vegas 11'

last weekend we headed to vegas for my oma's birthday

we walked around indoors where there was air conditioning.

staying up super late.

 

 had fun with cousins (my cousins)

enjoyed frozen hot chocolate.

{have i ever mentioned emi loves anything chocolate}

caught eddie window shopping :)

watched some mall performers.

danced around.

rode the elevator...all ready for the day

we enjoyed laying out by the pool

not liking the cotton candy

she has some texture issues i think because sometimes she loves cotton candy

and other times she makes faces like this

lucky for me, i got two cotton candies.

we had a lovely time. ate at a buffet for oma's birthday.

did all the typical things you can do in vegas

for people that don't gamble and drink :)

truckee

for mom's birthday we headed up to truckee to go hiking.

we were able to borrow a backpack to carry emi

which she loved and wanted to hang out in it earlier in the day

when eddie was trying it out.

 

 she just chilled in there while we all slipped out of our flip flops

into hiking/tennis shoes.

tanner was 'thrilled' to go hiking

i couldn't help myself tanner. love you!

we rode the gondola up and ate lunch.

emi was so excited! of course she picks the biggest rock to try to pick up.

eddie was excited to be outdoors.

he finally had a reason to wear his hiking boots.

such beautiful views!

 

not even 10 minutes into our hike emi got heavy eyes.

and fought going to sleep.

she also refused to let go of her corn dog.

she finally fell asleep. and i was able to snatch the corn dog from her.

once we got back on the gondola to go down

she woke up and enjoyed the ride down.

she is one brave girl.

she was actually sitting way to the left and then she noticed the window was open

so she scooted over to look out the window.

she will smile but she won't look my way. silly girl.

swimming

we wanted to see if emi could "swim" better with a life vest

so we tried one out for a day.

emi has the technique down...but doesn't stay afloat 

she kicks and doggie paddles her arms but doesn't get her head above water.

 

i thought this picture was funny

eddie obviously tightened the bottom strap a little tight.

the life vest just turned her onto her back

which she isn't the biggest fan of....

she loved swimming and would say 'let go!' to eddie.

we decided the life vest wasn't the best

and since one of us is always swimming with her

we can just continue to help her.

hopefully aunt ashley can teach her to swim next weekend in vegas.

a quick visit

we took a quick trip to oregon to visit momo and poppy

here are some pictures i took with my phone.

{went to the beach...got some lunch}

{lots of resting....}

{the beach tired everyone out}

{heaven forbid her toes were hanging out...had to take a picture}

we had a great time!

thank you for whining and dining us...we enjoyed ourselves.

can't wait to go back in september hopefully.

the fourth

we had such a fun fourth.

we finally found a family in our ward that we have fun with.

they have a set of twins and a boy emi's age.

we had them over for a BBQ and swimming

and then met up later for fireworks.

eddie must smell something funny...

or he is looking more and more like his gpa :)

they had these little people chairs and emi loved it

she totally took over the pink one.

and ate their food {sorry}

 she loved the fireworks and was pooped by the end of the night

she was asleep before we even got out of the parking lot.

*lately all my pictures have been from my phone.

i haven't even unzipped my camera bag.

need to get it out and take some pictures!
