weekly update {22}

another week has come and gone
emi started up swimming lessons again
i finally gained some weight...woohoo?? (if that is ever something to cheer about)
i've had a much better week feeling better
but every once in a while i would get the burps/throw ups
when i was pregnant with emi i had to take an anti-acid pill daily
because i had heart burn every day....and i can't stand tums
i decided i would get some anti-acid pills again
to see if they help...i'm happy to report
i think that is why i have felt better this week.

on our way home from swimming lessons
emi said she was cold and needed a blanket
i said i'm sorry i don't have a blanket but you can use your towel
as i turned back to give it to her, i noticed she solved the problem
i thought it was funny, so while waiting in traffic
i decided to take a picture...which she wasn't a fan of.
i waited until she peeked thru to see if i was done to finally  take one.

emi's swimming lessons have been in the later afternoon/evening
so eddie beats us home and cooks dinner for us
we had turkey dogs that night
and since emi doesn't eat the bun, we had extra
eddie had the genius idea to go to the park and feed the ducks.

emi was so excited to feed the ducks
until she actually did and they all came swarming
she basically hid behind eddie
while also trying to hide behind her shirt
the closer they got the higher her shirt would go to cover her eyes
i thought it was hilarious, you had to be there
but from across the grass there was this big huge white duck
waddling/running our direction. he probably could have flown faster.
i'm not sure emi will be so excited next time we offer to feed the ducks.

on tuesday, i survived my first ever temper tantrum
is that what they are called?
oh man. emi has started having such a bad attitude.
like all of a sudden, telling me to stop it or be quiet
when i ask her to do this or that
oh and stomping her foot is a new thing too.
she basically thinks she is the boss.
well on tuesday i needed to run some errands with the devil child
i had a feeling things would be bad before we left the house
but we were out of a few essentials.
before we even left for the store i explained to emi we would be eating lunch there
on the way i asked...do you want pizza or a hot dog
her response was she wasn't hungry
i probably asked her 3 more times while in the store what she wanted
each time saying she wasn't hungry
well when we got in line to order our food
i made it clear this was her lunch and if she didn't get either
a slice of pizza or a hot dog she wasn't going to eat lunch
in which she yells: a hot dog i did said!!!
(which means: you retard i already told you 1 billion times already)
i was like alright, you sure? you don't want a slice of cheese?
(she rarely gets a hot dog because she doesn't like the bun)
her response was silence with her nose turned up, while rolling her eyes
like: seriously? your asking me again?!
so i ordered myself a slice of pepperoni and a hot dog combo
we go and sit down and emi is an angel child with her lemonade
i put my pizza on the table and blot it with a napkin to get all the grease off
as i'm blotting emi makes her way over to my side of the table
i then head over to put some ketchup on her hot dog
i come back and she screams: i don't like pepperoni!!
i was like i know, you wanted a hot dog....remember!!!
she flipped her lid. something i had never seen before.
crying and wailing about how she wanted pizza.
i thought: fine (everyone is staring at us) eat my dang pizza!
i will gag down this hot dog....gag!
then she takes a few bites and screams and wails
cause i took a sip of the lemonade we were sharing.
we always share ?!? why was she flipping out.
i ate my hot dog in disbelief she was really acting this way.
what is happening? i'm the boss, she will not out-boss me!
after her screaming at me for a napkin i had enough.
there was no reasoning with her and i wasn't gonna keep my cool for much longer.
so i took everything she wasn't hold and threw it in the trash.
that created an even louder scream and wail.
i picked her up and plopped her in the cart as i made my way to the door
she screamed the whole way out. i had to wait in line to leave
so i decided to snap a picture for memory sake :)
we made it to the car without her jumping out.
i whipped her in her seat, and buckled her in.
once in the car, i took a video of her freak out
sent it to eddie and drove home
while i'm pretty sure i lost hearing from her screaming
and praying she didn't throw up, she was so upset.
i figured whatever mean or nice things i had to say
wouldn't get very far, so we just laid down for an
obvious much needed nap.

almost 4 hours later emi woke up for swimming lessons.
i had been watching tv while she napped for so long
i explained we needed to go
and she yelled at me: i'm watching the news i said.
oh boy...the mood wasn't over.

we made it to swimming lessons and she was totally fine after that.
so, so weird. and i hope i don't have to deal with that ever again :)
which is totally wishful thinking i think.
emi is doing great at swimming lessons
except, she can't even reach the bottom of the pool
and all the other kids in her class are 5 and older.
her next round of swimming lessons are going to be
more of a private swimming lessons at someones home
so i hope by the middle of july she will swim on her own
my goal is for her not to drown, obviously
i could careless if she can actually swim
i just want her to be able to swim to the edge if she were to ever fall in.

i had a great laugh, at 5:30 in the morning.
my phone was dead.
emi woke up at 5:15, cause the sun was awake.
i had to explain it wasn't to wake up yet.
i came across this on eddie's phone, while trying to go back to sleep.
he seriously looked up how to boil a hot dog!
from cooking dinner at the beginning of the week.
when i gave him a hard time about it, he defended himself
that i don't know how to cook corn :)
and that i have to look it up.

on thursday after school we were headed home.
and we got stuck waiting for the train.
i think we were the 2nd car back, so pretty close.
this was her face as the train went by, the entire time.

on thursday she was in a much better mood
she even held still and smiled for a picture.

since she was such a nice girl
compared to her freak out. and we were super early for my dr appt
we decided to stop off and get some treats
there is a store on the way to my dr. office that has treats in bulk
i let her pick whatever she wanted, and worms were her choice.
she got 6 worms and ate them all before we arrived at the dr.

friday i just took one picture.
it was hot, i needed a nap
so i laid in bed while she read for an hour.
i'm so glad she likes to "read".
i'm trying to install some quiet time/separation time
so when baby m comes, she is ok doing her own thing.

saturday consisted of eating every meal out.
donuts in the morning.  in and out for luch and popeyes for dinner.
the donuts, we go to this one place.
eddie refused to even get a donut so i got two :)
emi always gets donut holes but the dozen is too much
so i put half in my bag. i put one in my mouth when i got in the car
hoping she didn't see.
then i hear...mommy! in her deep, your in trouble voice.
she asked me if i was eating her donuts.
i totally lied and said no! yours are in your bag :)
she couldn't argue with that.
eddie finally caved and ate the two donut holes left.

we also headed to tanner's basketball game
they won! yay! and are going to the championship.

i love checking on emi every night before i go to bed.
she prefers bullseye over her pillow.
i think she looks a lot like me when i was little in this picture.
onto another week of swimming lessons and school.
and i think we will be babysitting a friends baby this week one day
so that should be fun. a glimpse of life with two.

Ethan was an angel until just before he turned three. Since he's the third I haven't been as good with time outs as with the other two, but I need to get a lock on his door and start getting more consistant. Ugh, temper tantrums are no fun at all!
