i love watching her

she is such a busy body
and into everything
but she is so much fun to watch.

a whole lot of nothing

just....
playing and exploring-emi
sewing-amber
school-eddie

but nothing so important to blog about.
but here are some pictures for the grandparents.this was hours after i took her hair out
from a ponytail.
and right before bath time.
close-up!
she is so interested in farm animals
and which noise they make.
studying the back of his eyeballs :)
actually he was taking a break from studying
climbing though her toys
all while keeping the fish in her mouth.

piggies

today i decided i would put her hair in pig tails
just to try it out.
it was cute but not that cute.
i like headbands and clips better.and just for fun.
i tried one ponytail.
her baby hairs look like bangs.
i took it out after a while cause it looked like it was tight.
and if it was my head...
i'd probably have a headache.

first pickle

i like bread and butter pickles to snack on.
i decided i would let emi try it.

what the heck is this thing?
hmmm...that lick wasn't so bad.
ugh....disgusting!
you really like to eat these?!?
it didn't go that bad.
she actually ate some of it.
the funny part was...
after every bite she took a drink of water.

this was in the morning

before i brushed my teeth.

really i think the camera was just too close to her face.but eddie thinks for sure it was before i brushed my teeth.
she cracks me up with her faces.

eddie also claims she looks like me in this picture.
must be the chubby cheeks.
i will admit she is looking more like me
and less like him these days.

first boo boo

emi has really bad eczema on her back and legs.
dr. says not to worry
it's just flared up because of the winter.
i put this lotion on her that makes her so slippery.
i had just greased her up after her bath last night.
she was sitting on my leg
she leaned over to grab something off the floor.
her greasy body just slid right out of my arms.
and WHAM! face planted the floor.
she looked up like...what just happened?
then i saw she was bleeding.
i thought for sure her tooth bit through her lip.
but no...thankfully, just the outside was damaged.
she cried for a second when i touched it.
but then she enjoyed the ice i let her suck on.

this picture below is a perfect example
of how she tightens her mouth shut so i can't
one: feel her new tooth coming in
second: get anything out of her mouth
and third: get a spoon out when she bites on it.
this was taken during lunch.
the only time she will sit still
long enough to have a close up picture taken.
(please excuse her lunch on her face)
looks like it turned into more like a canker/cold sore.
she doesn't act like it hurts at all.
glad it was a minor boo boo.

emi's favorite recipe

emi eats homemade baby food.
~it's way easier than it sounds~
this is her all time favorite.
she yells when i can't spoon it fast enough.

chicken with sweet potato and apple

1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
4 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breast, chopped
1 large sweet potato, peeled and chopped
1/2 apple, peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup chicken stock

*for the apple i replace it with two fruit cup things of apple sauce
(why peel, core and chop an apple when the apple sauce is ready)

Heat butter in a saucepan, add onion and saute' for 2 to 3 minutes. Add chicken and saute' for a couple of minutes until it turns opaque. Add the sweet potato and apple sauce and pour in stock. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Puree to the desired consistency.

it makes 4 portions and it freezes well.
oh and if your babe is allergic to milk protein like emi...
just use cooking spray to replace the butter.

crazy hair day

this morning emi took a nap
and woke up with the craziest hair.
so i took advantage and used a itty bitty clip
(had to do something with that boy looking outfit)i swear that is straight bed head.
eddie asked me what i did to her hair.
can you also see her wings?
silly girl with her fake smile!
she touches her hair sometimes.
i think that is how it happened.
looks like a funky hair style.
can't you imagine that face saying...hum?
every time we say something or she wants our attention.
please excuse my fluffy hair and no make-up face.
oh and eddie's favorite jean shirt i wear.
(he actually hates it and won't be seen with me wearing it)
i loved this picture.
shows the love.
i love having the opportunity of staying home with her.

getting stuck

this keeps happening.

she crawls under the table.
under the chairs at the table.
through the bottom of her high chair.
the bottom of her exersaucer.
under her activity table.
i generally let her explore wherever she wants...
cause i'm always watching.
this morning though...was a different story.
i might or might not have fallen asleep on the couch.
and woke up to her crying.
freaked out for a second cause i didn't see her.
she was going for the cord.
and when i pulled her out.
she bit down on the cord so the light came with her.
never a dull moment around here.

thirsty....

i find her like this all the time.
i decided to try out the sippy cup with a straw.
it's going much better.
i leave it on the ground so she can get a drink whenever she wants.
it's nice i don't have to stand there
and hold it for her anymore.
she just couldn't get the hang of tilting her head back with the other sippy cup.

little helper

she is all over the place lately.
she loves to help with the dishwasher.
usually when i unload the dishwasher
she just stays right on the corner.
today when eddie was unloading it.
(putting him to work before he goes back to school tomorrow)
she stood up!
she's growing up way too fast!

2/3 done!

good thing i have a second bathroom
that never ever gets used.
this is where i have been storing my pinned pages.
i can close the door and little miss can't get her paws on it.
i have all but 3 pages pinned and ready to be sewn.
i made this project a lot harder on myself than it needs to be.
for one thing. i am making three books at one time.
second i am doing like twice the amount of pages.
third i keep on running out of supplies because i'm making three books.
i have less than a month to get them done.
it's been fun.
and the thought of making one at a time
seems easy!

funny girl

this was today after church.

if her socks even start to come off
or if she can get a grip on them
she pulls them right off.
