weekly update

gigga what? i'm actually blogging on a sunday
my personal goal to get it done while eddie is home.

this is our month for music makers
so from wednesdays from 9:30-11:30
we sing songs, have a craft, eat a snack and read a book.
i got a wild hair and thought tie dyeing t-shirts would be a great idea.
let's just say, three of us moms had tie dye hands all week.
emi loves her shirt! and makai had fun trying to touch lincoln.
he is like 3 or 4 months younger, then there was gavin who is just a month old.

this boy seriously loves his sissy.
she was being silly and acting crazy.
if he isn't laughing at her, he is admiring her
he looks all around if he can't see her
and if emi is at my parents he acts lost, like he is missing something.

anybody want a sassy 4 year old for a day?
she was mad because i wouldn't let her watch another movie.
she seriously would watch movies all day, if i let her
i explained i didn't want her to and suggested all sorts of other options
and that if she is going to watch that much tv, her brain will turn to mush
her response was: it's ok...brains are mushy!
between a difficult baby and this sassy frass....
my days can become long and difficult.

eddie's parents bought this t-shirt for emi
way back when we lived in louisville.
the plan was for her to wear it as a night gown but she never would.
now that it actually fits she wears it sometimes. as a last resort. little stinker.
not sure what's up with her awkward smile.

watching brave. she seriously was so scared
and i think i skipped through more than half of the movie
which is weird because she has watched it many times
know what is going to happen and has never been scared before.
i finally decided to take a picture while feed makai cause i thought it was hilarious.

we are hoping to close this week, so while eddie was home
i tried to get as much work out of him as possible.
which wasn't much :) we both hate moving and all that goes with it.

see....eddie in the background. not too much help.
oh makai....he is refusing to sleep in is bed
or in the swing or in our bed.
he just wants to sleep on me. all day. and all night.
he was feverish again this week...but all his visible teeth are in.
so i'm not sure what the issue is.
we also think he out weighs the swing as it barely swings
the max weight is 20 pounds...which he could possibly be
his 9 month appt is on the 18th, so we will find out.

miss emi all ready for church.
she is really bad at the forced smile lately.
more like she is in pain smile.
she loves that crown so much and it wears it all day
when wearing her purple dress.

makai is refusing to be held to sleep in public or to be put in his car seat.
luckily he fell asleep while nursing right before church
and i was able to put him in his car seat while i finished getting ready.
except he wakes up at the littlest noise...
so of course he woke up when we got to church.
then was fussy and miserable the rest of church because he was so tired and fought it
seriously the baby from hell lately.
of course i love him...i know i don't speak too highly of him
but he makes me want no other children most days.
nothing is sugar and sweet with him.
maybe we got lucky with emi and he is just normal.
but he makes me feel not cut out for this job most days.

less than 5 minutes

this all happened within 5 minutes.
probably less, i technically didn't time it.

crawled as fast as he could to catch up with emi.

boom! she slammed the door shut
less than a foot away....almost!

so he has started sucking his thumb a tiny bit
when is he nervous he put the tip of his thumb in his mouth
then eventually he remembers he can suck it.

i crawled away to distract him from crying like a big wienie.

almost caught me.

he finally caught up.

here comes the proof emi still has only child syndrome.

she goes to great lengths for him not to touch her stuff.

but he likes the challenge.

this is what happens when i get down on the floor with the camera.

his first interaction with the lens cap.
emi use to love the lens cap.

poor child and his crazy hair.

hmm....to get the stroller on the couch or play with the lens cap

yelling. he loves to yell.
let me know...he's going for it.
and i might need to save him.

while she wasn't looking he lunged for it.
as quickly and quite sloppy, i might add.
it's really the wheels he wants.

first move....elbow to the neck.
back up brotha!

the elbow didn't work...
so she gave him a push.
she is seriously so mean to him
can't wait for him to hold his own.

he wasn't about to give up...

while she was guarding the stroller
he went for her books. ha!
phew! it can be exhausting. and i just took the pictures.
everyday we have to talk about sharing
and how eventually most of her toys will be his toys.

we can't wait

we i can't wait for:
a bath to bathe the kids
a soaker tub to soak in
not sharing a bathroom with the kids
having a garage
a closet in every room
central air and heating
a garbage disposal
having a laundry room on the same floor
no stairs!!
a office/craft/playroom
checking my own mail
a backyard
a place of our own.

we finally found a house! and we couldn't be more excited.
it's turn key ready with lots of potential and upgrades.
by far the best condition but not the largest house we looked at.
and since our offer has been accepted...
houses the same size and neighborhood have gone up 20-30k
awesome...instant equity.
just paperwork left, so i figure it is basically official.
we are hoping to move in memorial day weekend.
less than 2 weeks...i guess i should start packing.
the timing couldn't have been better.
as the son of the people we rent from just got married
and they never found a place, can't afford anything
so they moved into the house...with his parents.
so weird to me they got married and went on a 10 day honeymoon
only to come home and have no clue where they would be living.
they kind of knew we were looking but we didn't really tell anyone
because the market is crazy right now.
one house, not this one...we had made an offer on, had 37 other offers.
seriously so crazy. and so hard to go 'house shopping'
and not get too excited about the house cause it would be a super slim chance
you would even be considered anyways.
but we are super excited and can't wait!!

10 mile trail run

still trying to figure out eddie's desire to run...for fun
i obviously only run if my life is in danger.

eddie signed up for a 10 mile trail run
early saturday morning we headed up to the city of cool
i think there was just a stop sign, no light in the town.

eddie doesn't seem to do these runs for competition
just to finish and to be able to say to himself that him finished.
so i wasn't surprised he went way to the back of the crowd to line up.

so i am standing there waiting to take his picture.
there were all sorts of people dressed in black.
i swore i missed him...then all of a sudden
here he came running around those ladies that were walking.

for the first hour or so...i walked around with makai in the ergo carrier.
we were both getting sweaty, as the high was suppose to be 96 degrees
it was also getting to be his nap time, so i went and put him in the stroller
he was out before i even walked 100 feet.
as i was waiting for eddie at his estimated time.
makai had woken up from all the screaming and cheering by the finish line.
i debated for a good 10 minutes if i was going to give makai his snack i had brought
for fear i would miss eddie cross the finish.
sure enough....as i turned towards the finish line after giving makai his snack
eddie had just crossed the finish line and was looking for us.
darn, missed the picture...he was red and sweaty....and had to pee :)
he always makes me nervous after his races.
the first thing out of his mouth is usually asking me where the bathroom is
i thought always goes to runner butt, or whatever
it is called when people crap their pants while running.
another reason why i would never run for fun.

emi spent the night friday night with gpa and tanner.
gma was out of town visiting gg.
she went to bed late and woke up early to help in the garden.
emi had a wonderful time and was a sweaty mess when we picked her up.

i was told she planted the corn herself.
and watered the plants
otherwise she was busy riding her new trike.

she was ready to go by the time we came to get her.
can you believe all her clothes fit in her backpack.
she needed her suitcase for her blanket and dolls.

weekly update

trying to stay on track :) my pictures are a little out of order but that's ok.

for mother's day we met my dad's side of the family up at a casino buffet.
it was so yummy...and they had crab legs, my fav
makai was a royal pain, eating like we never feed him
and spilling 75% of what he grabbed to eat onto the floor.
then when he was done eating he kept throwing his toys off the table
eventually he went back in his car seat...
where he ended up crying to be let out. dang baby.

after we ate tanner took emi to plan games in the arcade.
he was so nice to let her have all his tickets.
she got a ring pop...her favorite.

dun...dun...dun....i have yet to do his 8 month update.
maybe on thursday? don't hold your breath.
makai is seriously the worst sleeper ever. not sure if it's from teething.
he basically doesn't sleep more than 6 hours at a time at night.
i fight him every evening to keep him up until 7pm
he sleeps until about 11:30, sometimes he wakes up earlier....sometimes later.
so i tend to stay up...waiting for him to wake up.
once he wakes up...he will not go back to sleep in his crib
nor will he sleep in bed with us.
he will only go back to sleep in the swing...which he fights some nights
otherwise he just wants to be held.

emi has been dying to wear this dress.
one of eddie's co-workers sent this for emi from hawaii
and makai has a matching shirt.
can you believe she bought it from sears. ha!
i secretly wanted to try to take it back here at the local sears...
just to see what they would say
the other day she said: i know where i need to go!
i said: where? she said: hawaii, i've never been there
i said: yeah! tell your daddy.

poor emi. she wasn't feeling too well this day.
i had a few errands to run, one being the library.
we went to the library....she loves the library
so when she asked if we could go home, i knew something was up
she said she was tired and wanted to take a nap
jigga what!? miss no nap...was requesting a nap.
i explained what errands i needed to do while in town.
we kind of live in the country and we were "in town"
we literally drove down the street to the next destination....and she was asleep.
so i put makai in the cart and carried her.
i should have just gone home but it was my last errand.

she stayed asleep and i carried her in
put her into bed, where she slept 2 more hours !?!
so weird. as i carried her up the stairs she felt hot
sure enough she had a 101 temp.

a couple hours later she was as good as new.
no fever....and playing the 'violin'.
except when dinner time rolled around she wouldn't eat.
she said she wasn't hungry.

got a new phone and i can't figure out the flash, auto flash....etc
but i loved how blue his eyes looked in this picture.
and his hair looks super light.
i wonder if his hair will get this light from the sun.
he really, really wants to feed himself which makes a huge mess.

oh his teething probably deserves a post of it's own.
he basically has been teething the last two months.
his upper teeth finally broke through...took so long
the second front tooth looked 'almost through' for so long.
he is up to 7 teeth...4 on the bottom and the 3 on top.
watch out he bites. he might act like he is snuggling
or giving you a kiss but really...he will bite you.

emi always wants to hold makai
and then 2 seconds later she is like...
ok, come get him off me.
at least she doesn't just push him off, right?
she hadn't seen him most of this day so she needed to hold him.

nakie bear. he is so wiggly at diaper changes
and fusses and arches to get away...already.
if i can distract him with something to chew on he is fine
otherwise it's a lost cause.
luckily he has only peed once or twice....and not that much.

on friday the youth from church had a spaghetti feed fundraiser
for scout camp and YW camp
they had a silent, live and dessert auction.
gpa won this trike for emi. she loves it.
she insisted we stop talking and go outside last time we were over.

sending a quick e-mail before bed.
i was looking for something for makai to play with while i put her to bed
since practically everything she 'owns' is off limits for him
so i dug around her toy chest and found her laptop.
she hadn't played for it in forever...so i thought she wouldn't care.
wrong. gasp! i've been looking all over for it!
and she quickly typed an e-mail.

this is how i spend my afternoons anywhere from 2-3 hours.
if i lay him in his crib he sleeps less than an hour.
emi usually watches a movie or has quite time while this is happening.
depending on how my previous night went
i usually sleep, read or catch up on shows
i wish it was winter, cause he is a personal furnace.

so glad melon season is here.
emi ate a watermelon in less than 24 hours.
she loves fruit, especially any kind of melon.

emi found this headband somewhere and thought she looked hilarious.
she left it on all evening and night.
finally when she went to bed, i asked her if she was going to sleep in it.
she had completely forgotten she had it on.

sometime during last week we went to the mall
eddie had an exchange. so while he was exchanging his hat
we hit up the disney store.
she loved seeing all the sofia the first animals
good thing they were sold out of the sofia plush doll
or she might have had a melt down if we would have left without it.
