well well well...
another week has past!
doing these weekly updates sure does make the week go by fast.
gpa honey made gpa honey popcorn
emi's favorite. she was in heaven!
up past her bed time, enjoying her favorite treat.

tanner is getting a pig soon, for his school class
gpa and daddy were out back clearing things out
emi wanted to go see what they were doing.
emi loves being outside, funny thing is...she doesn't like to get dirty
emi in her back up outfit , all princess shirts were in the wash...at least that is what she thought :)
eddie is the YM basketball coach
we went to cheer him and tanner on
tanner also pinned his first guy this day...good job tanner!
but only my mom was there cause we were all at the b-ball game
cause he snuck away from his tournament to play in the b-ball game
only rushing back to barely make his match.
oh emi...you are too little to give up your naps!
poor mommy needs a break from princesses, puzzles and candyland
this is the only nap emi took all week.
if i even mention taking a nap she snaps...no! i not sleepy.
i only sleep at night. when it's dark outside.
so when we move i will get some blackout shades for her room
and hopefully then she will be back on the nap bandwagon.
i love this picture for two reasons
it's not a princess book :)
and second, she has a ton of books.
makes me happy we have so many kids books.
we probably have 3 big boxes full of other kids books.
i can't wait to see how big our collection is when we unpack them.
eddie can now say he has been to old town sac
he wasn't impressed. good thing they had rocky mt. for a caramel apple.
there is also some fry place i think we might need to go back for
they have them topped in different ways from different countries.
i also was told the train museum was free, nope $9
we opted for the free one outside.
eddie asking emi what she wants...
a milkshake. go figure.
she thought we were going to in n out
where she always gets a milkshake.
nope, we went to burt's on their 50% burger night. yum!
ever met a little girl with 2 ipods?
one for movies and one for tv shows
sheesh...it's bad but we can at least have a conversation
without worrying about her undoing all the sugar packets
or pushing every button on the jukebox at the table
or trying to open the creamer or ketchup...etc..
i actually purposely didn't bring my purse with the phones in it.
eddie caved and gave her his phone so she could watch lady and the tramp.
speaking of phones. the other day we were out running errands
my excuse usually is, they are charging, or i don't have my purse.
we were literally driving down the drive way and emi asks
mom: you have your purse? i was like uh....yeah, why?
she said i need my yellow phone.
she totally caught me off guard. smart girl!
emi is on hair protest.
she doesn't want her hair washes or styled in anyway.
i put this 'ponytail' in one morning while she was eating
because she kept eating her hair.
i think i found a solution to the styling portion of the problem.
i convinced emi i would do her hair like rapunzel. in braids.
she loved it, and basically will only wear her hair this way
and she refuses to wear bows, which is funny since she has a billion
emi is silly about bedtime.
brush teeth, potty, say goodnight to everyone
turn the princesses, read two stories cause she is 2
then our prayers and hugs and kisses goodnight
followed by turning on her music, nightlight and turning off the light
she then says leave the door open a little bit, which actually means
leave the door open all the way!
the silly thing is, is when we do hugs and kisses
we have to stretch our legs open wide like eddie is pictured below
at this point she is the boss, we just want her in bed :)
i'm a little nervous about disneyland in a month.
emi has always been really scared of the chick fil a cow
she even goes as far as asking if he is inside,
if she doesn't see him waving at cars outside.
she did have one good run in, but i think it was cause eddie was there
sitting right next to her, she said he was nice
this day he wasn't there at all...so we thought.
we ate lunch then i let her play. there was a birthday party going on.
i think the kids were anywhere from 5-7 years old.
she was peacefully playing when one of the mom's pokes her head in
to let the boys know that the cow is going to come say hi and for them to come out.
emi about lost it. she said, we need to go! right now.
i said you are ok, he won't come in here. then she saw him...
dun, dun, dun...walking our direction...she started hysterically crying.
oh and when the door opened for a boy to come in or go out
she screamed at the top of her lungs.
i felt so bad for her. all i could do was hold her.
then the cow had the nerve to open the door and wave at
everyone inside the play structure area that wasn't part of the party.
my hopes aren't high for disneyland but i hope she isn't petrified the entire time.
we went home after chick fil a to do some art therapy :)
emi impressed me with her cutting skills.
i found these workbooks at costco and she loves the different activities.
since she refused her nap, we also went to the children's museum.
where she worked on her cutting skills some more.
this is how emi looks/acts when another kid is having a meltdown
like she doesn't get it. thank emi for (knock on wood) never being like that.
best $12 i ever spent at costco.
i found these puzzles when the christmas toys first came out.
i have spent all week, doing all 8 of these puzzles in a row.
she uses her "map" (the wrapping label) to see where it goes.
she is actually pretty good at them.
i've also had to play candyland almost everyday.
we had to have a talk about she can't win every time.
when she gets a double color she gets all excited
and runs around until it's her turn again.
see! the crazy no style hair! it's driving me crazy.
emi loves to help me prepare any meal.
i don't think she has ever tried (knock on wood) to ever climb the counter.
and on friday tanner had a birthday party... will post about that later
anyways, his cake was on the counter
i told her no i wouldn't lift her onto the counter to see it
so what does she do? stands on a chair, feet away from the counter
she didn't even think to move the chair.
i love that i have such a safe, non wild child.
maybe she just knows my rules and there is no point to trying?
emi is crazy.
every time she takes her clothes off lately
she has to shake them out, and then hang them over her basket.
inside out! drives me crazy when i do the laundry.
i don't say anything, i just let her do her thing.
we played more puzzles.
with a big wad of gum in her cheek.
you can see the "map" behind her.
when she gets stuck, she references the "map"
if that doesn't help she asks me
i can't show her or actually touch it
i just have to say, that matches that color dress
or hey, that looks like so and so
if i then help, she say ok, ok! like i got it!
i never knew i would have to be so patient as a parent
i guess i am just getting warmed up for when she learns to read
and i have to listen and wait for her to sound each word/letter out :)
the night of tanner's party we decided to go get some dinner
it was raining and windy and didn't want to go too far
so we went to the local bbq place. good but expensive.
emi announced when we got there she wanted ribs
good thing the have a kid rib plate.
she ate two before she said they were too spicy, their rub is spicy
we still haven't had anything even close to bootleg in KY :(
tonight we headed to ikea to look for some office decor
no luck there. so we ate dinner then headed to our favorite ice cream place.
they have the best lemon custard!
eddie and i usually get a 50/50
its like a shaved ice substance, ice cream then topped with the shaved ice.
not sure why it's called a 50/50, but it's good.
anyways, we decided to just get emi one of these tiny cones for $1
our order was served and emi looked at the tiny cone, like you kidding me?
then she said she wanted the orange one, my ice cream.
i got mango flavored shaved ice, luckily emi thought it was gross
and happily picked up the ice cream cone.
until she finished her ice cream and wanted some of my lemon custard
then she decided the mango shaved ice wasn't that bad.
until next week :)
tanner's birthday is tomorrow, so i'll post about that later
after his birthday tomorrow probably. for those interested.
