weekly update {16}

this week we did laundry and cleaned to keep us busy

on thursday we left for san diego for the weekend

our activities during the weekend deserve a post of it's own.

emi loves looking at tanner's books in her old room

if we ever can't find her, she is always in there reading

 

every time we come home
emi says: can i play on the playground for just a little bit?
 and makes her fingers almost touch
like a tiny amount of time...
which of course always ends up being like 20 minutes.

emi and her box spring/bed rail had a fight.
emi loves to wear her purple crocs
or her purple crotch as she says it
she basically walks out the back of them because they are too small
every time i have gone to buy a new pair they have been out of her size
after this happened, i decided i would track some down.

after a short strip to the mall
emi now has pink crocs.
poor thing almost split her chin open and has a nice mark on her face
just in time for our trip to san diego :)

i have to laugh at emi
literally a minute before i took this picture
she told me to come check on her.
well i went in to "check on her" and she was asleep!
i wish i could fall asleep in a minute.

oh the road to san diego
we drove half way and emi slept the whole time
friday morning we drove the rest of the way
eddie had never heard her talk so much
and he was able to experience the
mom! every 45 seconds, i experience daily.
he thought it was funny, i think it's annoying.

later that night we met up with the family
and emi saw her cousins.
can you believe every one wanted to eat dinner
where eddie, emi and i had eaten lunch that same day! blah!
at least they had chalk board doors to keep the girls busy.

then we made our way to the temple
where we would be the next day for erik and loren's wedding.
it was freezing, and emi should have had a jacket on.

emi was super excited to hit the beach.
we went to a beach in la jolla
emi loved running from the water and finding sea shells
until a wave took her out and she face planted
coming up with a mouthful of sand.

after the wedding, we headed to old town for mexican food
i have basically ruled out chinese and mexican food.
i can not bring myself to eat it...and i usually love both types of food.
dang baby, making my taste buds all crazy!

after the festivities were over and every one left
 we decided to go to the zoo.
emi loved the map!
it was a little cold, we didn't bring a stroller
but other than that we had a great time.

we also headed to coronado island after the zoo
after her face plant on la jolla
she basically just wanted to stay on dry sand.

after walking along the beach we worked up an appetite for some ice cream
i was trying to get a picture of eddie people watching
but he looked right at me.

i can't believe i didn't really take any pictures of emi during our trip
it was nice to enjoy being involved rather than behind the lens.
i was too afraid to get my camera wet or worse...sand!
i was the photographer for the wedding, so i was able to sneak a few
shots of emi having fun with her cousins.
