emi's spot

emi has claimed her spot on the couch.
every morning she comes and lays in the same spot
if she is still sleepy, otherwise she starts to play.

when she runs from us...she goes to that spot.
(that's her mischievous face...i'm gonna pee on this pillow if you don't let me have this)
when i ask her if she wants a snack
she goes to the spot and waits

these next two pictures are as we speak.
she's watching sesame street, thanks to the dvr.

oh and she is attached to that dang baby!
and the baby must be wrapped in the blanket.
and lately it has to come everywhere with us.

this is my latest project i have been working on.
i'm almost done!
i started it on monday and have only worked on it when she is sleeping.
they are turning out super cute and i can't wait to use them.

and this is my next project....
that is if i have all the colors in scraps.

a visit to the zoo

i've been waiting for eddie to be able to go to the zoo with us

so i could take pictures of emi on the carousel. i was surprised she held on the whole time.

after waving to her each time she went by...
she finally figured out she could let go with one hand
and wave back to me.

enjoying every second of it!she didn't look to excited to hear it was over.

we were able to see our favorite part of the zoo...
the elephants

i finally convinced eddie to go into the petting zoo

it was kind of gross and dusty.
emi loved it...and that's all that matters.

but getting a close up of this ugly fella was so worth it me.
i laughed for a good five minutes at his teeth.

three in one

i could do three different posts for these pics but i'm lazy.

number one:
and yes i know here bib is a mess and it has been washed.
since she hasn't been showing any allergic
reactions to milk or eggs products
i let her lick the beaters from making whip cream

she obviously thought it was delicious!!

she was saying yum!!!

number two:
i lay down paper and give emi crayons to keep her busy
while i do stuff in the kitchen.
otherwise she goes through every cupboard.

i turned around to see her doing this.
trying to color her toenail.
i guess she wants her toes done.

number three:

emi can put on her crocs by herself.
except...she puts them on the wrong feet.

she always tries to put them on the correct feet.
but usually stumbles and somehow the opposite foot goes in.

she doesn't seem bothered by it.
so until it really matters i just let her do it.

but it sure if funny looking.

yummm....watermelon

i finally caught her mischievous look on camera.
usually it is accompanied by a huge smile.

but this time she was trying to be funny.
we always laugh when she does it, who wouldn't?

she finally learned to get the red stuff and not the green edge.

she only likes watermelon if she can eat it this way.
if i cut it into pieces she won't touch it.

Busy Bees and Bows

here are just a few of the things i've made:

difference

a year and three day difference.

random people always use to tell us emi had a ton of hair.
and how they wished their babies would of had hair like her.

if only they could see it now.
oh and instead of a chair to keep her sitting up, she stands.
this is going by way too fast!

seventeen months

i seriously can't believe how fast emi is growing.
she is doing new things everyday
mainly seeing what she can do and get away with

she LOVES to color.
she gets so excited with every stroke on the paper
and has a major meltdown
if i start cleaning up before she is done.
she also holds the crayon at the very top.

emi loves to brush and floss her teeth
we had never flossed her teeth before
one day eddie gave her his used (ewww) floss to throw away
except she didn't go to the trash.
she started flossing her teeth.

she has moved on from D sounds to M sounds

new words we understand but not clear:
excuse me, what's wrong?, big bird, elmo, need/want/mine
i'm sorry, garbage, here ya go and good job
there are more but i can't think of them.

has started climbing anything and everything she can
she is very mischievous!
waiting and watching for us not to be looking
if she has something she isn't suppose to
she of course runs, but now lays on whatever it is
as if we can't just lift her up to get it from her.

sings to herself...and her baby

she can not get out of her crib unless she has her baby and bug

loves looking out the window on her step stool
loves to run, with her short little legs.

has had milk product and eggs in the last two weeks
without a single reaction!!
i am so hoping this means she has grown out of her allergies.
she loves yogurt, cheezits, string cheese and milk
her favorite snacks are bread and butter pickles or olives
still working on hand control with the spoon and fork.

she will come up to you and sniff your feet

then plug her nose and wave her hand like it stinks.
she used her thumb to make a pig nose.

when she is in trouble and knows it
she does this certain smirk...
a big smile, with one eye almost closed and her head tilted.

she is such a girly girl.
she puts on her necklaces and bracelets and "talks" on her phone
which is funny because i don't really wear jewelry.
she is just nursing once a day, starting today
hopefully in a month she will be fully weaned.
she goes to bed around 7:30, a little before or a little after
depending on her mood.
and is awake by 7:30, sometimes earlier.

she loves to have her hair combed
and MUST help put everything away.
she "swims" in the bath and dunks her face.
loves wearing shoes but can't seem to keep them on
it's a vicious cycle really.
i put them on, she takes them off, cries she can't get them back on
so i put them back on...and it all repeats...sigh.

she sure is full of personality
and is our little fire cracker.
we love watching her growing and changing everyday.

we love you emi!

another failed photoshoot

this time she wouldn't even look my direction.
unless i was up in her face.
and then she didn't really even look at me.

she was way more interested in climbing into her wagon.
in a skirt....not very lady like.

when she couldn't lift her leg high enough
due to skirt restrictions...
she chose a different route.

this would have been super duper cute picture
if she would of just look at me and smiled.
instead i sat there making all sorts of silly noises
to try to get her attention.
no such luck!

then she decided she wanted to collect rocks...

until she decided to taste them

and remembered she doesn't like the taste of rocks.
i'm sure that felt great on her canker sore.

maybe i need to get a balloon or something...
or wait until eddie can come along to help.
