weekly update

this boy and his climbing.

he loves to stand on the edge of the couch

then will throw himself down onto the couch.

my heart use to skip a beat when he did it.

not it is just a regular thing which hopefully he will get over soon.

 

makai takes a 2-4 hour nap daily

one day he woke up crabby so i laid him in our bed

he went right back to sleep and slept another 2 hours.

wish i could take such long naps.

emi was in our room watching a movie.

i think he thought she was still sleeping.

because he kept doing 'shhh' as if someone is sleeping.

emi has been on a picture boycott lately.

i took this picture without her knowledge. 

she was watching a new episode of sofia the first.

let me outta here! 

a new park opened up. makai and i went and tried it out.

this was on emi's last day of school, her water/field day.

emi loves to help in the kitchen.

after i took this picture. she said:

you almost made me cut my skin off!

i had to laugh cause that knife is as dull as a butter knife.

just another couch jumping picture. 

i didn't realize it was such an issue until his speech therapist

freaked out when he did it while she was over.

so from then on i have tried to prevent it.

problem is, emi does it. monkey see, monkey do i guess.

so now no one is allowed to stand and jump on the couch.

one night eddie went for a run and emi cried his entire run

because he wouldn't take her.

one she wasn't done with dinner.

and two he wanted to get a quick run in.

i love going in and seeing how the kids are sleeping.

emi is only up for having her picture taken when she is,

either photo bombing someone else's picture

or when she isn't paying attention.

makai stole my donut.

we get the kids donut holes but he kept begging for mine.

he loves donuts so much.

pretty much opposite of his sister when it comes to donuts and cake.

we had asked emi what she wanted to do for her first day of summer.

her first choice was camping.

boom! consider it done.

she really wanted to go to santa cruz to go camping at the beach.

but settled for the backyard with a movie and popcorn.

eddie said they both fell asleep before the movie ended.

preschool graduation

miss emi finally had her last day of school.

i think i found the longest running program because

she went from august 2nd to june 30th.

to be completely honest, i don't see much physical change.

even though she grew like 3 inches and 6 pounds.

yeah she looks a little bit older but not much.

 

makai had one final play with the toys outside.

he use to love to get this long shovel and play swords 

with one of the other younger brothers.

i didn't get a great picture in front of their graduation sign

but happy she looked my direction and smiled.

cause she was in a mood....she stayed up late and woke up early.

we dropped emi off and then headed to the board room to find a seat.

when the school year started there were like 13 girls and 7 boys.

by the end of the year there were 10 girls and 5 boys.

as i was trying to leave i couldn't find makai.

he had just been playing in the kitchen a second ago.

then i spotted him.

mr. ray.

we chuckled cause tanner has that tie.

in a mood.

i knew emi was first so i was trying to figure out where to take a picture from.

jayden next to emi is gonna have a hard time transitioning to kindergarten.

she still cries when she gets dropped off.

eventually jayden went to sit with ms. lala on the other side.

so emi was all alone. which was great cause we could hear her sing.

i think she knew she was first.

she was so happy she got to be the line leader when they practiced.

mr. ray announced emi's name and said:

when emi grows up she wants to be a teacher.

i couldn't be more proud.

most of the kids said firefighter. one girl said fairy snow princess.

by the time it was over emi wanted to go party and wasn't interested in pictures.

makai was losing his composure cause he wanted to wear her hat.

ms. lala, emi and mr. ray

makai needed his own time to shine.

too bad i didn't get a picture with his eyes open.

love my little family.

then it was time to party.

emi has come a long way, before she needed to be served.

this time she served herself and we had to find her sitting with her friends.

enjoying a piece of cake.

i think after all the birthdays they celebrated.

that emi now has a new appreciation for cake.

she still is very selective but she never use to eat it before.

emi and her good pal mason.

they were tied at the hip when frozen was all the rage.

they've since found other friends.

he is all boy and she has no idea what star wars or any other super hero is.

they still played together but less and less i've noticed.

 

everyday they both would stand and open the gate.

mason would always tickle emi's neck aggressively.

 

i wish i would have taken more pictures of emi happy.

she really was but she was also in a bad mood.

here she is mad because i wouldn't let her play with the s&p.

but we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of leatherby's ice cream.

we then went swimming at gma and gpa's.

 

happy graduation miss emi!!

emi starts a kindergarten summer camp in 2 weeks.

i'm glad i found something to keep her busy and learning.

funderland

we were invited recently to a fun night at funderland.

it's a tiny amusement park with less than 10 rides.

besides it being a super hot evening we had a great time.

i love how makai's eyes are peeking through the steering wheel.

our first ride was driving the cars.

we rode it a few times and switched kids.

when emi was driving she instructed me not to touch the steering wheel.

not sure if eddie had the same rules. bossy girl.

then eddie took the kids on the water log ride.

emi got her feet all soaked otherwise she loved it.

 

they only allowed two riders at a time.

after the 3rd ride or so emi was willing to ride by herself.

her facial expressions were the best!

i had to get my zoom lens out to see makai.

he loved it!

this was while going down the hill.

i can hear him laughing just looking at this picture.

i then took the kids onto the train ride.

i told makai to sit down like 100 times before it even left the station.

so glad i captured emi's face.

we were about to enter a small/short tunnel.

 

then it was time for some wild rides.

poor emi was too tall for this ride

but didn't figure that out until she went to get in line.

let's just say makai was fine just watching.

 

this was his facial expression within 10 seconds of the ride starting.

like, uh...what is going on here?

and then he'd cry when he would see us.

go back to a what the crap is going on face!

then back to crying when he saw us.

eddie and i just laughed while the worker asked if we wanted to stop the ride.

i didn't even respond cause i was laughing so hard, not sure what eddie said.

then we rode the roller coaster 5 times in a row.

we also rode this crazy spinning ride which there is no proof.

and good thing cause it was crazy.

i also believe she cut this whole line. 

just walked straight up to the fence opening.

emi was so good to wave every single time she went around.

too bad every single picture i took was blurry.

finally we went on the carousel.

which is makai's favorite.

this was the best picture i could get with them together.

and i was happy to see seat belts. 

as the last few carousels we've been on hasn't had them.

crazy man makai.

looks like he tried to tear off his ride bracelet.

no hands...breaking the rules!!

then finally....emi needed to ride one more time.

she finally got the front and loved it!

 

and like rookie parents we thought makai could handle 

an ice cream cone on the way home from a fun evening together. wrong!
