poppy and momo come to visit

eddie's parents came to visit last week.
we made a little trip to cincinnati for the weekend.
we stayed right downtown.
we enjoyed walking around the city
and looking at the different sights.
on saturday we went to the aquarium.
emi was excited!!
right when the aquarium opens they do a penguin walk.
most people were expecting them to be actually waddling.
but they hitched a ride instead.
touching the star fish.
pointing to the beavers.
i know this picture is blurry.
but it was so funny because she was just sitting there
wait and waiting for us to push her, like it was a swing.
she didn't get it and threw a fit when i pulled her off.
then before we left we stopped by the huge museum.
which use to be an old train station.
it's also where the children's museum is.
we had a great time together.
and look forward to our next visit.

monster mash

this is the only picture i took of emi.
because before eddie got there
she was running around like a wild woman with all the other kids.
she refused to stand still for any pictures
and melted down when i tried to put her hood on.
we left right before the trunk or treating so she could go to bed.on our way out though
we stopped by the photo shoot they had created.
this was the only picture out of like 15
that she was looking my direction.
otherwise she was watching her back
to make sure non of those monsters were gonna move.
hopefully i will get more pictures of her in her costume.

crafting into the night

i made these to go onto gma's walker, for her birthday
you would roll if you saw the flower she has on there now.
hideous! and i will be throwing it in the trash.
i made one for each month. they turned out o.k.
i'm sure she will love them.
hopefully she will feel like she has the coolest walker in the retirement home.
originally i had made a flower so she would
be able to tell her walker apart from others.this is seriously what my craft table looks like right now.
you don't even want to see the floor.
i have been making bows every night until close to 1am.
just to be ready for a craft fair i am doing
the next weekend i get back from visiting gma.
being that this craft fair is my first one.
i have no clue on how prepared i need to be.

*also it was brought to my attention you can't comment anymore.
i believe the comment section is now moved to the top of the post for some reason.
i have no idea why or how to fix it but just putting it out there, in case you cared.

19 months

shocking! but i don't have any pictures to post. most of the pictures i have taken over the last month i have posted, so it would be nothing new.
but there are a few new things going on around here with Emi:

has 16 teeth, which she loves to brush and floss

loves to count

favorite songs are the wheels on the bus, there once was a lady who swallowed a fly, twinkle twinkle, the noble duke of york and many more

says Jesus anytime she sees a picture of Jesus

favorite word is NO!

loves grapes, waffles, yogurt, milk, graham crackers, chicken, ketchup, green beans, corn, peas, peanut butter by the spoonful, honey, tomatoes

points out airplanes and birds

wonders what the noise is: motorcycle, truck, ambulance, honk

started the terrible two's and now throws fit.

loves to play and get lots of kisses.

talking more and more everyday, we are getting good at translating around here.

refuses to sit during her bath

folds her arms for prayer and closes one eye.

wants to do things only on her terms or as if it's her idea.

every time we pull into our apartment complex, she says home

has the craziest hair....it's not sure if it wants to be straight or curly.

obsessed with ozwald

must have all contents of her crib with her when exiting the crib

when holding a hand held mirror, she will always pull down on one eye

sleeping in is 7:15

separation anxiety is in full swing again

loves books and puzzles

traumatized by nursery and freaks out when going into a room at church

*sorry about a boring no picture post.

i have a lot to catch up on. eddie's parents have been here for the past week. i have been making bows like a crazy lady for an up coming craft fair. and emi and i are leaving for utah on saturday to visit gma. busy... busy trying to get everything done!

blowing on those big lips.

rookies

the last couple times i have gone to the zoo
there have been fliers about a halloween party
and i thought it would be fun to go.
the first two weekends it is free to zoo members
then the second weekends they charge, like $8
boy am i glad we went on a free night.

we pulled a major rookie parent move.
one we didn't dress emi in her costume
and second we didn't bring a bag to collect candy
we had no clue it was just going to be trick or treating
we had to follow this line the whole way around the zoo.
shuffling our feet and moving at a snail's pace.
the only thing we really did was the maze.
they had all the animals either roped off
or they were inside their houses.
so there was nothing to really see.
emi had no clue what was going on.
she did like all the pumpkins but that's about it.
by the end of the night she was tuckered out.
or mesmerized by the other kids costumes.
oh an imagine that...we went on field trip friday again!
except the halloween "party" was after zoo hours.

emi's art work

i made these hand print flower bouquets for mother's day cards.
i decided to do the same thing with an extra canvas i had laying around.
this part turned out turned pretty good.
but the bottom, it didn't turn out how i imagined.
so i decided to improvise and do foot prints.

emi was back to herself today. thank goodness.
still a little crabby but no sickness.
and my back is feeling about 80% better.

rough couple days

it all started thursday morning.
emi woke up, like normal. i go in to get her out of her crib.
poop everywhere in her crib!
little turds spilling all out with every move.
what a wonderful way to start the day.

we went on with our day...
nothing else happened out of the ordinary.
besides her being really crabby!
crying at anything and everything...
i thought a tu-tu would help. it didn't.
i just assumed she was tired
and i would just put her to bed early.
friday she woke up crabby...maybe even crabbier than thursday if that was possible.
i was ready for eddie to come home from work by 10am.
more crying and tantrums over nothing.
she also wouldn't eat anything i offered, so she didn't eat much.

saturday eddie is off...and emi wakes up crabby again.
we had some errands to run and decide to stop by
where else...chic-fil-a of course...mama needed a treat.
emi refused to eat, which is weird because she loves chic0-fil-a
so we are driving home and all of a sudden
we hear gagging from the back seat. we both look back.
throw up was everywhere!
all over her, in her car seat, on the other seats, on the floor.
luckily we had a little towel in the car.
we drove home with the windows open, it was so smelly.
we lay her down for a nap.
i lay down because my back was hurting.
i asked eddie to go check on her a little while later.
to make sure she was sleeping.
he comes back and says, there is throw up everywhere!
so we strip down her crib as much as we could.
that's when we realized she was sleeping on a pile of it.
so i pick her up hoping she would stay asleep.
of course she didn't.
then began the process of cleaning everything.
at least her car seat got a nice deep cleaning.
and i don't really get why most dolls are surface clean only.
so the surface clean only dolls
got their surface disinfected and laid out to dry.
i decided that if she didn't throw up again
that we would go to church. well we went to church.
and she cried the entire time of nursery.
and was super duper crabby again for the rest of the day.
and my back was pretty much out.
i seriously couldn't even stand up straight
and walked around like a 85 year old woman.
that brings us to today.
emi has had diarrhea....ALL day!
eddie had to work this morning.
and i spent all morning in bed
trying to lay flat until my 4pm chiropractic appt.
i felt so bad because she just entertained herself
and would come and check on me.
and every once in a while would bring me her potty seat
or pat her bum...to tell me
she needed her diarrhea butt changed.
the chiropractor i went to...her office was ancient.
that silver thing, took my blood pressure.
one hand at a time.
i got some x-rays taken and adjustment
then i was told to take it easy
and not lift anything.
how do you do that with a crazy 18 month old!?
she's acting normal...
besides not eating and being extra crabby.
hopefully we are feeling better soon.
because we have all had a rough couple of days

at least this is happening now, instead on vacation in two weeks.
she had her flu shot last week
so maybe that is why she has a little bug.

54

that's how many pictures i took today.
54, that's ridiculous!
my goal before emi was born was
to take at least one picture a day.
i'm obviously well above that goal.

we went to two parks today.
trying to enjoy this 75 degree weather before it gets chilly.
she always chooses to go on the "bigger" kid things.
things she can climb up but can't get down from.
this is the usual face i get from her.
she isn't in pain...i'm just being a pain.
like, what? i was just about to run across this bridge.
why do you have to keep taking pictures!
(just for the record, i usually take a few pictures, then play with her)
this morning we had our first wardrobe discussion.
for some smart reason, i decided to give her a choice
as to which jacket she would rather wear.
as if she is old enough to make those kind of choices. silly me.
so of course she wore both.
which turned out to be a good thing, because it was freezing!
this picture is blurry. but i think it is funny.
she can say more and again.
but she chooses to sign more. silly girl.

brushy brush

i love when eddie is home for bedtime.
he is always so willing to help out.
i love how she is on her tippie toes.
it's interesting to see how eddie and i do things so differently
but she still goes with the flow of things.
(sad this picture is blurry)
once we brush her teeth, we let her brush them
then she rinses her toothbrush and puts it back.
i love routines. almost as much as love making lists.
no question about what's going on or who's in charge.

keeping emi busy

there are two activities that have been keeping emi busy
coloring and counting sea shells.

i decided i would set up a little coloring station for emi.
since she loves to write/color, whenever given the chance.
i change it out about every 3 days.
she use to stand on a chair.
but this step stool is working out great!
i love that it is accessible to her whenever she wants to color.
it doesn't keep her busy for long periods
but i like that she can be creative and not make a huge mess.
she is also really into counting things.
well me counting and her saying one and two over and over.
eddie and i have tripped on the bowl
spreading shells all over the floor so many times
but she loves those shells.
and i refuse to put them up or away.
(i'm gonna make a christmas ornament out of them, someday)
i love this picture, it is mid dancing.
wearing a headband (!!) she refuses headbands.
but for some reason she wanted to wear it.
she kept saying pretty while touching it.
i think it looks more like a workout headband.

the next best thing...

Mickey Mouse!!
i searched high and low for some sesame street paper.
couldn't find it anywhere. so mickey was the next best thing.
it's not perfect but it will work for the bathroom.
i hope it reminds eddie everyday
that i am still waiting to go to disneyland.

i also added a few things to the shop
check it out!

zoo days

despite what these pictures show.
the zoo....was a zoo!
how do i always end up at the zoo on fridays.
i like to call it field trip friday!
i got off the freeway and followed 10 buses to the zoo entrance.
i'm not kidding, i thought of turning around.
i'm glad i didn't.

emi was able to ride the carousel.
tisk, tisk! shame on me.
i let go of her for 3.5 seconds to take this picture.
they decorated for halloween.
and i though this was a cute little photo opportunity.
except her face was permanently like this.
like, why i am sitting in between these orange balls?
and ouch, this is poking my legs!
then we saw elmo!
then she wouldn't even look my direction.
running kids are much more interesting.
she is finally happy to be on a swing.
last year around this time, was her first time ever on a swing.
shocking she even smiled for a picture.
because usually she keeps her head down.
like if she looks up, she might be sick.
while at the playground at the zoo.
she found some kids to watch.
she's definitely a people watcher.
surprised it made noise, i guess.
i love her ...did you see/hear that? face.
is it silly i waited by the hippopotamus exhibit
which is right before the gorilla exhibit
before we went to the gorilla/monkey exhibit...
because she was eating a banana...ha!
i know this is a picture of her eating chips, not a banana
it didn't matter though.
because it was field trip friday
and we couldn't even see the gorillas
through the crowd of people/kids.
we still had a good time.

the penguin exhibit was the best...
we walked in, and there were about 10, twelve year olds
yelling, jump! jump! jump! to this one little penguin
i can't wait to go on school field trips.
