Birthday fun!

All Eddie wanted for his birthday this year was an acoustic guitar. He went back and forth on if he really wanted one or not, even though he has said he has wants one for the past few years. About 2 months ago he sent me a link of a place online I can buy the one he wants. I tried buying it online but things were going wrong with the order so I decided not to get it. Went home that night and asked in all seriousness if he really wanted one. He said, no...it's too much money. Well about 2 weeks ago he asked me where I have been hiding his present? Um, hello...thought you said you didn't want one. I went into panic mode, I deleted the e-mail he sent me and how was I suppose to find out which one it was. Well luckily I was able to retrieve that deleted e-mail. I called all around locally to see if anyone carried the one he wanted. Well I found one 2 days before his b-day. So, I went and bought it on my lunch break and wrapped it at work. But how was I suppose to hide it from him for 2 days. So, I thought of a plan. I'll hide it in the shed!!

I had to wait until he was upstairs to be all sneaky and move it from the trunk to the shed. But it worked. I needed to hide it, cause he would obviously know what it was.

So, I thought of this plan...how am I going to make him go see it? As you can see we store extra T.P. and paper towels in there. I asked him to get me some toilet paper out of the shed and his response was, "is that where you've been hiding my present!?"

He was so excited!!
Oh and look, my tulips are starting to bloom. Thought I'd take a update pic while I was outside.

Opening his new favorite toy!!

He was tuning it within minutes of opening it. While I was doing domestic things, unloading the dishwasher, fluffing the clothes in the dryer, straightening up...he went upstairs and what was he doing? A tutorial on beginner guitar lessons.

As we were leaving for Ruby River steakhouse he said he forgot something and came back down the stairs real quick. I couldn't help but make fun of him that he was kissing his guitar good bye. He wasn't... he was getting his wallet, so he says.

Eddie got his favorite. New York steak and we also had shrimp cocktail....which was a waste $8 for 6 shrimp. Oh well, he is worth it!!

I got my favorite Steak Oscar, it is a steak with crab on top. I also opted for the cinnamon yams. They were good. I thought I was all being healthy by getting the yam instead of the fries or loaded potato, until I looked closely and realized it was deep fried. It was so yummy though.

Eddie also got a cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory from his parents. It was so yummy.

Happy Birthday!!

Eddie is 26 today!! I planned on waking up early this morning to make him his favorite breakfast, blueberry pancakes. But wait....what was he making for dinner last night when I got home from school? Blueberry pancakes! Of course, just my luck.... so this morning I went to Beto's early this morning for his second favorite breakfast, bacon breakfast burrito. Happy Birthday, I love you!

Sad day!!

Eddie's family dog Augie was put to sleep today. He hasn't been acting himself lately and the vet thought it would be a good idea to put him down. Sad day! I'm sorry, we will miss him.

Last Shindig's

Here are some pics to document our last activities with the singles ward. We went up to I think South Fork Park or something like that in Provo Canyon trails, where we had the a closing social.

Eddie and the Bishop @ the BBQ
Playing volleyball

I thought this was cute. We had this whole area of picnic tables to sit at and they all chose to sit together on the grass.

Then last night we had our last FHE. They were so excited to us, since we had been released yesterday I guess they assumed we wouldn't come. We went to this place in south Provo called Progressive Tumbling.

People jumping in the pit. Which took me like 10 minutes to get out of. If you enlarge the picture above you can see some guy on a rope swing helping someone out. Beware, the pit also eats socks!

Eddie and I went on that red thing. It is like a hamster wheel or something, so fun!

Some of the girls.

This was funny to watch. People trying to run and jump through that hole.

These are blurry pics of Eddie jumping in.

Watch the video. Doesn't that look like fun? It was...I did it to Eddie, but since it took me an hour to get out of the pit we didn't do it again.

Dear John...but not really

My sister made a major milestone in her life this afternoon and wanted me to document it. She sent off a missionary, that she kind of "dear john'd". She claims to have just moved on and he heard through the grapevine what was going down. Anyways...not to air her dirty laundry, but it was time to clean out the break up box. One down, one more to go!

"Forever may not be long enough for this love" HAHAHA!!! That is what the missionary wrote on her "collection box". Oh, sweet innocent puppy love (high school relationship).

She is such a diva!! She even posed throwing it all in the trash.

I'm proud of you Ash...now we have a little more space in our attic, thanks! :)

Changes

I should be getting ready for church, but I am already ready. Having church at 9 a.m. I usually never get ready, but today some changes are taking place. Eddie and I are getting released from the singles ward this morning. I know you are not suppose to tell anyone until it happens, but I figure by the time anyone reads this, there is no turning back. Because once I turn off the computer I will be heading to the church. I kind of have mixed emotions about it. I am excited to go back to our married student ward (where most of our friends are moving out), to be involved with people our age, in the same situation. But on the other hand I am going to miss the singles. And their sweet spirits and crazy adventures, like staying up until 3 a.m. and functioning the next day. I am a firm believer that change is good, so I guess we will wait an see what our next adventure is.

*Update* The meeting was good. The couple they called are actually from our married student ward. So, we knew a few people in common. Oh, and I balled the WHOLE time. I think I just needed a good cry and it just so happen I couldn't hold my self together today. Some girls I have become close to gave me the frowny face and the silent, 'I'm gonna miss you', so I lost it. I am fine now though, in case your wondering, hahaha....I'm lame, I know!

I love him!!

Most of you know Eddie as a shy, quiet guy. Well he isn't. He is actually pretty funny. For example, today while out to lunch with my sister... I asked her what we should do for our mom since we will all be together for Mother's Day. Before my sister could even respond he says...We should bake her a cake or something!! Exactly like Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite said. My sister and I totally started laughing. I love him!!

Tons of dots!!

Our lives have been pretty busy, yet boring. School and work..you know the same old thing. This last week Eddie had a project due for his History of Creativity class. I have no idea why he chose what he did but it turned out great. He had to take two things he learned during the semester and create something that was creative. He decided to do a dot picture of Hitler, of all people. I asked...didn't you learn about Mother Teresa or something? He claims he didn't and they had just learned about Hitler.

This first pic is about where Eddie stopped doing the project and I took over.

I decided since it was going to take DAYS to get it done, I mine as well document the experience.

In case I ever try to do this again.

Which I won't!!

Cause it took FOREVER!!!

The final piece.

He also had to write a one page write up of why he chose what he chose. Hope he gets an A for all my hard work!!

P.S. Don't try to burn edges of paper in the house, it just creates a mess!! Not that we did that for the first corner or anything?!?

Getting Old!!

No I am not referring to me getting older this past week. This is a funny story of my grandparents and the things I experience with getting old on a daily basis.

Every Tuesday after work and before school I go over to my grandparents to cook some meals for the week. Every week they want the same thing, which is easy for me. Personally my taste buds would still be hungry, but this isn't about me remember..I'm not getting old.

So...I go over there and start the poppy seed chicken. I have everything made and all I have to do it mix the sour cream with the cream of chicken soup. I go to the pantry and all I see is cream of mushroom. I ask Gma if she picked some up like she was suppose to, in which she says "yes it is right there with the other soup".

Um, nope. I don't see it, just cream of mushroom. Here is the getting old part. My Gma is 85 and sometimes thinks she does stuff when she doesn't or says stuff a few times not realizing she told me that 3 times already. You know...that memory stuff happens when you get old. Well she said my aunt took her to the grocery store and maybe it fell out of the bag. Meanwhile, Gpa is like what about chicken noodle soup?? Old people!! So, I explained we were looking for the cream of chicken soup and he immediately goes down to the basement looking for some in their storage. Which I know they don't have any down there but I left him go anyways. So, Gma calls my aunt and my aunt is like no you did get some, because they spoke of how expensive soup is, 75 cents for a can of cream of chicken.

So, my aunt offers to go check her car to see if maybe it rolled out and is in the trunk. Gpa comes back up..."no, cream of chicken down there". Gma explains she knows that already and that she bought some at the store and put it right in this certain spot. I offer to just run to the store real quick no big deal. Getting old also means you have delayed reaction...so like 2 minutes later, while my aunt was checking her car my Gpa confessed he gave it away to the Boy Scout's on Saturday for their food drive!! HaHa!! So, my aunt comes back on the phone to let my Gma know it isn't in her car. And Gma explains...yeah because your Dad gave it away to the Boy Scout's!! Needless to say, I made it with cream of mushroom. They probably won't be able to tell the difference anyways.

Song of the Week

Birthday Loot

This year I turned 26. For some reason 26 seems a whole lot closer to 30 than 25 did. Oh well...I'm getting old I can admit that, 30 is the new 20... so no worries!! I was totally blessed this year. Eddie surprised me with roses which I totally love. He can never surprise me with flowers because remember we are a one car family and I use the car 90% of the time. Aren't they beautiful!!

Don't mind my morning hair or my favorite "jean" shirt. Eddie makes fun of it and I am not 'allowed' to wear it in public. And see that lei...Eddie made it for me with all my favorite candies and he made me wear it all morning.

Eddie got me some start up sewing things. Now I just need my own sewing machine. My BFF Jessica has let me borrow hers until I get my mom's old one in June. So excited!! Thanks Jess!! I also got some balloons from my sister, a must have on your b-day. She also gave me a gift card to Olive Garden. Jessica got me some of my favorite lotions and bubble bath from Bath and Body Works...apple sensation. I also got a gift card to Michaels craft store from Eddie parents and Moo-La from my parents and grandparents. Hopefully the moo-la will not disappear into the black hole I call our checking account but will be used for fabric.

Eddie decided to throw me a little b-day party. After opening presents, getting a haircut, going to lunch at Red Robin and seeing Horton Hears a Who (which was so cute by the way). We headed home for a party. Eddie got a ice cream cake for me and it was so yummy!!

Thank you Keith, Nicci, Austin, Jessica, Brian, Ash and J.R...and Eddie for coming!!

Wondering who J.R. is? He is my sisters new BF...so excited for them!! Aren't they co cute together!?!

Thank you Eddie for such a fun birthday!!I love you! And thank you everyone else for your calls, cards and birthday wishes!!
