i love when emi says she isn't tired and passes out
i told her she was catching flies. and she looked at me like i was crazy.

so one of the projects i have been wanting to do
was spray paint the gold brass door knobs.
one of the door knobs isn't the same style as the others.
and then one door knob was silver...weird.
never knew we had so many knobs in our small house.
i spent less than $5 on spray paint...oil rubbed bronze
and then used a coupon to buy this big styrofoam thing.
so it literally cost less than $10...i couldn't even buy one new door knob for that.
for some reason i didn't think of the bottoms of the knob.
i was all excited to put them back on, i didn't even think to check.
so out they went again for another day.
this was like the only picture i took that shows the difference.
we finally painted the front areas a gray.
oh my goodness. i hate gray.
everyone claims they have found the perfect gray.
we wanted a true gray with no undertones for our living areas.
we found the perfect one, so we thought.
we had put samples on the wall and all that time it was a true gray.
until we put it under false lighting...it is a baby blue.
emi woke up and said, hey! i like it....it's blue daddy's favorite color.
not the first thing i wanted to hear since i stayed up until 2:30am painting.
then the darker....beige/gray we choose...looks exactly like the true gray
except for when it is dark it looks like a dark gray.
but seriously, the walls that touch. you can not tell a difference.
i don't care anymore.
we needed to make room for chicken nuggets and eggo waffles.
kidding, but i finally dumped my liquid gold.
after makai refused to ever take a bottle, i quit pumping.
this milk was from the way beginning and well over a year old.
we gave emi a jamba juice gift card for valentine's day
so she wanted to redeem it.
wearing her night dress. ha! really a size 8 hand me down dress.
she wanted to practice for school pictures, which were the next day.
so happy to have her own smoothie.
makai was envious and stared at her the entire drive home.
i wish i could remember exactly what she said to him
but it was nice, and encouraging.
like when you get older you will get your own jamba juice card.
not wanting his picture taken.
i was trying to record him shoving the whole dang thing in.
he quit and hid his face.
dun...dun...dun....
i should have known he wasn't feeling well.
i put makai to bed at like 6 on thursday night.
i felt bad too because he wouldn't eat anything for dinner.
i was a short order cook that night, nothing!
and then he woke up every 20 or so minutes.
finally after thinking something must be up, i took his temp
it was 100 even....bummer, a fever.
the next time he woke up i drugged him up.
and he slept for the rest of the night.
but once he was 'up' he went right back to sleep.
something he never does!!
he even slept through eddie taking a shower...which has never happened.
i had to wake him up to take emi to school.
he just laid his head on my shoulder the entire time.
which i knew he must not have felt good, cause he loves to play with the other kids.
as i went to put him in the car he was like totally limp.
he had fallen back to sleep! and he stayed asleep until we got home.
i laid him back on our bed to give him some medicine.
and before i could give him any, he went back to sleep.
his poor little cheeks were all red.
he slept the whole time emi was at school.
waking up a couple times, but always going back to sleep.
i went about my morning while he slept the morning away.
i was in the kitchen when he woke up and walked out to the living room.
i was able to get him to eat an apple sauce packet, then he was back to sleep.
same thing happened again when i picked emi up from school.
the nice thing...he snuggled all day.
the bad thing...diarrhea!! at least he wears a diaper.
what made it worse...eddie was out of town.
so i changed about what felt like 20 nasty/smelly/diarrhea diapers.
makai loves ketchup....
and emi loves strawberries. she said: i need 5 cause i'm almost 5.
then said: um...no i need 6, cause next year i'll be six.
and obviously we need a bbq cover....can you say ghetto!! ha!
i was able to download the frozen read along book on our computer.
emi has watched it like 10 times.
emi always sleeps on the edge of her bed.
it bugs me so bad. i want to build her a bed, or bunk bed.
i saw this long line of a bruise on the outside of her bum cheek.
i asked her what happened?!
she explained she fell out of her bed the other night and landed on the railing.
this is makai's fake/forced laugh.
emi watched the 101 dalmatians...not animated one.
and so there were real puppies running around. makai loved it.
i had to run into winco one day for a specific item in the bulk section.
they always have the weirdest things.
emi found these huge bunny ears.
every person smiled and laughed at her as she wore them around the store.
makai let me take one picture of him.
then he handed them back to her.
it was quite funny.
all ready for school. she was more than willing to have her picture taken.
later after school we went and played at the park.
makai hated the swing and emi climbed everything.
emi made this at school. she must not have listened to the 'lesson'.
or maybe it was above her head. but she had no clue what it was for.
she just said it was for an old man face. ha!
