passes worked in the Czech Republic.....they don't! So the train conductor followed us to an ATM and we paid him half price so he could just pocket the money and not have to print out a ticket. 2) While in Prague we stayed at a hostel that was this old school...we slept in the gym on army style bunk beds with about 70 other people..the longest night of my life. 3) I'm in Berlin today and on Sunday night I'm taking an over night train up to Sweden then a boat over to Finland and staying over there for a couple of days.

Looks a lot cleaner than I imagined. What a fun time he is having!!

Fish Pedi...

I don't think I could do it, could you? I think it would tickle way too bad and the thought of fish eating your dead skin, just grosses me out. But given the opportunity I probably would try it. (pic courtesy of Yahoo!)

Color Me Mine

I forgot my camera to show off Jessica and my art work when we went to Color Me Mine, so I used my cell phone. We both made plates. I made a special day plate, for birthdays, anniversaries, student of the week, etc. Growing up we had a special plate that we got for our birthdays or if something special was happening and I wanted to have one for our family.

These pictures are before they went in the kilns.
This is Jessica's....."Quigley Family Plate". I think it turned out cute.
They will be ready on Friday night after 7 p.m., so stay tuned for the final product.

Grover's Market

This morning we headed to the Farmer's Market with Piper...while Ryan studied for the CPA. After the farmer's market we headed over to Grover's Market for their famous huge sandwiches. The three of us split one sandwich because they are so huge.

Inside is this tiny market. It has anything you could think of, they even have a produce section.
I asked if I could take a picture of her making the sandwich and the lady gave me the weirdest look. So, I said...I won't get you in it...so she smiled and said o.k. as if I read her facial expression.

Seriously, this thing is huge!!
Thanks for the fun day Piper...and Eddie....it was fun hanging out.

Mama Mia!

Gma, Jessica and I went and saw Mama Mia! yesterday. I have never seen the Broadway play and I had heard mixed reviews about it but I decided to see it anyways and I am glad I did. It was a cute girly movie. I was told they took the Lord's name in vain a lot, it didn't. Some parts were a little racy but not too bad. Jessica who saw the Broadway play was disappointed they switched up one of the characters at the end. But overall I think it was a good movie.
Today we are going to the Farmer's Market and Monday I am taking Jessica to Color me Mine for her birthday! So excited. I loving this 4 day weekend thing, so far!

(P.S. Eddie gave our blog a make over, well just the background. Thanks Eddie!!)
(P.S.S. Yes! I am really up at 7:30 AM on a Saturday! This is actually sleeping in.)
(P.S.S.S. We haven't heard anymore from Russell for those of you wondering, but I am sure he is having a blast in Germany.)

More pics from Europe

Russell sent me some more pictures. Seems like he is having fun. He is in Germany for a few weeks, I think...he wrote an e-mail to Eddie that he was in Vienna that day, with a stop in Munich. This is what he had to say: "Everything is going good, it's crazy been in a place that no one speaks English. We went to a BBQ last night and I just have to sit there with a smile on my face."
Here are the pictures he sent us. I believe he is staying with some ward members. Not sure if I said this before, but his friend he is traveling with served his mission in Germany. So they have a few hook-ups there. What a fun time!!

I'm so jealous!!!

Russell...Eddie's little brother, my favorite brother in law... is backpacking through Europe with a friend. From his e-mail his first few days sounded kind of rough. They planned to stay in a Hostel but a hotel was just as much so they opted for a clean room and a shower.
The night before they left for Germany they just spent the night on the streets.

I think this might be in a train station, waiting for the train to Germany.
His friend he went with served his mission in Germany so they have places to stay. And someone to speak the language. Hopefully they will have a better time in Germany. I'm so jealous though!!

The cemetery key....

In case you are wondering like Kevin is...

This is actually an interesting story. Jessica and I use to go walking in the cemetery in the spring. The gates automatically lock at dusk. One day we were walking our regular routine and we see this older gentleman with his grandson at the front side gate. They ask us if we are the gate keepers. Jessica and I look at each other knowing the gate is locked and we didn't bring our cell phones. We get to the front gate and it is closed! Locked! Funny thing is, the previous week we talked about where we would hop the fence. Well we went to our spot we decided on and we decided we would looks for a better area. So... we went to the far west side of the cemetery and jumped the chain link fence instead of the fence with horns/spikes. On the way home from our little adventure we decided that we needed to get a KEY in case that ever happened again (they left a flier on our door, that they were available sometime last year) And since the cemetery office is only open M-F 8:30-5:30 and Jessica and I both work north of the point of the mt. I decided to go get one on my day off.

Funny story ...when I did go to get the key. I walk in and there is a lady in her 50's and an older gentleman in his 70's or older. I think she was just a city employee and he probably has worked at the cemetery his whole life. I walk in and state what I am there for and the lady has me start filling paperwork out. As I'm filling out my info. the older gentleman says, "Are you really that lazy you can't walk around to the front gate!?!" I didn't know what to say, so I didn't say anything. So... he continues to explain that no one is suppose to be in the cemetery when the gates aren't open anyways. I continue to just stand there, waiting for the lady to get me my key. Then he says, "ma'am, you really that lazy?" I turned around and said." I am." Ha! I didn't know what else to say. I didn't want to explain we had gotten locked in, because he was being such a stickler on how no one was suppose to be in the cemetery because it is trespassing. Needless to say, Jessica and I won't be jumping any cemetery fences. And they shouldn't hand out a flier that keys are available if the old man is just going to call you lazy and make you feel bad.

4 ten's

In effort to help with the cost of gas, my work has implemented either working 4 ten hour days or $50 gas card a month. I obviously chose the better choice, 4 ten's. I probably spend approximately $50 on gas a week, so it wouldn't have helped that much.

Today was my first day off. I set up my schedule that I will have 4 day weekends, every other weekend. I think I am really going to enjoy it. I got a ton done today, here is the list:

went by the cemetery and got a key to the gate
got the oil changed
went to the beauty supply store
went grocery shopping
went to Costco
did 6 loads of laundry
cleaned the bathrooms
paid some bills
gave myself a mani and pedi
watched t.v. (all caught up on my tivo'd programs)
cleaned out the fridge
made the guest bed
unloaded the dishwasher

Phew. I got a lot done. 5:30 a.m. is sounding kind of early to be at work by 7 a.m. but I will just look at this list and remember it's worth it.

The Zoo

Before dropping Tanner off at the airport we ventured to the zoo. It was Eddie's first time, since last year he had to work or something.
The white alligator. It isn't albino though, just white.
The elephants were very active. One of them is pregnant and due next July. We learned that elephants are prego for 21 months and the babies usually weigh 200 pounds at birth.

Thought this was interesting. Never knew what there teeth looked like.

This bear was itching is backside, it was funny to watch.

This is a baby giraffe, it was less than 10 feet tall. They had it's mom and him/her on one side and the rest of the giraffes on the other side.
This was so cute...little baby monkey.
This monkey had a sheet on it the whole time, probably trying to keep cool.

Can you tell Tanner wasn't even interested in taking this pictures...haha!!
After the zoo we headed over to Hire Big H for a yummy hamburger and root beer. Then off to the airport.

Eddie and I have had the longest day. We woke up at 3:45 AM to be awake and scan Center Street for a spot for the parade. They set a new ordinance this year that you can't set anything up on the grass until 5 a.m. Eddie was a little nervous about not getting a spot so we went super early and good thing we did. We arrived on Center St. about 4 a.m. there were people sitting on the sidewalk waiting for 5 a.m. to roll around. So, I dropped him off...went back home for an hour...did some laundry....went back to the spot...he went home and showered and came back with Tanner, this was all before 6 a.m. by the way. Then I went and got ready for the day, picked up some Beto's burritos and waited until 9 a.m. for the parade to start. Thanks Sue, Frank, Elania and Kaden for joining us. We had a blast!! Probably Eddie's favorite part of the parade. People think he is some sort of Polynesian , so he claims to be a pacific islander. Too bad he is from the island of Oregon and not Hawaii.
Glenn Beck was in our parade...I had to get a picture for my brother Erik.

Then we headed just east of our house and watched the fireworks. It was super windy but felt nice since it was still pretty warm.
Eddie and Tanner talking about soccer to past the time.

Happy 4th of July!!
