swimming in felt

here's my quiet book so far.
7 pages, half done... out of 22 pages.

i've gotten some ideas online.
and lots of ideas from my mom's quite book.
i obviously still need to sew things together
but i personally think the cutting takes the longest.
matching shapes.
learning to tie a shoe.
i am going to use an eye lit punch to make holes for the shoe lace.
my mom's had an old mother hubbard shoe but
i thought it would be better to have a view like in person.
build a hamburger.
i plan to put little seeds on the top bun.
this bear will have a ribbon around it's neck.
and a mouth from black thread.
a christmas tree to decorate.
the red box will have all the ornaments in it.
which i have yet to make.
i'm trying to decide if i want to hand cut...
candy canes, angels, stars, bells and snowmen or just cut out balls.
this will be flowers in a vase.
the stems will be green ric rac
and the flowers center will be buttons.
so the child can learn to button a button.
this is going to be balloons.
but obviously i haven't put the ribbon for the string yet.
my mom's book had a clown, but i'm not going to make a clown.

more felt flowers!
a new design....and it's my favorite so far.
maybe it's the colors.
side view...
so i'm thinking...
of selling my flowers headbands and clips
in a tiny boutique here in KY
to see how they sale before i open an etsy shop.

a few favorites

from my cell phone.
some may be blurry, very blurry!
these were taken during the months of september to december.

whenever she falls backwards
she always straightens her right leg.
i love when she does this.
and it is pretty much nightly that she does do it.
now she looks up at me all excited like,
can you see them too?
i think she needs a training bra...
kidding, i love baby chub!
so happy that i was in the back seat with her.
when i parked the car and peeked through the window at her.
all that whining explained itself.
she has now learned to put it down like a bow tie.
so usually i don't put her bow on until once we arrive.
this day she was in the silliest mood.
i love her personality and how she tries to make me laugh.
she is a handful some days but the faces she makes are hilarious.
and makes her being so sassy o.k.i wish i would have gotten these with a camera.
oh well....such a silly girl.
this binkie is a teething binkie.
it is a bumpy raspberry
the leaves make it look like she has a green mustache.
she seriously loves to try and grab the water.
she was totally squealing and screaming.
and lastly, the other day i was at a craft store
and stumbled upon one of those soft pokey things.
she thought it was all fun until i let go of it.
she freaked out and started crying.
and we have had to start connecting her binkie.
she likes to throw it out of the stroller.

the big project=done

remember that big ol' diaper bag i made for eddie's cousin here
well she had her baby last saturday and she's a doll!
and the bag arrived yesterday.
so i'm assuming she's seen it by now.

here it is with a matching changing pad.
i loved the pattern of the material.
very caribbean looking...
considering they live in the caribbean.
i figured she could use it as a beach bag as well
it's big enough.
i had so much fun making it.
but it was a lot of work.
especially for it being my first bag.
i love how it turned out.
a cute little outside pocket.
i thought it made a good spot for keys or a cell phone.
or the emergency binkie.
now onto my next huge project....
a quite book! wish me luck.

word to the wise

do not assume when you see a dark object in your baby's crib
that it is a piece of the dark purple or black felt
you were cutting the previous night.
she is notorious for finding any scrap
and putting it in her beaver cheeks for hiding.

i went to pick up the piece of 'felt'
and my fingers squashed together
yeah...sick...took me a few seconds to figure out it wasn't felt.
i immediately tried to wake the dead.
after yelling his name at the top of my lungs 3 times...
he finally heard me.
i needed help holding her down
since every movement was producing more rabbit turds out the back of her p.j's.
yuck! no plums and bananas in the same meal
anymore for you missy moo!
she is full of facial expressions lately.
and attitude.
she's been sleeping like this lately too.
and yes she has p.j's but i left her in her outfit
since we didn't really get ready for the day until like 4 p.m.

new twist on the new design

seriously! it turned out so cute!!
i think this is her 7th purple headband.
headbands are like shoes, you can never have enough.
this was this morning while still in her p.j.'s
minutes after i finished it.
i love that she is always in a good mood in the morning.
outfit #1
i have a ton of 6-12 month old navy jeans.
and none fit her. she can't bend at the waist.
nor can she bend her knees to crawl.

her new $3 shoes from gap, thank you very much!
the only shoes i have ever paid full price for, were her blessing shoes.

is this dress not to die for?
i wish i had $40 to waste on this perfectly good dress at gap.
outfit #2
same size from the same place
but she can actually breath and move in these black pants

i thought this was so cute and girly.
she likes to play with my pocket mirror.
she was checking herself out.
looking pretty cute today.
if i do say so, myself.
even if she has drool marks all down her shirt.

endless fun

emi loves to play with this bracelet.
she use to chew on it.
but now she likes to put it around her foot and pull.
keeps her busy for a long time.
caught mid-sentence.
i mean mid-yell.
the girl is constantly babbling.
by the time i caught a smile she was looking away.
but i still think she looks cute in this picture.
why is it the cheapest toys are the most entertaining toys?

a moving target

seriously...
this whole eating business is getting messier by the day.
she has great bobbing and weaving skills.
and will turn her head in a split second,
making the spoonful of food hit her cheeks.
she also likes to spit out her food if she is full.

christmas edition flowers

i made emi some christmas flowers
to wear with her pretty red christmas dresses.
these are horrible pictures by the way.
each of these are custom.
i never know how many petals i will use.
so cutting out 25+ of these petals can become tedious.
new design.
also hand cut...i just drew a flower.
then cut it out to different sizes.
a lot of people have asked how i make them.
so i thought i would let you know.
this is my new favorite.
it's simple but so cute!
i thought about making three of these and adding them to a onesie.
but for now it will be a headband.
the original felt flower pattern.
it's ok...
a lot of people have asked me, if i am going to open an etsy shop.
i have mixed feelings.
i want to, but then i don't.
so to answer your questions.
i'm still thinking about it :)

a good mix

i was looking through some old pictures.
and emi definitely has eddie's nose and hands.
but has my eyes and hair (texture, not color)

here is eddie
he would be like a month younger
than emi is now.
eddie claims we need one of these football things for storage.

eddie showing off his one pack.
best, close and straight facing picture i could find of emi.
amber at a year old.
i seriously can not wait until emi's hair gets this long.

her hair looks like mine does in this pic.
except it is darker, obviously.
i think she's a good mix of us.

another tooth!

please excuse the big ol' booger in her nose.
her front tooth came in sometime in that past few days.
not a single sign of teething, except for drool.
eddie gets upset when i pin her down to get a picture.
she put on a show for him...
too bad i know it's alligator tears!
faker!!
do you see a tear? cause i don't!
then she got over the whole thing real quick.
hmm...ok,fine...i'm so over it anyway!
is exactly what she is thinking.
and here's a pic for the grandparents.

it's offical...she's crawling!

she is just crawling to things she wants.
not to explore yet. which is nice.
if there are magazines or x-mas bows in reach...
she is so there.
or she has been obsessed with the popcorn bag.
