two months old

two month already!

he doesn't have his 2 month appt. until next tuesday

so i will update his stats then. i tried weighing him on our kitchen scale

but it said 0-ld...with means overload, ha! too much weight.

makai had to go on his first diet.

a couple of weeks ago he started projectile vomiting

not across the room or anything, but with enough force

to throw everything he had in his tummy up.

at his one month appt. i had asked the dr. about it

because it had happened once or twice

i wasn't sure if i wasn't burping him enough

or if he had reflux or if he was over eating.

i tried all sorts of things and nothing seemed to work

and the throwing up was happening more frequently

and he wasn't acting like he was in pain, so i called the dr.

he said it is probably reflux cause babies pull off when full.

i explained that i thought it was overeating since he didn't act in pain

so the dr. suggested to limit his feeding...aka put him on a diet

that did the trick!

he takes less than 15 minutes to eat from start to finish

and sometimes eat just eats on one side and will cry if i try to force the other side.

he usually goes 6-8 hours during the night 

and goes 3-4 hours during the day, sometimes 5 hours.

my day starts at 4:30am when makai wakes up to eat.

he usually wakes up about 6:30am

i have tried many times to put him back to sleep (binkie)

but he can't seem to self soothe himself yet (something i plan to ask the dr. about)

so i usually just bring him into bed with me.

he is safely cupped in my arm

and will stay asleep until 8:30 or earlier depending on if emi wakes him up

he eats 'breakfast' around 8:30am

which works perfect for 9am church. too bad it changes in january.

then he is awake for about 30 minutes.

sometimes we do tummy time, or a bath or the swing.

then he "roars" and i know that means he is ready to go to sleep.

he is having a hard time falling asleep, like getting comfortable.

his favorite position is for me to hold him

and he tucks his face into my arm.

or i put him in the swing and he will fall asleep.

i've tried putting him asleep in the crib but he just cries and cries.

he will sleep until his next feeding, which is around 12:30pm

he stays awake again for a little bit, usually 30 minutes

then is ready to sleep again. 

makai will eat again between 4:30-5:30, depending on how long he sleeps

then he is awake for about an hour

doing either tummy time, play mat, bumbo, bouncer or is held

then takes a nap again

this nap he seems to be a light sleeper, any little noise will wake him up

and he often opens his eyes, then closes them...only to open them again

he then eats again between 8:30-10:30

also depending on how long he sleeps.

he then either goes right back to sleep or stays up for a bit.

i never know. but once he is asleep he is asleep for the night

then my day starts again around 4:30am.

makai has been wearing size 2 diapers for a few weeks now.

he also wears clothes that are size 3-6 months.

he is even almost too big for them as he fills them in 

and are the perfect length right now.

his feet fill up the entire foot portion 

he hates water on his face

and he really hates to have his nails cut

but most of all, he really really hates having his boogers sucked out.

makai is smiling more and more.

he smiles all the time for gma.

smiles a little bit at me, i think he looks at me as more of a food source

like quit staring at me and feed me woman!

emi claims he smiles at her, more like giving her dirty get away from me looks

there is no question when is he pooping.

he will fart all the time, and they are usually silent but deadly

but only poops every couple of days, to clean the system out :)

and you will know as he grunts and grunts

turns red in the face and smells of rotten pumpkin

-with acid poured on top (as gpa says)

he keeps trying to suck his thumb but can't get it in his mouth

maybe once he has the hand coordination it will happen

i am trying to push the binkie, as you can take away binkie

not a thumb :)

isn't a huge fan of the ergo baby

he refuses to bend his legs or sit in it like it's meant for

i was in a pickle the other day and had to use it

and it was super awkward as his face was even with mine.

he loves to stand and prefers that when he is awake.
