weekly update

momo and poppy bought emi the cutest soccer outfit.

i love that she dresses herself. i just have to help tie her cleats.

monkey see, monkey do.

pretty impressive.

one early morning we hit up sam's club.

emi always wants her picture taken on the couches.

another i want out of my crib night.

instead of waking up at 6am, this was at 2am.

he just wanted out on the couch.

and i just wanted to lay in my bed.

ugh. i tend to call makai a monster baby. devil child.

and when he does crap like this, a pain in the ass.

i guess emi called him that at gma's.

guess i need to count to 10 before i say how i feel.

he hits and bites for kicks and giggles.

he cuddles emi and loves on her...then bites her.

he does the same to me but i move faster than emi.

makai and his little piano.

i need to record this.

he clicks the button until it gets to this specific song.

he then dances too it. 

when it's over, he clicks the button again.

it seriously is hilarious.

wearing his favorite shirt again.

well, it finally happened.

he figured out how to climb out of his crib.

eddie turned it into a toddler bed....and switched it right back.

he was climbing on his train table

his dresser, in the closet.

and frankly, never even stayed in the bed.

so now every morning he wakes up between 5-6am.

this little turkey hates for me to take her picture.

one morning we hit up the park before school.

another case of monkey see, monkey do.

that was real fun getting them both down.

another car seat nap. poor kid.

another before school errand.

he held that to his face for a straight minute.

when i showed him the picture he screamed real loud.

this is what happens when you climb out of your crib at 5am

and refuse to go back to sleep.

you fall asleep on the couch while watching sesame street.

luckily he transfers well.

i was able to put him in his car seat without him waking up.

since he fell asleep about 15 minutes before we had to leave to pick up emi.

the zoo

the first chance makai and i had we high-tailed it to the zoo.

we dropped emi off, picked up lunch and off we went.

makai loves reptiles! like loves them.

he is so funny about lizards and snakes in trees.

he thinks they are sleeping i think.

i love that he knows where to take pictures.

for every kid that did the same. 

he would stand in front. i had to move him every time.

i would have taken a picture but the parents seemed annoyed.

he is so interested in all the animals.

he cracks me up.

he did have his arms up.

but by the time i took a picture he was done doing that.

he loves to see the animals eat.

he makes a yummy sound and rubs his tummy.

he is so funny.

emi always wants her picture taken in front of this as well.

so he just backs himself up waiting for a picture.

he found a new favorite animal, the ant eater.

it circles around it's enclosure.

it would walk back, he would wait for it to walk back towards him.

every once in a while i would go behind a rock.

he would turn and put his hands up, wondering where it went.

then it would come out from behind the rock and he would laugh so hard.

i can't wait to see him grow.

he was on his tippy toes and trying to be so tall.

we didn't even make it to the freeway before he was out cold.

i can't wait to go again with him.

it's the perfect activity to do while emi is at school.

weekly update

this kid is crazy!

this picture is him to a tee.

i have a ton more pictures of makai

ever since emi is in school i just don't get many pictures of her.

but makai is more than willing to smile.

or maybe he was happy i was sharing my steel oats with him.

not sure why i had eddie's car

but makai was obsessed with holding eddie's basketball.

makai has been showing some interest.

he is nothing like emi was.

he likes to pee for 2.5 seconds then hopes off.

#2 is gonna be the struggle, he just doesn't too

if he is naked, i let him go.

but he isn't telling me he needs to go.

or i can tell he is about to poop or he tells me he is stinky

but then really he isn't so we run to the potty.

we did the 3 day naked thing with emi but makai is like a puppy

he isn't afraid to pee or poop on the floor.

i don't think potty training is too far away but not yet.

while momo and poppy were in town we took

'the longest drive ever' according to emi, up to lake tahoe.

makai wasn't too interested in the water once he was hit with a wave.

he was more interested in chasing the seagulls.

it was such a beautiful day.

emi on the other hand was not happy.

we picked up lunch and told her we were going to the beach.

when we finally arrived she was majorly disappointed.

i think she was expecting an ocean beach not a lake beach.

so she forced herself to sleep.

i swore she was sick cause she has never done that.

he brings it to me to wear and then goes around saying 'roar'.

he loves to color on himself.

he thought i wasn't watching him, which i was of course.

i told him not to color on him arm and this was the look he gave me.

makai turned 2

can't believe our bubba turned two.

makai response to makai, kai and bubba.

he is the most craziest, active boy i know.

and gives me a run for my money daily.

i am shocked we haven't experienced stitches or a broken bone yet.

our home would be so quiet without him.

oh my gosh, hilarious.

i had to take a picture of my party helper.

just threw a cake together.

we went with a construction theme.

makai gets upset when i turn the bath water off.

so i found this thing that pumps water from the bath.

too bad it didn't work.

we had his favorite food....pizza for dinner.

watching gpa open his presents, well the twisty tie things.

he was so excited once gpa was finally able to get the thing out.

i love when he does this. it's the cutest thing.

momo and poppy came into town to visit during his birthday.

it was so nice to have both grandparents.

makai loves his new animals and has been enjoying his zoo membership.

he still isn't talking but he is making animal noises.

i just kept snapping pictures cause i didn't know how they would turn out.

he is not shy at all with kids

but with adults he clams up.

sometimes he gives you the side eye, not to be confused with the stink eye.

other times he just covers his eyes.

eddie was so nice to steal emi's thunder and blow out makai's candles.

he had like no clue what to do.

i just now realized we never had the ice cream!

we decided to go to farrell's an ice cream parlor for his birthday

this is what he did when they sang to him. it was hilarious.
