well we made it to oregon after a long day at the airport.
we flew stand-by, something i swore i wouldn't do again
years ago....and it will probably be a few more years
if ever again that i agree to do stand-by
if something could go wrong it did yesterday.
we didn't get on the second leg of the trip
so we were stuck at the minnesota airport.
they did have an awesome nursing room
and lots of shops and restaurants, but that's about it.
the play structure i was excited to waste some time
at was still under construction.

we probably spent about $100 on food
the second flight was delayed....6 hours!
and all the others were booked solid.
my under wire to my bra broke.
we ran out of diapers.
emi was a wild woman.
we both had headaches.

i will say, now that we are out of the airport
it wasn't all that bad.
emi fell asleep about an hour before our flight.
i was hoping she would stay awake
and sleep on the plane.
instead she drank apple juice and ate pretzels
practically the whole time.

then when we got to poppy and momo's
poppy gave emi a bath in the kitchen sink.
this morning he sat with her
and helped her eat her breakfast
i think they might be good friends by the time we go home.

today we went to the mall.
emi's car seat at home is still rear facing.
the one we borrowed is forward facing only.
the first few minutes she was like, sweet! i can see.
pointing at all sorts of things.
hopefully when we get home,
it won't be a hard transition to go rear facing again.

emi had her first jamba juice.
something we don't have in ky.
we also stopped by see's candy.
something also not on the east coast.
we each ate like 10 pieces in a 20 minute period.
it was so good.

then we headed over to the park
where there is a splash pad, or whatever those parks are called.

at first she is slow to enjoy herself.
but eventually she goes thru the water and gets all wet.

she loves to poke her fingers into things
this was prefect because it would splash her.

getting splashed in the face.
she doesn't seem to mind getting her face wet.

after the sprinklers she enjoyed running around in the grass.
hopefully tomorrow she sleeps past 4:45am...
more updates to come while we are here.
