weekly update {14}

what a boring week...it was spring break

we didn't do a whole lot. just a bunch of unpacking.

i love when eddie is home.

it's nice to have someone else to help read books

dare i say this ?!? sometimes i get sick of reading 20 books a day

i tell her to read them herself, and she states the obvious

she doesn't know how to read.

and if i try skipping a page or reading my edited version

she totally calls me out.

i love that she loves books

but sometimes i have other things to get done.

maybe i'm weird. who knows.

we babysat again this week.

and last time we babysat, the older sister convinced emi

that she and ethan were going to get married

so what happens within 5 minutes of us being there?

they totally hold hands!!

 he even leaned in and say i love you emi

i was dying laughing.

i can not tell you how many times i've heard

i gonna marry ethan mama! this week.

i tried explaining he doesn't like to share, he hits and bites

but she doesn't care or understand.

she did say one time that they were gonna get married in the temple.

that made me a little proud and a little ok with the situation.

 this night she went to sleep with bullseye and jessie.

but woke up at 2:30 for some reason

came into our room, i said get in our bed...she slept there for a while

kicking me, stealing my covers

all of which went un-noticed by eddie

finally at 4am, i carried her back into her bed

she explains to me, she dropped her beloved spotted dog

somewhere off the side of the bed

duh, that is why she came in at 2:30

so like any half asleep person would do

i toss off all her princesses from her chair

i couldn't find the dumb dog anywhere

she finally let me know she dropped him behind the chair.

what she was doing with the dog at 2:29, beats me

so i find the dang dog. now i'm wide awake. lucky me.

i go to leave, and she explains i need to clean up the dolls.

you serious!? she is a neat freak.

which is really great but can be really annoying

when she has to clean up her room before she can do anything else.

so off to bed i went, wide awake.

i probably fell asleep 45 minutes later, only to have eddie 

wake up and get ready for work an hour later.

the one good thing from our horrible night.

she took a nap! and i might have too :)

i couldn't nap for very long so i decided to sneak out

and get some thing done around the house.

and hour later, mom!!!

i don't rush in but kind of hurry by the tone of her voice.

i was in trouble, ha!

she explained to me i was suppose to be taking a nap with her.

i laid back down, giggling to myself.

she is so dang bossy, just like her mama. 

she is meant to be the oldest bossy... i'm in charge child.

 emi and i have been going for a walk daily around our new neighborhood.

we live on a court, so we are able to walk down the driveway

around the court and back to the house.

we didn't know it but the neighbors across the street have a dog

kind of a guard dog, well by his bark he is

but when we walked back down the court, kind of trying to avoid him

i noticed he has got to be at least 12-15 years old.

he was walking so slow towards us, kind of limping

and eventually tuckered out on the grass

i had to laugh, i was a little nervous to go by him again

not knowing if he would try to attack us.

i even mentioned to emi, she might need to hold on tight

cause i might need to run by the dog real fast

in which she said, yeah he isn't a very happy dog.

oh emi and her "homework"

everyday, she has to do her homework which is great

but she is totally wasting the pages in the workbooks

because she isn't there yet, this one she was

and why will she not even try to color the circle. drives me nuts.

this workbook also gave her, her first paper cut

she told me the book ate her!

she is seriously hilarious. then she stated she needed a bam-baid. 

i love when she says that.

eddie only had to work a half day so we went to lunch and the mall.

only took us almost 2 hours to get there. blah!

there were multiple accidents on the freeway

plus only certain ways to detour because we had to cross a river

and everyone else seemed to choose the same detour as us.

 we were starving and crabby by the time we arrived

so we decided to go to leatherby's for lunch and ice cream.

i like how they are basically making the same face.

momo and poppy sent us some easter treats.

sad! they totally melted. it was warm but i didn't think that warm

i just popped them into the freezer.

i feel so bad. but it's ok...they will still taste the same.

i did have to laugh when emi saw it was chocolate colored

and was all excited it might be chocolate bunny, like in her easter books

then i pulled it out because momo bubble wrapped them

thinking they might break :)

emi was like, uh what is it?!?

i explained an easter bunny and two easter eggs.

she was like, uh no! it's a bag of chocolate.

an easter egg hunt

today was our ward easter egg hunt for the primary.

our silly emi.

gus-gus...his name is gus but she calls him gus-gus like cinderella

she was a little bossy with him today

he is one of the younger kids in primary

and emi is one of the older ones, so she kind of babies him

at one point they had to stand and wait and he kept going

and she wiped him right back!

luckily his mom was taking care of her brand new baby

and didn't notice him getting whip lash!

emi was on a mission, for purple and pink eggs only.

eventually she decided she didn't care what color it was.

as long as it made a rattling sound when she giggled it.

eddie went and helped set up earlier in the morning.

he suggested she wear her boots since the grass was a little muddy

it wasn't muddy by 11am, but she sure looked cute in her boots.

emi loved the easter egg hunt!

 

on a side note, we went to 'see' the easter bunny at the mall this week

emi was a little nervous, we explained she could just wave from afar

luckily he saw us and waved back ...and all was good

but even better she was satisfied with just a wave because the line was a mile long.

weekly update {13}

we are still drowning in boxes

but i had to laugh, on sunday before we set up the table

this was the table. emi ate all meals on the bin until it was set up

she also likes to help herself to the strawberries.

if i let her, she would eat at least 20.

this was on monday at her dr. appt.

the blood pressure machine was giving her tight squeezes.

the nurse was multi-tasking while the machine was going

it was probably a good thing, something for emi to be distracted by

oh and she refused to wear her shoes

she made her self at home, left her shoes and jacket on a different chair.

emi has two horrible habits as she calls some

picking her nose and eating it, i guess that is two

but she also bites her nails.

and this is how she does it, covering her face

for two reasons, one because she knows she isn't suppose to bite them

sometimes she even apologizes to me and says she needed too

and second she thinks i can't see her :)

this is how we spent our afternoon on her birthday

on the swing, for over an hour

she likes 'almost' kicking me

and when i shake my bum and let her kick it

she seriously laughs so hard!

i had to include this one as well.

emi's favorite books right now, and for a long time

have been these froggy books

we have two, that i bought from the library

i decided to reserve as many as i could

six were ready this week and 4 more are waiting for us

she had to read all of them before we could check out.

see the empty spot...

since then she has filled every space in.

today she stuck her tongue out for just a second 

and she immediately said i'm sorry mama!

i said, remember that hurts my feelings?

 and she said, i know...i'm sorry.

maybe! maybe things are finally clicking.

i doubt it, but one day at a time is ok for me.

emi needed her easter basket that we left at gma and gpa's

so basically ignores everyone but ozzy

i think she really misses him and asks when he can come over and play

he's probably thinking, what the heck?

i thought i got rid of you and your headlock hugs!

i wouldn't say she is having a hard time adjusting to her new bed

maybe her bedroom...the rain is louder

there are more shadows and obviously it's new to her

but she has been waking up at night, just kind of fussing

well one night she actually sat up and was all tangled in her nightgown

somehow in all the straightening our commotion

my thumb went straight into her mouth, hitting her teeth

or so i thought it was her teeth.

well when she woke up we ate breakfast, which included pineapple

she said her mouth hurt and i said ok, i will look at it

so she runs onto our bed and lays like this

i was dying laughing, i had to take a picture.

turns out, my thumb nail must have hit that stringy thing

that connects your top lip? obviously i don't know the correct terminology :)

no wonder it hurt while she ate pineapple.

 

emi had her first easter egg hunt at school

she loved it, even though it only lasted no more than 20 seconds.

i was going to record it for the grandparents

but before i could get my flip out and on

she had collected her allotted 6 eggs.

i am excited for next saturday for our ward easter egg hunt.

and this week there were NO tears!

on thursday she didn't even bat an eye when i said bye

like yeah, whatever! see you after sticker time. 

(i'm not sure where all the other 14 kids are?i swear she wasn't the only one looking for eggs)

emi loves ice, just like her daddy!

i was just happy she was digging for ice and not boogers.

then later she clarified it was me :)

so she thinks i have a soul patch?

and i knew i had tiny ears but really that small?

i love it!! even if i am bald, with a pig nose and a mean smile.

weekely update {12}

playing catch up

this week was a busy one because we were packing and moving

along with normal daily activities.

this is emi's newest smile.

she hates all bread but will eat the pretzel at jamba

togo's and jamba are all about all i eat besides string cheese.

 

 emi got to mcdonald's again

basically on tuesdays and thursdays

she cried a little again, and i left right away

and her teacher said she was fine after a minute

she kept saying, you came back after i picked her up

i said of course i will always come back

and she said: i know, cause i'm our favorite girl

yes, emi you are my favorite girl and i hope you always know that

emi is awesome with the scissors.

i have this little booklet that has pages to cut

the lines are grey, not sure if you can see the one on her stool

well once she cuts the grey lines

she cuts the rest into itty bitty pieces.

so annoying!

emi and i worked on her easter foam craft

she seriously loves those things so much!

and refuses any sort of help.

[now if i can only find them so i can mail them] 

 emi and i decided we needed an ice cream treat one day

so we went and got some cotton candy ice cream

and she wouldn't share!

emi likes to sneak my treats

one night before bed she was watching tv

and i came in and laid next to her, she didn't even notice me

until my phone flashed to take her picture.

caught red handed....

seems like all we do is eat

that is when she is holding still the longest

emi has been begging to go get a frosty

so eddie and i caved and said ok

eddie ordered her a small! not the kids size

it was huge and she ate the whole thing.

we were there for so long waiting for her to finish.

 please excuse our messy, half packed bedroom

friday night eddie had a camp out with the YM

he was trying out his sleeping bag.

on friday i ran out of boxes

so i decided to go unpack some of emi's boxes

she loved discovering all her old toys, books and puzzles.

 so proud of her carrot.

we were out feeding rocky since tanner was gone camping

and emi decided we needed to go feed charlie a carrot

i explained we didn't have any and she proved me wrong

she showed me where they were in the garden

so i picked one, and this is how big it was...ha!

she thought it was just fine.

so off to charlie's we went.

ugh! nakie bum.

on our walk back from charlie's she said she had to pee

we hurried back, but she peed

all over her pants and stool...the worst kind of accident

she always asks me: you mad mama?

i always say yes, i think i should say disappointed.

but i am mad, cause she has been potty trained for well over a year

but every once in a while she has accidents from waiting too long

any who...we had some bread crumbs to feed the fish still

and i wasn't about to change her clothes right before bath and bed time

so nakie bum she went!

who ever gave her that harmonica

was not thinking clearly!!

she even brought it in to target where she got lots of attention

especially from old ladies.

when we bought popcorn she asked if i can hold it in my purse

the worker laughed, and i said yes i'd be happy too.

something funny happened when we left.

emi didn't really eat the popcorn while i was shopping around

as we were walking to the car, she explained her lips hurt

as we were approaching the trunk of the car

i said, well maybe you have a crack on your lip

she yelled at me, mommy don't say crap!

by then the older woman putting her things in her trunk giggled.

i said to emi: i didn't say crap, i said c-r-a-c-k

the lady laughed out loud

what does emi say? lady, it's not funny!! all rude.

i was so embarrassed.

the lady thought that was hilarious and laughed harder.

i love my little fire cracker. 

on saturday, moving day it was chilly

and emi wanted to be outside with us

problem, i packed all her sweaters and jackets

so we solved the problem by wearing eddie's jacket.

she thought it was so cool!

birthday party pictures

 i was planning on having a party for emi

but for one thing we moved the saturday before her birthday

and second, most of her "friends" from nursery

moved up to sunbeams, so she is a baby now to them

because she is still in nursery. 

hopefully next year she can have a little get together.

either way, she still had fun.

before my parents came over we tried to chat with 

momo and poppy so they could see her open their presents

 

we figured it was time, emi got a dollhouse

she loves it so much and plays with it everyday so far

we got her some more princesses, she almost has each one.

she's just missing tinkerbell and mulan, i think.

when we were at disneyland she loved this piggy bank

little did she know, we got it for her.

lucky for her gpa gave her, her first coin to put in it.

she has also been eyeing this chore chart.

what 2, almost 3 year old wants a chore chart?

she loves helping, so i figured it would be a positive thing.

i'll take her help as long as she is giving it away.

the 'no teasing' magnet is what sold me

i told her it is the: i won't stick my tongue at my mommy chore.

sad thing is, she has used the board since her birthday

and for a couple days she hasn't been able to put

a good job circle there

and she turns to me and says: sorry mama!

breaks my heart she feels bad, yet she isn't learning.

tanner gave her belle and tiana

she loves them both, actually has been her favorite this week.

emi also got some much needed summer clothes.

and in emi fashion, she had to try each article on

including the bathing suit, or bathing costume as emi calls it

and like she does every day, she refused help in anyway.

oh, this cake!

since i've been craving peppercini's (togo's)

it shares a store with baskin robbins

emi has been eyeing this cake and when someone bought it

she was devastated, and would look for it each time.

she would tell me pretty much every day we needed 

to order her pink princess cake

with a princess crown and magic wand

and every day since, she has tried to turn me into a frog :)

before we even lite the candle

she wanted to wear the princess crown.

i wish i would have asked what she wished for.

eating the icing off the magic wand.

while i was getting a knife, emi helped her self.

emi has always been really good about giving us knives

like if at a restaurant, or something

well lately, she keeps thinking she needs a knife to cut her food

daddy doesn't know the rule and gave her one.

she probably wanted one to cut the cake off :)

she was in heaven with all her princesses.

she insisted on each and everyone to sleep with her

bullseye wasn't invited since he is a boy

and she really slept like that a majority of the night. 

overall, i think she loved her birthday

i will miss her singing
