outside fun

emi and ozzy are becoming great friends.
every afternoon after lunch but before nap time
emi and i go outside and play with ozzy.
the pictures below are of her giving him a treat.
the second picture of her pouting...he was chasing her around
trying to eat the treat out of her hand.
and obviously she wasn't too happy about it.

emi also loves the kitty's.
my parents have 3 "feral" cats, bought feral to catch mice...
which have turned into house cats
meaning they eat cat food, and not so many mice.
every time emi is near the cats she rubs her face on their fur.

they are still kind of wild cats {not use to a 2 year old smothering them}
so when emi is super excited to see them
they usually turn and run!
her reaction is anywhere from confusion, to laughing to saying no! as they run away.

but when they do let her pet them.
she sure is one happy girl!!

emi is really into hiding.
she thought she was hiding behind the tree i guess.
because she kept turning around and saying boo!
while we were exploring the outdoors
emi showed me she knew how to throw rocks into the pond.
she would say woohoo! if it splashed.
and say oh! all disappointed if the rock didn't make it in.
i took the picture of the lily pads while we were throwing rocks.
i like how it turned out, i think i might even print it someday.
emi watching the fish swim around.
she kept asking where it's mama was?
the reason for being outside? besides the perfect 70 degree weather...
eddie was washing the truck.
last time he washed the car she was napping.
i can't wait until summer, so she can wear her bathing suit and get wet.

i love her!
there are few things i wanted to jot down about emi.
she is seriously a crack up lately.
  • emi says: shoosh! which means be quite/shut it/leave me alone                                                     {it's usually accompanied by a hand wave.}
  • she loves to trace her hand, and usually chooses that over coloring
  • is sleeping in her own bed! with the door shut...and no crying!                                                         {i hope i don't jinx the situation}
  • loves pineapple and freeze dried bananas
  • puts grapes in her cheeks to be funny
  • shoosh away! means go away!
  • says, i pay {play} ALL the time! no i pay, is her usual answer.
  • emi loves to collect rocks and sticks {which will come in handy when we go camping this summer}
  • she calls me mommy or mama but when i ask her to do something, she always answers: ok mom
  • every time i hang up the phone, emi will ask if it was GG. if i say yes, she says: and ashley? if i say no, she say oh! all disappointed.
  • she will randomly say dat bunny {that's funny}

i've been working on a few things for my etsy shop.

my new favorite.
i think i'm gonna start making some burp cloth and bib sets.

0 and 2

tanner's basketball team, the wildcats...had a game on saturday.
so we went to support his team.

we also went to support eddie.
he is the assistant coach, with my dad being the head coach.
my dad had prior plans so eddie was on his own.
he did such a good job, besides flashing some plumber crack.
it was hilarious, the next team to play was totally making fun of him
i was sitting right next to them...laughing myself at what they were saying.
eddie was the butt of their joke...hahaha! no pun intended!

uh..this picture turned out small than i anticipated.
{you can click on it to make it bigger, mom}
tanner shooting a free throw.

it was interesting trying to get a good shot of tanner.
most of the pictures i thought were good...a.k.a. not blurry
turned out like the picture below.

tanner did a good job, despite losing by one point.

emi had a great time exploring the bleachers.
and i got many looks, mainly dirty ones from other parents
that i just let her roam around.

 i love them.
good job eddie, even if your coaching career is 0 and 2.

a little get together

last month my dad and older brother went to germany.
on friday night we had a little get together to have a german dinner
and watch a slide show of all of his pictures.

emi played with her baby before everyone came over.

 hmm? what mom?
she's so cute!

watching gpa get stuff ready.

emi knows where ozzy's treats are.
while we were all outside she went inside and got him a treat.
usually she just tosses it his way, but ozzy beat her to it.

this was her reaction after he ate it out of her hand.

then we watched ozzy fetch his "duck" out of the pond.

eddie was being a stinker. every time i took his picture he wouldn't smile
so i asked him to smile...and this is what he did!

eddie and i were a little worried because my cousins kids were coming to play
and emi has never had other kids play with her stuff.
at first she was having a hard time sharing.

after a while i think she understood she needed to share.
and by the end of the night she was having a blast sharing.

tanner had fun too entertaining the kids.

it was fun to have a little german get together and see pictures from his trip
and to also see pictures of his family/cousins that still live in germany.

track meet

tanner had his first track meet of the season for his junior high.
it was so nice to be able to go and support him.

even if he didn't really want us to come.
i think his exact words were:
why don't you just come to my basketball game, i'm actually good at that.
{which we will be going to as well}
i'm pretty sure i was the only one there taking pictures...
and i could tell he was a little embarrassed.
or maybe it was because we cheered, go tanner go! when it was his turn.

tanner participates in the shot put...
which he is really good at.
{i tried it and it's super hard to do.}

he also does the discus throw.
i think he did super good and we are all proud of his hard work.

my dad and eddie also helped out with the events tanner did.
and my dad probably didn't realize he was doing this...
but every time a student would throw the discus, he would lean back a little.

ashley also made it to the track meet.
her husband david and her flew in this morning
to greet his little brother, who came home from his mission this morning.

and of course emi came, along with my mom
despite the freezing wind, we stayed the entire time.
and i think it is hilarious how tanner holds emi. like an infant.
he must not know how to hold a baby on your hip.
but emi doesn't seem to mind.

good job tanner!
can't wait for your next basketball game and track meet.

playing at the park

we went to the doggie park today.
she wasn't so sure what to think.
she wanted to explore but then got nervous
when a small pack of dogs would be running towards her, who wouldn't?

emi and eddie

i just have to point out this picture.
my gma, my mom and me all do this!
and i even think my gma's mom did it...

tanner had a blast pushing emi on the swing.
eddie and i had to mention a few times
that, that was high enough. ha! she loved it though.
and when it went to a soft swing she would yell more!

and this is for his mama.
because who doesn't love a picture of their oldest baby.

hide and seek

yesterday i had the scare of my life.
i thought i lost emi, in my parents house!
my parents house is pretty huge, especially compared to our apartment.
so it can be easy to be at one end of the house and not hear anything on the other side of the house.
my parents doors are heavy and she can't open them.
but they do have a pool and jacuzzi out back and a pond out front.

so there i was vacuuming the house.
i was actually vacuuming my parents room.
emi and i were home alone
and i realized i hadn't heard her for more than 30 second.
so i went looking for her. i called her name. looked in every room.
she was no where.
then i started to get mad. i was yelling her name mad.
still no response.
then i started freaking out!
so then i started screaming her name.
the only place i hadn't checked was my parents bathroom.
i went into my parents bathroom and on my way back into their room
i noticed the sliding glass door was ajar but the screen was closed.
i thought to myself...there is no way she could have gone out that door.
i was vacuuming in here when i went looking for her!
then i really started freaking out!
could she be outside, in the pool!? the pond!?!
i walked into our bedroom to grab my phone to call eddie.
because by then i was totally freaking out.
and what do i see! her feet!!
sweet relief! i was so mad and so happy at the same time.

i knew i needed to take a picture, for my memory.
after she realized i was in there, she sat up.
what did she do after i took this picture? laughed her guts out!!
yes in the end it was a good trick on me.
but oh man! was i scared.
and who knew she even knew what hide and seek was.
