Last semester!!

I wanted Eddie to stand in front of some sort of BYU sign, for a "I just bought my last semester of books" picture.
(you know like on your first day of kindergarten, but he wouldn't)
So, I snuck a shot with my dumb cell phone as he was walking in front of me.
We are so excited this is his last semester.

Naughty or Nice...

I think we were nice this year.
Look at all those presents under the tree!!

Eddie made this tutu for our niece Claire. I think many more of these will be made for baby E. They are so easy to make and super cheap!!

My parents brought this huge See's candy selection. Good thing I passes my gestational diabetes test...

Gma and Gpa thought they died and went to heaven. Before they left for the evening I'm pretty sure Gpa filled his pockets. They love See's Candies.

Gma and Gpa waiting on the couch before presents were opened.

Tanner emptying his stocking.

My mom opening a coupon book from her stocking, for massages. I won't go into detail but my dad got her a massage table for Christmas.

Eddie opening baby E's first Christmas present. Baby E got a ton of cool things and she isn't even here yet.

This was my favorite part of the day. Gma had mentioned to me a long time ago that she wanted the Clapper. You know the thing that turns on lights and things when you clap.
She was so excited...

Oh yeah and I made a BYU plate for Gpa for game days. He said he is going to hang it, not exactly what I want him to do with it, but whatever.

Bad news about the clapper. We set it up and Gma's hands are not strong enough. Even on the ultra sensitive setting it still can't hear her clap. Oh well.

Eddie got a home improvement book from his parents. And I got this cool sewing machine guide book. I can't wait to use it.

This is what the rest of the day looked like, while the ladies prepared Christmas dinner.
Gpa slept. While Ashley watched Mama Mia!

And the boys decided to built snowmen.
Question? Does this look like appropriate snow attire??
Eddie sure thought so.

My dad making a snow angel.

The guys snowman. Tanner ended up making a second one the next day.

We had a wonderful Christmas break. It was nice to be together!
The remainder of their visit we went shopping, went to Temple Square and watched lots of movies.

7 pounds

Eddie and I went to a movie this past weekend. A regular price matinee movie, gasp! Which never happens...we either wait for the $1 theater or for it to come on DVD. We just aren't big movie watching people, I go with gma but that is, to get her out and about.
Anyways, we went and saw 7 pounds with Will Smith. I am actually not a big fan of Will Smith and I wasn't really looking forward to going. I had no idea what the movie was about, nor did I care.
The movie starts...I squirm and move around (I'm a fidgety person), practically fall asleep... the movie was so slow and no climax was ever happening. And then it happened. And I started crying...no bawling. I thought...these crazy pregnancy hormones and then I heard everyone else, but Eddie, sniffle. I would totally suggest this movie...even though it is a little slow. But make sure to bring a tissue for the last 10 minutes.

Cherry Filled Cookies

These are delicious.

Cream together: 2/3 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar

Add to cream mixture: 1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract

(Yes, I switched from the blue bowl to the kitchen aid mixer.)
The add together and then add to the wet mixture: 1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Then add: 4 tsp. milk

Chill for an hour:

Stir together in sauce pan: 1 16 oz. Pitted Tart Pie Cherries
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup corn starch

Cook on medium heat, stirring, until mixture boils and thickens. Take off heat.
Add to cherry mixture and let cool: 1 T butter
1 tsp. almond extract
red food coloring (optional, I have never done this)

Roll out 1/2 the dough and fit into a 9 x 13 pan.
Pour cherry mixture over the dough.

Roll out the other 1/2 of dough. Cut into 3/4 inch strips (I never measure, just eyeball it)
You will crisscross this over the mixture, like so.

Bake at 375 degrees for approx. 12 minutes...if in Utah bake for 20 minutes. The recipe suggests 12 minutes but I have done this cookie twice in the last week and both times it took about 20 minutes to turn light brown. Cut into squares and serve.

Enjoy!

To Tanner:

I thought you would think this is funny. Sorry I couldn't get it any bigger.
When you come to visit in a week hopefully we can build a snowman!!

Happy Birthday Ashley!!

First off...I CAN NOT believe I am posting this picture of me. I was like 13...bad, bad, bad age for me. I think I thought I was a guy, for real. Like my construction boots?

This is the only picture I have of my sister and I on my work computer, where it is just us two.
I was going to post this picture instead but thought...hey I copied these pictures for a reason, mine as well use them. We all have different a eye color. Brown, blue and green (hazel)...weird!

We hope you have a wonderful 21st birthday!!

Oh and by the way for those of you that are wondering. I won a $50 gift card to Walmart at my Christmas party.

100 days to go!!

(give or take a few days, depending on when she wants to make her entrance to the world)

Oh and guess who has heart burn today? That's right, me!!
After like a whole month or something without it, it's back with a vengeance.

Wish me luck tomorrow...it's my work party and I am hoping to win something big this year.
Remember last year! I got dumb car wash gift certificates for my balding car! Ugh!

Boring...I mean B-Ball

Saturday night Eddie and I ventured downtown for a few reasons, one being the BYU game against USU and second to see the temple square Christmas lights. We were a little early for the game so we walked around Gateway for a while. Found some maternity jeans on sale for $5.33 at Old Navy! We had pretty good seats. This was the view before the game.

This was the view the minute the game started. Gotta love the student section.

This is how I watched the game. I did notice a few things...9 out of 10 people were wearing brown belts, no one but me went and bought food from the concessions (in our area). But my $3.50 pretzel was yummy but not worth it.
This kid was cracking me up. He was sitting next to me and every time Eddie yelled or someone else did he would look and smile really big. Then...it got funnier...The USU team has a player name Pooh. The guy in front of us kept yelling...'there's pooh on the floor'...'he's a pooper scooper!' The kid and I were laughing so hard...it was my entertainment for the evening.

Eddie lost his voice from yelling so much and sounded like a 15 year old the rest of the night.

Then we headed to temple square and then onto Leatherby's creamery....mm...mm...mmmmm!! We had a great time, it was cold but fun to see all the families looking at the lights.

Phew...I think I am all caught up on blogging.

Artificial it is....this year!

On Wednesday night Eddie and I decided to go get ourselves a real life Christmas tree. Yes, he caved...I batted my eye lashes and told him that by Christmas next year baby E will be like 9 months old and that this year would be like the only year to have a real one, that she will be crawling around...and blah blah blah...I said what I needed to say to get my way :)

We decided to go out to eat before tree hunting and during our dinner conversation we decided that the artificial tree is just fine and that we should just donate the money we would have spent on a tree to some organization. We haven't decided which one yet...but I have been practicing my puppy dogs eyes and batting of the eyelashes so we pick the charity I want. He wants to do the whole angel tree thing but I want to do this third world country charity thing...we'll see.

I thought this picture was funny...reminded me of a tangled necklace. These are my back up ornaments in case the tree looked nakie. Growing up Eddie got a ornament every year...so thanks to that we actually have ornaments. Then also as a tradition, where ever we go we get an ornament.

Here's the tree all set up. It was kind of funny. Friday night we decided to set up the tree. When I looked at the clock it was 8:45...we set it up...plugged it in...put on ornaments...tried out our new star to put on top...which is going back to the store....it makes the tree bend like a charlie brown Christmas tree, totally bending it to one side. I thought that 'didn't take too long'...looked at the clock...and it was still 8:45. When I checked the time it was really 11:15, the battery was dead!! Nothing like some late night decorating.

I'm so glad my shopping is done and everything is wrapped. I have one more present to make and mail it off and then I am done!

25 weeks!!

15 weeks to go!
Melia, this pic is for you!
I am not pushing out at all...bending over is getting a lot harder all of a sudden.
I have been feeling great except for the occasional stretching going on.
The heart burn has decided to go away...I guess her hair is all grown in?
I go next week for my gestational diabetes test and my rhogam shot.
A lot of people have asked me if I can feel her hiccup and I haven't, just a lot of kicking and stretching going on in there, like full body stretches.

Could you imagine....

How long it would take me if I was creative and made my Christmas cards!
I'm just happy they are done.
Oh and T.G.I.F. it has been a long week!!

Meet Badger

Our new garbage disposal...
This past weekend we decided to do a deep cleaning...the kind where you pull out the couch...clean the baseboards and vacuum where it probably hasn't been vacuumed before. Also with that deep cleaning included cleaning out under the sink in the kitchen. Much to our surprise it was a little wet under the sink....and we found this beauty!!

We then headed off to Home Depot to get a new one. Thank goodness for the internet and Home Depots how-to demos they have online.
Within 10 minutes or so Badger was all nestled into his new home.

(I tried finding a picture of the Flinstone's pig garbage disposal, but I had no luck!)

Weekend Plans....

I know it is only Tuesday but I wanted to post about these two craft shows, in case anyone was interested. The first one is more funky...homemade stuff and is in Provo. The second is more crafty home things and kid stuff and is in S. Jordan.

One Month!!

I can't believe Christmas is one month away! I am so excited!! Eddie refuses to let me decorate before the 1st or play any holiday music. We'll see. I do have a 4 day weekend ahead of me with nothing to do. Besides clean my house and finish my Christmas shopping.

Thank you...

Someone sent Eddie and I the Wizard of Oz movie to my parents house. Not sure if anyone remembers from this post ....

3. I've never watched The Wizard of Oz all the way though...the flying monkeys scare me!

Can't say for sure if I will watch it all the way through, maybe one day. But I guess I should say thank you to whoever sent it to us. We have no clue who it would be...only that they obviously don't know our address. Thanks for adding to our movie collection whoever you are!!
