emi finished up her second class of swimming lessons
and they didn't go as smooth as the first class
i knew on the first day she wouldn't pass
as she couldn't reach the bottom of the pool
and the other kids in her class were a bunch of 5 year olds
and a 7 year old!
the other parents are like, your daughter is so tiny
then they learned she is just three.
there was this one couple that weren't happy
once they found out their almost 6 year old was in a class with a 3 year old.
they would make comments all the time "under their breath"
one dad always stuck up for me who's kid wasn't even in our class
even mentioning my daughter passed the same test their daughter did
it didn't shut them up
i hope i am never the trash talker parent in front of the other parent
so many times i wanted to say, i can hear you!
as i clapped and was excited for emi, regardless of how she was performing.
i asked the pool manager about some sort of platform
which she says they don't use cause the kids were
walking off when the teachers had their backs turned. yikes!
the first week, her teacher would put her up on the side of the pool
so that was one set back
the second, and major one was that she couldn't reach
she didn't have the confidence the other kids had
they could just stand up and their head would be about water.
so we are going the private lesson route
which doesn't start until mid july.
emi had fun every day and that is all that mattered
i love that she has a smile on her face the entire time.

on the last day they had them wear vests.
so they could swim on their own
eddie made an appearance the last day.
thank you for coming!!
this is a good example of her "being held back"
they were playing a game where all 3 other girls could stand
but the teacher had to hold emi, since she couldn't reach. oh well.
towards the end of the lessons emi would get so lazy.
while her teacher was working with the other kids
she would watch the older kids in the big pool
and when her teacher would come near, she would start doing her arms again.
overall she progressed and that's all i could ask for
she completed 6 of the 9 goals to pass...so that's good.
hopefully by the end of summer we'll have our self a fish.
