what a week!
i had (and still do) a to-do list about a mile long
my week has plans to tie loose ends up on lots of different
projects going on in my life right now
i even called and scheduled to do sharon's nails
at 5:20pm on tuesday, only to go into labor around 7pm
(sharon is our old bishop's wife, who had a stroke and is paralyzed on her left side
i have been doing her nails every 3 weeks for the last year
and her son was to get married on saturday!
so we waited to do it as close as the wedding as possible)
emi watching tv
i love her big brown eyes!
she is in love with these pajamas, they are size 5T
4T is too short, she is growing so fast!
she is even up to a size 8 shoe now.

remember she was on picture taking hiatus?
well, on monday we went to sam's club to do some price checking
on some items i need for freezer meals for enrichment
she said: hey mom! take my picture. i said ok! :) and she even smiled.
by wednesday makai was here.
since makai was born so early in the morning
and by the time i was given a room it was close to 3am
of course the nurses come in and check on you and do this and that
by 5am eddie was like, i'm just gonna go home
i think he secretly wanted to be there when emi woke up
in fact, i think he ended up waking her up and telling her
they came to visit early and by 9am i honestly was ready to go home
unfortunately i had to stay 24 hours, plus some...more like 36 hours
to pass the time, eddie took a morning nap in my bed
while emi watch sesame street and word world.
she was not happy about sharing the bed with eddie
so much that she wouldn't even move over for him.
about this time i decided to shower and get dressed
something i didn't do with emi, and it helped to make me feel human again
and not some frumpy hot mess!
the hospital i delivered at has shared rooms, it's old school
some shared rooms even share a toilet and the shower is down the hall!!
literally right after makai was born i asked my dr about the chances of getting a private room
it was actually on my list of things to talk about at my dr. appt the next week
i guess the private rooms are saved for c-sections and high risk patients
well, by the time i got out of the shower eddie and my mom were packing up
i got special treatment i guess and was given my own private room.
my mom was seriously concerned makai didn't have eyes or was blind or something
because he seriously never opened his eyes but once
in his first 2 days of life...
so on friday when he opened his eyes i texted her this picture
and said: see he has eyes!!
serious miniature version of eddie.
friday morning i was hit with a wave of emotions
i missed my best pal.
i hadn't really seen her or given her one on one attention on what seemed like forever.
eddie and i decided we should take her out for a lunch date
so off to the pizza buffet we went, where she enjoyed mushroom and olive pizza
i think she missed me too cause she kept hugging my arm
and rubbing her face on my arm
she was in a silly mood, i think ecstatic to be with us.
and we are so thankful and grateful for gma
she was planning to go to vegas on a business trip with my dad
earlier in the month i suggested it wasn't a good idea
that she needed to be on baby watch
good thing she didn't go, or she would have been gone.
we braved costco on a saturday...
i needed to get out. i feel great.
so we went and got a few things.
mr. makai slept through the whole thing
not sure he even knew he was out and about
and luckily he loves his car seat, just like emi did.
i stayed up late making this
so it could be ready to be shown at church for our enrichment activity
turned out super cute and it was sooooo easy
i ended up adding some fall colored felt flowers to the bottom right.
best $3 i ever spent!
emi loves to play this game at gma and gpa's
so when i went to the grocery store and saw it
i had to get it for her.
so when she woke up this morning she was so excited.
overall, we had a fun and exciting week.
