last friday emi had her very first dentist appt
the previous week we headed to the library to find some books
most were about cavities and fillings but she got the idea.
somehow i told my friend i had nothing going on
i agreed to babysit not remembering emi had
swimming lessons and a dentist appt.
it all worked out, but i wish i had my nice camera
oh well, i use my phone way more than my camera these days.
grant was so good the whole time
right until they called us back, he stared screaming
so i held him on my hip, while trying to take pictures with my free hand.
i sure got lots of looks, grant is 7 months and blonde
people thought he was mine and i was big prego again!
that was interesting explaining the situation.
that... and the fact that i will probably never have a blonde baby.
back to emi...she was so brave.
we talked about taking pictures of her teeth.

grant was kicking up a storm!
is this how my pictures will be when mr. m gets here? super blurry...
i better dust off my camera.
she wasn't so sure of the heavy bib.
but she did awesome taking wing bits and what not.
we then headed to the chair.
such a sweet picture.
she was explaining what was going to happen.
and asking if she brushed and flossed.
also asking if emi wanted to watch a movie, which of course she did.
we got to wear sunglasses and watch a movie.
emi did so good! just laid there with her mouth open.
i'm sure they say it to everyone, but they were commenting
on how well she laid there, that most 3 year olds are wiggly.
at one point emi was getting suctioned
and wasn't paying attention, so the lady physically shut her mouth
to suction the drool and stuff up.
well then emi bit down in it and wouldn't un-bite it
she had to move the headphones off to ask emi to open her mouth.
emi was totally oblivious to being poked and polished.
emi didn't even notice me hovering.
she did such a great job.
the dr. said she had nice "adult" looking teeth
white and very straight, so i went on to mention on how
when we lived in KY people would always ask me if she was
wearing a flipper...you know, making conversation
then him and the assistant started joking about people from KY and their teeth.
it was a little awkward, but funny at the same time.
what if i was from KY? anyways...
his point was, you want your kids to look like shrek teeth
not nice adult, straight looking teeth
so emi had some orthodontic work ahead of her :)
we also learned she has a pseudo (false) underbite
i guess something about her back teeth don't line up properly
so she has learned to chew with a under bite.
so hopefully headgear isn't in the future.
but i wouldn't be surprised, my sister had headgear :)
i guess it should correct itself when she gets her permanent teeth.
they then sent her a card in the mail a few days later
telling her she was a rock star and welcoming her into the
cavity free club!!
good job emi!!
