nashville trip

my mom had some business in nashville this past weekend

she decided to come a few days early to visit
and then we would all drive down together
while she worked, we would play

emi waiting at the airport
she entertained lots of people
by running around like a crazy person.
and getting into everything that was in reach.
emi and gma

the drive to nashville is short
less than 3 hours.
we arrived sunday afternoon
we were a little early to check into our hotel
so we headed to borders to waste time in the A/C.
and who did we see, within 30 minutes of being in nashville
keith urban and nicole kidman...

emi enjoying the stairs at borders
she could careless about spotting famous people.
back at the hotel....
emi really liked gma's tags on her suitcase.
and exploring the room.
we attended the last concert of the CMA concert week.
the music was good...but the heat
was awful! like 85 plus degrees at 1o at night
with no breeze...just humidity!!
after dancing her booty off, emi crashed
i couldn't believe she slept through a concert
this is the same child that wakes up to me turning a page.

monday morning while gma was working.
we decided to go tour nashville.
until we stepped outside
and it was 97 degrees plus humidity.

emi enjoying her morning apple.

we ended up hanging out at some fancy mall.
that was nice and cool.
went to arnold's for lunch...not nice and cool.
then later in the day we decided to go to the park.
that lasted all of 10 minutes.

while there we saw some fish in the water.
emi was watching some man fishing.
laughing with daddy about something.

starting to get sweaty, very quickly.

begging me to take her to get some sorbet.she twisted my arm!

emi was in heaven.
i'm glad i took her shirt off
cause she was messy!!

the rest of the time we spent driving around nashville

the heat was seriously unbearable!
we also ate at Jack's and Martin's, having ribs both times
in case you wanted to know.
jack's meat was more moist and fell of the bone
but martin's bbq sauce was much better.

nashville reminded eddie and i of vegas
unless you drink
there isn't much to do besides
shop and lay by the pool.

da-da

we have this polaroid of eddie

from two halloweens ago.
it's kind of my blackmail picture of eddie
for the blackmail picture he has of me with a fish hat on
which is also a polaroid...weird.
i'd scan them so you could see
but i can't seem to find the one of me, darn!

anyways.... this is emi's reaction
pretty much every time.

she see's it.
and picks it up.

looks at it.
sometimes i ask who it is.
other times she says da-da!

she then either smiles real big.
or does her shocked/surprised/excited face.
while pointing of course.

then if eddie isn't home she will
say da-da and point, somewhere.
if he is home...she looks at him
usually with the shocked/surprised/excited face.

she sure is melting our hearts these days
with the silly, cute things she does.

p.s. my father in law sent me a new lens to try out....

and i'm still getting use to it
that is why some photos are out of focus and blurry.

bath time

i love her big brown eyes!

and her curly hair....

she sure has had a change of heart about bath time.
she doesn't hate it, but she doesn't love it anymore.
sometimes she is in and out in less than 5 minutes.

she likes to stand, which is a no..no

and there isn't a night that doesn't go by
that i have to smell her feet and act like they are stinky.

she lifts her feet in the air and waits for me to
sniff and say pee...ewww!

such a girl...

emi is so girly!
and i love it.

she will seriously find anything and make it a purse.
hence the water bottle wrapper.
or her water floaty thing.

i need to catch a picture with all of her gear on.
(purses, necklaces, bracelets and her sunglasses)
makes me wonder if she is ready for dress up clothes.

one person ribbon party

my brother asked me to make a few bows for my niece.
and i was super excited to
finally put all my ribbon to good use.
what a mess though!

here are some i made today.
i plan to do a few more butterflies...
and maybe a big korker (twisty) one.

and these i made for emi
i actually prefer her hair to the side
rather than slicked back in a ponytail
i'm hoping she will keep these clips in.

this is from this morning
before church...i was so excited
she actually has a dress with bumble bees on it.

i tried to get a bunch done while she was napping
i was mid ribbon making when she woke up
so i trapped her in her highchair.
a.k.a... feed her lunch and lots of graham crackers.

let me see....

if i ever say, let me see....she a.l.w.a.y.s. sticks her tongue out
as if i want to check her mouth
for something she isn't suppose to have.
at least she is a good listener and always shows me.

babies: the movie

emi and i went to see it this afternoonit was cute
and emi liked it
and what was nice was
if emi made noise because she saw a cat
or a baby was crying
and she was pointing saying baby...
over and over and over
no one cared
because they were all there to watch these cute little babies.

the dvd comes out in october,
in case anyone was waiting to rent it instead of going to the theater.

photoshoot

i just learned about picnik
i think i'm addicted.
it took literally two seconds to edit these pictures.
where it takes me forever to figure out photoshop
(which by the way, does anyone know of any good photoshop tutorials online?
that isn't in computer jiberish? i get so confused with terminology and what not}

i had the opportunity today to take some photos
of some families in our ward.
these were my favorite.

first scratch

emi took a nose dive off of a step
landed square on her button nose
she's doing just fine.
i was more upset about it than she was.

it's not very deep
so hopefully it won't scar.

super tiny mini vacation

today we decided to head to cincinnati's children's museum

since it's just a 2 hour drive.
then we hit up the outlets but came home empty handed

emi was a little young
but had the best time.

such a happy girl!
super duper excited for the unknown

this was by far her favorite activity

as you can tell by her facial expressions

go from point a to point b
