milkshakes with poppy

the one and only time i took my camera out the whole trip
was to document emi helping poppy make
chocolate malt milkshake....yummy!!

i love her and hope she always stays this silly

she thought you had to push hard on the button

loving it!

so yummy!!

 time to clean up!

we're all waiting anxiously for the yummy milkshakes.
eddie drooling over momo's mini ipad
poor guy had to get new tires last week
the first he says when he walked through the door.
i just spend $500 and i didn't even get an ipad :(

weekly update

i'm all off "schedule" but i am just trying to catch up.
we were in oregon last week and a little of this week
so a majority of my pictures from my phone
will be included in the "visit to oregon" post.
and i obviously love one child more than the other
as there is only one picture of emi, ha! kidding!!

so the night before we were leaving for oregon
makai decided he would not, could not be swaddled anymore.
and since he fails miserably at sleeping and not being swaddled
i wasn't sure what to do.
so i let him just sleep on me. after a few hours "stuck" on the couch
i decided to put him on his tummy
maybe he will sleep on his tummy unswaddled?
well he slept there until about 2am.
at first i went to bed, knowing he wouldn't roll
but terrified of who knows what?
so i ended up sleeping out on the couch.
why i couldn't lay him a few inches lower is beyond me
guess i didn't notice when i laid him down.

love those chubby cheeks.

i seriously don't get when people say their kids sleep until 9
makai will sleep until 8am if i hold him and emi is silent.
he was bright eye'd and bushy tailed one morning around 6am
emi woke up shortly after, lucky me.

skip ahead to us being home now from oregon.
makai, sleeping on his back...unswadddled
first night was awful! he usually goes to bed around 8.
well he slept until 2am which is great
that technically is what is normal for sleeping through the night
well, from 2-4:45 he cried and cried.
i checked on him about every 10 minutes.
and eddie kept asking me when i was going to bring him into our bed
finally at 4:45 i caved and he slept until 9am.
last night he woke up at 10, ate at 11 then went to bed
and slept until 5:30, i knew he wouldn't go back to sleep
and didn't want emi up so he went back to sleep in our bed.

she is giving me a run for my money
i am hoping since she will be 4 soon
her sassiness will simmer down.
she is just too smart for her own good.

makai loves to chew on my hoodie strings
i found a toy that had the knots on them.
he loves it!
and yes, makai has so much volume to his hair.
i'm trying to train it over with lotion to weigh it down.
ok...just my post about oregon and i should be all caught up
now if only there were more hours in the day :)

crooked nose boy

well his little "smashed" nose is still crooked.
that was one of the first things i noticed when he was born
not that we loved him any less. but everyone said it was just smashed.
his nose is super crooked, but also not noticeable
when he holds his head a certain angle.
weird thing is, one nostril is wide the other is long
if that makes sense. literally has a half and half nose.
regardless he is super cute and we love him no matter what.
the picture below is a good example.

not so crooked looking :)

love this boy and his happy, smiley face!

first solids

makai has been swatting, yelling, drooling
and smacking his lips so we decided to jump right into solids
it was more of a spur of the moment type thing
i really wanted to wait until he was 6 months.
he loved it!! like a lot.

after this first night he wasn't that interested.
by the 3rd night he wasn't eating much of anything
but just chewing on the spoon.
so i gave up and decided to wait a couple weeks.
well last night we tried oatmeal instead of rice
i made it much thicker (as i have given him "tastes" of mushy foods already)
and he gobbled it right up.

dirty and a bath

trying to play catch up with the blog
and documenting pictures taken with the camera, verses my phone.
mr. makai trying out his new bath.
the only problem i have run into his the faucet handle.
other than that this is working out perfectly.

he loves being able to see all sorts of things.

he usually starts out all sitting up and playing with toys
but ends up slouching and all relaxed.

amazing how entertained he is by the little spinning toy things.

couple weeks ago we had a day in the high 60's, low 70's
and emi played outside in the dirt
building dirt castles of course.

she is usually a little weird (like eddie) about getting dirty.
i think she is finally understanding things can be washed.

music makers

alex, one of the moms had asked me to take pictures one day
here are just a few of emi and makai

in the beginning we sing a welcome song
emi is at least a year old than all the kids
except for one of another kids older brother who is 4.

emi loves all the different props
this month we are learning about our bodies.

my brown eye'd, brown hair girly.
she has a little crying fit cause she couldn't get the sticker off
so her eyes are a little watery.
she really likes to wear the glasses with mustaches.

oh, what a 3 year old thinks is so funny.

and this is what makai does
he likes to throw himself back
and hooks himself with is finger.

emi and her best pal gus.
every time we drive by his house she says
there is gus gus's house
and determines who is over or home by what cars are parked in the driveway

being such good listeners.
emi was is nursery with most of these kids.

mr. makai throwing himself back for the 10th time
eventually i just leave him laying back.

weekly update

this past week i have been trying to catch up
with all things that were put aside while i had a crazy few weeks

valentine's morning we headed to jamba juice

as they had smoothies for $1
weird emi won't eat bread but wants a pretzel from there

emi painted a big huge picture for all her valentine's
her teeth are blue from a ring pop
that literally took her most of the day to eat.

saturday we had the opportunity to go to disney on ice again
emi loved it. eddie had some clients so we also had yummy food
days like that make me wish i still drank soda
unlimited amount of diet coke, yum!

he is finally getting it
makai isn't crying anymore, unless...
the sun is shining right into his eyes or he wants to go to sleep
so i try to go places when he is going to be awake
and every once in a while he will go to sleep without making a peep
it literally is usually two blocks from our house but whatever
i am accepting he isn't a good sleeper like emi.
more of a devil child cat napper.

makai loves to chew on wash cloths, blankets, bibs, etc
just like emi use to with her "sushi"

makai has been begging lately to eat
reaching, grunting, and swatting at food items
so we started solids. the first time was great
he ate everything i fed him, second night he ate about half that
last night he ate a little...so maybe tonight he won't even be interested
at the way things are going.
i plan to do a post of it's own for this but eddie was taking pictures
no offense eddie...but i'm hoping at least 1 turned out.
he doesn't know how to use the camera and most pictures are out of focus.

every single morning.
when eddie turns the shower on...within 30 seconds she is up
and ready to have her morning chat
poor eddie hasn't taken a shower in weeks by himself
except maybe on the weekends.

poor child. he thinks all the kids are crazy
running around, dressing up and singing.

emi wanted to no help with her self portrait.
i think it turned out cute.
she didn't want to make long hair, just a mop top.
