weekly update

this past week was completely crazy.
between school, speech therapy, eddie on his mancation
and my church callings. i was stressed to the max.
i notice when i get super duper stressed i just want to talk to gma.
which isn't possible and that is ok.
i probably think of her cause she is probably telling me it's all gonna be ok.

eddie's friends from work play on a flag football adult team.
they had a guy injured and asked him to play.
so we kept the kids up and supported him in playing.
but really we just played on a new park.
emi hated parks, just wanted to swing.
so it is nice and scary that makai enjoys going to the park so much.
so much that he gets upset if we pass a park and don't stop.

i really need to get some updated pictures of these two.
by looking at this picture i would never think they were siblings.
let alone even cousins. no relation what so ever.

we had a drunk pilot. ha!
makai doesn't like rocking motions.
so this is like the only picture i have of them playing together.

emi found her two drawers full of workbooks.
she has been busy doing homework.
i think i am going to get the summer bridge workbook for her.
so she has homework to do during the summer.
she is on a waiting list for a kindergarten prep summer camp.

please excuse my messy floors. my house was neglected this past week.
you can kind of see on my calendar how busy may has been for me.
tanner is on the stake youth committee and needed help with a painting project.
he had no idea how busy i had been this whole week.
or that i really had 100 things on my list of things to get done.
but i was happy to help him with his project.
ugliest superman sign i have ever painted...twice. it is double sided.
i guess they are going to cut it into a puzzle.

friday night emi had a sleep over with gpa and tanner.
she was so excited to 'go on vacation' again. silly girl.
she asked me no less than 5 times when i was leaving
as i was talking with my dad when i dropped her off.
hopefully we can do this more often as they both had a great time.
and i could use the "operation, throw emi's useless papers/junk away"

makai's speech therapist suggested i get him
a electric toothbrush for his oral needs.
when i put it in the cart he had to have it.
this past week he also got 3 of his 4...2 year old molars.
and he had a canker sore?!
i knew he mouth was hurting to what i thought were more teeth.
which as true...his bottom molars were breaking through.
but every time i wiped his mouth he would cry.
finally after trying to look in his mouth numerous times i spotted a canker sore.
poor kid! i get them and i hate them.

my snuggle buddy while eddie was gone.
she was suppose to sleep on eddie's side but would always end up on my side

this boy is a food thief.
he always wants a bite or sip of what you have.
i was making a smoothie and gave him some of the chocolate almond milk.
he thought it was delicious.

i think it's time makai gets his own pillow.
he keeps sleeping with his blanket all together like a pillow.

this is what happens when i don't give makai a paci.
he always puts his fingers in his mouth.
eddie keeps asking me when we are taking the paci away.
at this point...never. he needs the oral stimulation.

emi just couldn't stay awake during the drive to pick eddie up from the airport.
it takes about 40 minutes to get to the airport.
eddie's golf bag got stuck and he had to wait like 45 minutes for it.
which meant we waited 45 minutes in the park 'n' wait.
then she slept the entire way home, so over a 2 hour nap.
she must have been sleepy.
and during the park 'n' wait, makai was being a devil baby.
so i am shocked she never woke up with his crying.

i snuck this picture with makai's speech therapist.
she took off his shoe trying to make him ask for it.
he didn't care. he actually ended up taking his other one off eventually.
she doesn't have a good game plan for him yet
as he is super smart and has developed his own language/gestures.
i think she deals with more developmentally delayed kids.
so he figures out her tricks/techniques without actually saying anything.
i found a speech therapist that does these weekly youtube videos
called: teach me to talk and it is geared towards toddlers.
