trip to the coast

the one thing i wanted to do while visiting was to go to the beach

and to visit the tillamook cheese factory

we didn't make it to the factory but there is always next time.

sunday we headed to the beach for a fun day in the sun.

how did he get so big all of a sudden.

his feet totally hang out over the edge.

we made it!

it was a bit overcast and windy....and maybe a little chilly

but we had a great time.

when we first got there isn't wasn't so cold as it was windy

luckily we had an umbrella to hind under if we wanted.

we let makai crawl around.

makai enjoyed some sand covered chips

wish he would have worn his hat all day.

unfortunately he got a tiny sunburn on his cheeks.

i'm afraid to put sunscreen on his face since he rubs his face so often

i don't want him to get it in his eyes again.

emi enjoying her lunchable.

her first one ever.

she ate everything but the cheese....weirdo.

then she enjoyed some watermelon.

makai and niki.

he seems so close to walking yet so far.

makai loved niki the minute he met her for the first time.

someone brought a rake and built a maze.

it was pretty cool.

emi did it at least 3 times.

we're not in california anymore.

weird to think this time last year we were camping 

and swimming in santa cruz....36 weeks pregnant. not a good idea by the way.

you can see the clouds. i bet if it wasn't windy it wouldn't have been too cold.

and then she stomped all over it.

we walked to the rock...something haystack

maybe haystack rock? by then the clouds burned off a bit.

emi loved walking in these little pools of water

they were a bit warmer than the ocean.

i was all excited when i spotted this starfish

which emi was petrified of...

guess we won't be going to the aquarium like we wanted to

would probably be a big waste of money.

few coral rocks away there were at least 20. 

this one was enjoying it's space.

after the beach emi played on the playground a bit before we hit the road.

we usually eat at moe's and have clam chowder

this time we stopped at camp 18

emi was so tired and a little sassy, which resulted in her refusing to eat her dinner.

two seconds into the car ride she was out!!

had such a fun day at the beach.

she has a major tan too from the beach.
