last sunday between conference sessions we headed over to my parents
to harvest the pumpkins from the garden.
this is the face makai makes when he sees my camera
he also does a scrunch nose "smile" but i missed it.

emi wanted her picture taken too before we left.
she wanted to wear a hat just like eddie.
makai wouldn't look my direction to take a picture
and this was the best we got.
emi made her way to the garden.
looked around and chose this pumpkin.
this picture and the one below are basically the same, just a different smile.
funny thing is, i don't think we even took this pumpkin home.
makai had a blast roaming in the garden.
he got stuck a few times on vines but over all did great.
after about the 3rd pumpkin emi was done helping.
gma's favorites were the while ones.
gpa sat and watched while he ate an apple off the apple tree
makai and emi also enjoyed an apple from claire's tree.
cucumber in one hand and apple in the other.
and many more garden harvests to come over the years.
i think he is going to be a great helper, just like emi.
the cucumber was shaped kind of like a banana, so we played telephone.
since all the other 'help' quit, eddie took over pumpkin duty.
gma cut while eddie did the heavy work.
makai roaming the garden.
it was fun to watch him try to maneuver the mounds.
eventually he figured out walking in between was easiest.
then tanner gave wheelbarrow rides.
the next couple pictures are of that....
they were all so cute so i couldn't choose.
tanner's like, how did i get stuck doing this? kidding.
i think he liked it....i know the kids did.
makai loved it!! he is a little daredevil.
when tanner slowed down his smile melted.
and turned into, why are we slowing down, why are we stopping?!
time to load up the wheelbarrow.
protecting the stems, gma was very concerned with that.
i love this picture of makai.
trying so hard to see inside the wheelbarrow.
we got quite a few pumpkins. none that were huge.
but just the right size for decorations and to be painted.
