weekly update

another week has flown by.

we haven't had cable since we moved out of my parents house

a luxury emi enjoys when we go over their house.

well poppy and momo bought us apple tv....

eddie gets espn and emi gets disney junior.

so she has been catching up on tv. she could watch tv all day if i let her.

on friday emi had the 'share can'

they are learning the letter E.

so she was asked to bring items that start with the letter E.

she brought an elephant, envelope, egg, picture of an eskimo, an eggplant

and an eraser....which she handed out to each of her classmates.

she was so excited it was her turn.

while emi was at school i hit up a huge consignment sale.

i was super disappointed. just a bunch of junk.

but i did end up getting this keyboard....

i heard meow the whole way home, every 3 seconds.

not the best purchase, noise wise. but it was super duper cheap. 

growing up we ate spaghetti way too many times.

so the point that i don't really enjoy it.

well i decided to make it this past week, as emi loves spaghetti.

makai loved it too. guess we'll have it more often.

wish it wasn't so messy but he ate a ton.

those eyes! so weird to think some girl is gonna fall in love with those baby blues.

emi refuses to take a nap, even though she needs one

she is crabby and by 5, she is really difficult to deal with.

i have been trying to lay down with her in an attempt to get her to rest.

it usually back fires, i fall asleep and she just plays her leap pad.

friday night we had our ward trunk or treat.

emi decided she wanted to be a princess.

guess she'll be a minion on halloween night.

she had so much fun and even went through the haunted house.

i meant to spray paint that crown gold but never got to it.

oh my goodness!! eddie had a "team building activity" for work

bunch of bull....a friend at work was having a ufc fight get together.

he was in charge of bringing a dessert.

he requested cake batter cobbler, which requires a whole stick of butter. 

as i was slicing the butter to top the cake batter...

emi was drooling!! she loves butter. she just wanted one slice.

i wouldn't give her any. so when i walked away she started licking the wrapper.

so gross!! but i guess it was better than a slice.

finally gave this babe a haircut.

every morning and after his nap he was waking up with crazy bed head.

lately this boy is only taking one nap...grrr..

so he is out by 6:30. he will only snuggle when exhausted.

he cracks me up...he is go, go, go....all the time.

then he'll take a minute to snuggle

then he is back to his normal craziness...running around

getting into anything and everything....throwing pumpkins.

the weather here has been crazy.

freezing in the morning, like 50's and then by the afternoon it is in the 80's

so emi has been wearing "winter" clothes to school

then comes home and changes into her summer clothes.

emi is super weird about her sleeves on her shirts, so i thought for sure

she would freak out about a turtleneck, "not feeling right".

i love this boy so much! but he is trouble.

i was working on some primary stuff and he was trying to pull anything 

and everything off emi's side of the desk.

and every time i would look his way, he gave me this face.

seriously the cutest boy ever. but i'm probably biased.

emi made a pumpkin face.

she told me she could be a pumpkin for halloween.

so many ideas...not even days to celebrate halloween.

every time makai sees the flash on my phone

or even the flashlight on my phone

he makes his scrunchy nose face...this is the tail end of it

but he got his first fang tooth, bottom right.

so he is up to 13 teeth!! he just woke up one day and there it was.

mama milk drunk....he can't give it up

i nursed emi until she was 18 months.

but that was mainly because she had food allergies.

i am ready and willing to give up nursing.

and he goes to sleep just fine without it.

but what do i do when he wakes up at 4am and woke go back to sleep

crying, and making the N noise to nurse. and shaking his head yes.

some days he doesn't wake up until 6am.

but i don't want to get up at 4am. i'm scared to just quit and he isn't ready.

i thought this is hilarious, cause this is how he looks on the first side

after not nursing all day or all night.

this picture is horrible quality but so cute.

every morning makai does this when eddie leaves.

he waves bye to him as he walks out the door

then waits there until eddie looks at him and waves.

then makai bangs on the window and waves.

makai stands there like this until eddie drives away.

it's so cute! i should probably record it.

this girl has such a mouth lately.

any time i reprimand her for anything she fights me.

like she has room to negotiate. or she flat out tells me no.

sometimes she huffs and puffs at me, other times she says:

 yes, yes yes! of course, when i ask her to do something.

and she bullies makai...teasing him when she is playing with his toys.

i thought she could use some one on one time

so instead of getting a million things done while monster makai is asleep

we played games and worked on some halloween educational worksheets.

she loved hungry hungry hippo

i thought it was hilarious how she would count her balls.

and if i ever got the yellow one, she would yell time out!!

and do the gesture for time out.

she would say, game over....you got the yellow ball.

when we drop emi off at school, she usually has finished projects

so as makai and i walked back to the car, we played pumpkin head.

he seriously is such a cute kid.

gg ordered dimples and she got one.

this is from today. as i was eating breakfast while watching tv this morning.

makai was at the table eating his breakfast.

well somehow he got a hold of emi's paper and pencil.

he kept looking back at me like this, thinking he was being sneaky.

he has such a fun personality. 

field trip to fog willow

emi had a field trip to the fog willow pumpkin patch.

gma babysat makai so i could go with emi 

emi was so excited gma was babysitting makai.

the first thing she said when we got in the car from dropping him off

was we could be as loud as we wanted. silly girl.

when we arrived some of the girls were playing.

it was funny emi asked if she could go play.

of course she could!

emi and her purple ring.

when we arrived at the farm we went through different stations.

the first one was to brush and feed a sheep.

each child got to brush the sheep 3 times.

then mr. ray gave them alfalfa pellets to feed the sheep.

the teacher lady let them know she was going to ask them a question after

what color is the sheep's tongue? a blueish-black.

we then moved to the llama, goat, and donkey area.

emi and her over sensitive nose.

she is a little afraid of birds/chickens...so she felt safe behind the fence.

they were then shown a 6 day old bunny

who's eyes weren't even open yet.

emi giving will some googly eyes.

she still loves her BF hayden...

emi likes will, their personalities are similar

they both like to play tag during their play time outside.

another station was to build a bale of hay for their class.

each of them was able to put a handful of hay in the slot.

and some kids got to pull the lever to smash it.

they learned all about bees. 

they were learning to stand still near bees in this specific picture.

we also hit up the petting zoo.

thanks to rocky, emi was the only one brave enough to pet the pig

the goats were crazy but the pig just laid there.

they were told they had to smile and learn to get a pumpkin

so they were showing their best smile.

she basically turned towards the pumpkins

and picked out the first one she saw.

to end the field trip they ended with a hayride.

emi is bossy...she kept telling the other kids to sit down.

it was funny...and to stop throwing hay.

before we left i took a few pictures.

emi was done with pictures by then.

hopefully when we go back with eddie and makai i can get some good ones.

i thought this was funny. she was too short.

i dug up the previous years. my how she has grown.

i need a new halloween shirt idea.

the capitol and apple hill

saturday we had a fun filled day and ventured downtown

momo and poppy had never been to old sac nor the capitol.

for some reason i never pulled out the camera while in old sac

i was scoping out some picture taking sights to come back to.

but i did take some pictures of emi while at the capital.

she calls this her princess pose.

makai loved the freedom of running around.

i wanted to try to take some pictures of him, over the shoulder

but he was not having any of it.

he just wanted to run. who can blame him?

after walking around old sac and then the capitol we all were thirsty.

for some reason, i thought this picture was hilarious.

proof eddie was there. he was in charge of the backpack....and stair guard.

emi found a tree to climb and was so proud of herself.

makai wanted in on the action as well.

i am sure he will be a great tree climber.

he has a thing for sticking his finger as far up your nose as possible

it's his little trick for you to let him down.

didn't work, so pushing off of eddie was his next plan.

that didn't work either.

sunday we decided to head up to apple hill for some family fun

turned out to be quite opposite.

the traffic was horrible, we were all hungry for lunch

due to the unexpected traffic

then once we got there, it was a mad house.

i love that i got a few cute pictures of emi.

waiting for momo while she checked out all the craft booths.

i might need to blow this one up real big.

emi wanted to climb on all the huge pumpkins.

while the guys waited in a ridiculously long line for some apple pie

emi ran up and down the hill at the little pond.

there were these funny looking ducks. they looked like they had afros.

running full speed up the hill. she cracks me up.

makai watched emi and probably wished he could get out and run with her.

eventually i tried to take some pictures of him at the tiny pumpkin patch.

i hope to go to fog willow to try again. and we need to work on the sibling picture.

emi is such a good sport for mister wiggle.

he just wants to be on the move constantly.

i love how this picture turned out as well.
