weekly update

this kid seriously cracks me up.

we were out running errands....

he screams and cries until emi hands over the princess book.

it's actually a book on CD, the hole is where the CD goes.

emi said: ahh! i wish i thought of that.

and then they laughed the whole way home taking turns.

since this picture he balances the book on his head.

the kids lover homemade bean burritos

but man! they are messy. well makai's is anyways.

and i never understand why i forget to put a bib on him.

if something is sticky i will but never messy stuff.

oh my goodness. this little turd.

she is laughing at the outfit she has on. kidding.

she wouldn't smile...this was her smart-alec (made up word) face.

lately she just wants her hair down...in her face.

and she picks out the weirdest outfits.

currently she has the most mismatched outfit laid out on her bed for school.

i'll make sure to get a picture.

i should just wear a sign that says: i pick my battles...and this isn't one.

makai has mastered the fork and plate, as in he doesn't dump his plate.

he does when he is done but not while eating.

well recently when he can't get the food with his fork

he won't use his hands...but eats like an animal.

i need to get a better picture. 

as well as one without his sister's old binkie.

russell and kailey got him the cutest bow ties!

can't wait to get him some suspenders and a sweater.

i wanted to part his hair down the middle. 

but i thought that would be too much.

goodness! this happens....basically anytime emi wears a dress.

at first i thought he was going for her underwear.

but he loves belly buttons....or exposed skin.

he was lifting her dress while she sat.

so she stood to get away from him, it didn't work.

just licking as much ranch as he could off his plate.

he hasn't done this in public yet.

i guess that is when i'll put a stop to it, for now it is just so funny to watch.

cub scouts....i think i'd rather have a sunday calling.

or maybe it would be more enjoyable if i had a son in cub scouts.

another pack in our stake was having an geologist come

so we invited ourselves, the nice thing about only having 3 boys.

these two silly kids. annoying but cute i guess.

makai pulls on me while i am preparing anything in the kitchen.

i usually just ignore him or squat down to give him a hug.

i think emi was feeling ignored, so she laid down in front of me.

so then makai laid next to her, not wanting to be out done i suppose.

miss emi in her favorite crown!!

she seriously loves it so much. she is no longer a princess.

 when wearing the crown she likes to be addressed as the queen.

weekly update

so this vacuum is so cool but so annoying if not turned off.

it has officially been locked away into the closet 

and only gets taken out when i vacumn.

new years day i cooked some black eyed peas.

they tasted better thanks to the new pioneer woman cookbook.

maybe next year i'll try collar greens...we'll see.

new years day we took advantage of eddie being home for lunch

and tanner being off of school

and enjoyed the local pizza lunch buffet.

emi only ate salad....and she said the funniest thing.

she said: i love these bird seeds!! while eating sun flower seeds.

since we were just down the street from gma and gpa's we swung by to sat hi.

and of course gpa had to do his story a visit with emi.

i found these killer boots for my sister's baby while thrift shopping.

poppin' tags at $8! so jealous they weren't makai's size.

he literally just grew out of this size. oh well.

can't wait to see baby petersen (their last name, not the name of the baby) in them.

this boy loves to climb stairs.

he was talking/yelling about something.

emi has resisting bedtime lately.

something she has never done.

she throws her arms down and growls she isn't tired yet.

except we still make her go to bed and she still falls asleep 

within a couple of minutes.

makai received a lego set from my opa and opa

he isn't quite old enough for the lego portion

so we let him play with the animals and he has become so attached.

crying if he doesn't have them all.

sunday afternoon we went over to visit with gma and gpa

gpa read emi another story from this book and finally finished it.

 scored some wrapping paper i didn't need for 80 cents at hobby lobby.

makai does this all the time while out shopping.

as we walked around hobby lobby makai was in a giggly mood

he kept trying to bite me and i was over reacting.

which i have learned only encourages the behavior.

anyways...two old ladies had been following me around the store

listening to him gut laugh. it was a little awkward

but i'm glad these little old ladies were reminded of being a young mother.

 on to the next store...and he covered his head for the majority of time.

this time he was sleepy and just wanted to go to sleep.

i don't know how i am going to get that blanket away from him.

he has to have it...at all time.

we got the best christmas package from russell and kailey.

kailey made emi her own personal crown!!

she seriously loves it so much.

and makai got the cutest bow ties.

i am having a hard time deciding which one to put him in first.

emi found this book at the library.

only 16 more days until we have to return it but who is counting??

queen emi! she can't wait to wear it to school for share day.

she also has mentioned she will wear it for her birthday as her birthday crown.

so annoying....and disgusting.

and then while i was getting his pj's together...out of the dryer.

he pooped on the floor...guess he wasn't done.

he also likes to have his blanket wrapped around him.

he just sits there...a benefit of being sleepy.

makai loves these bikes at emi's school.

and he is finally wearing a beanie without ripping it off.

this past week has been pretty mild compared to everyone else.

little stinker!! i was in his room playing with him.

emi yelled something from the kitchen. 

i went out to the hallway to see what she wanted.

and turned back into his room to see this.

he hasn't done it since, knock on wood.

nothing is off limits now. 

we have to pull our chairs out so he doesn't climb on the table.

luckily he usually listens when i ask him to get down.

i read this story which was an easy, short read.

she explained that wasn't long enough and had to count the pages.

she said: 14 pages! that's ridiculous!!

she seriously says the funniest things.

emi's first ride

after breakfast...while i cleaned up the pee incident

eddie took emi out for a ride with her bike.

she insisted on riding down the driveway on her first ever bike experience.

she did great and surprised...

all the riding around toys r us paid off.

she rode to the one neighbor while makai chased her.

then went to the other neighbors house and back.

where makai chased her again.

makai is yelling to the cat across the street.

and then she figured out there are breaks if she pushes back.
she thought that was so fun and hilarious.

she loves her new bike.

she says she needs a basket and pom poms. so funny!

i set everything up for christmas while he put the bike together.

santa came! we were so excited for this year.

as emi has understood the spirit of santa.

but i'm not sure how much spirit she has

as she said: i'm all santa'ed out!

what 4 year old says that? she cracks me up.

emi was so excited to raid every one's stockings.

eddie and i complain every year our stockings are too big

like they take a ton of stuff ($) to fill up.

i wanted to make some matching stockings.

but i am thinking i'll wait until our family is complete.

i found that little vacuum on clearance at buy buy baby

for like $5, because it was the display and they couldn't get it back in the box

super lazy/dumb employee or it was my lucky day.

either way i knew i had to get it for my vacuum loving boy.

now he has his own to push around and play with.

both emi and makai have obsessed over that dumb cat piano.
when i bought it, makai pushed the meow button...over and over
and i stood in line to purchase, i seriously had doubts in buying it.
it was already on my last nerve and we hadn't even left the store.

emi was so excited to get a minion in her stocking.

she just had to show makai...who also had one in his stocking.

momo and poppy got emi a bike.
and makai was way more excited about it than emi was.
she was excited and happy but wanted to see everything else.

 

 
while all makai wanted to do was get on the bike.

as we just soaked in the morning.

makai snuck over and was shoving the left over cookies in.

he realized i was taking his picture as he shoved it further in.

he left a trail of cookie crumbs everywhere he went.

he seriously will eat any type of dessert.

i still can't get emi to eat anything with sprinkles.

cookies, cakes, pies, jello and pudding...she hates it all.

ice cream and popsicles she likes, weirdo.

just vacuuming up his cookie crumbs.

it actually has a suction option and the beads circulate when turned on.

after a little while we finally started to open presents.

emi was so happy and surprised with this gift from momo and poppy.

she actually sleeps with each character at night.

i got a killer deal on some slippers.
so they each got new slippers. makai loved his.

emi loved her as well, she loves lambie.

oh yeah and mr. ozzy joined us for presents.

emi was so nice to help makai open his presents.

makai loves music so this is the prefect gift for him.

emi had to try out her new roller skates santa brought her.

i thought it was hilarious makai went straight for her leap pad

something he isn't allowed to touch otherwise.

he knew exactly what to do too.

not sure if anyone noticed. emi went to bed with pants on...now she has shorts on.

she ended up peeing her pants, in front of the toilet.

she was too stubborn to go pee before bed. 

so after presents and breakfast, i had fun cleaning that up.

merry freaking christmas to me! my job is never done.

trying out her new skates was hilarious.

i am surprised she didn't break her tailbone

for how many times she fell on her back side.

we were laughing so hard.

we realized she wasn't getting anything she asked santa for.

so i bought these cheapy skates for $15 on my last trip to walmart.

her foot is at the biggest size...hopefully makai won't mind minnie skates. ha!
