Squeeze Inn

Eddie and I like to watch The Food Network. Ok, let's be real here...I like to watch it, not so much Eddie. Unless it is about bacon or something. I was watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives when a 'dive" came up in Sacramento. They are popular for their cheese ring cheeseburgers. If you know me, you know I LOVE cheese!! So, I decided we had to go there while on vacation.
It is this little shack. I think there are less than 10 bar stools and no parking. There is a patio in the back where we ate in 90 degree weather.

Look at all that CHEESE!!!

I took this picture from the far corner of the building.

I love him!! That's his...aren't you excited your about to eat a pound of cheese face.

I'm not sure if they meet code on cleanliness but those look so dang good.

Squeeze Inn is in a bad part of town, kind of the ghetto. So we were a little nervous about asking the gang bangers at the next table over to take our picture. We weren't sure we would get the camera back. But we did. We also ran into the missionaries, all from Utah.

We're Back!!

I had to get a picture of the baggage claim in Sacramento. No, those are not real.

We arrived early in the morning so we were able to go to my little bro's baseball game. It was also the first time Eddie and I had met my niece .

The family, minus mom....she was working. And Melia was catching up on some East to West coast time and getting ready to see her grandparents.

Little bro up to bat.

Claire....cutie!

I asked him if I could take a picture. So, there I was standing there waiting for him to swing and all of a sudden he brings the bat down. I said something to the fact that I was waiting for him to swing. He said no, I want you to take a picture of me like this...there's his pose. Funny guy!

Strip Searched

Not me!! But this old maid. Seriously I think it is older than me.

Long story short, sister decided she's going to stay home longer. And I decided I couldn't wait....good thing I called.

Busy ... Busy

My good friend Jessica has been letting me use her sewing machine. Since I don't have one. I have been working on all sorts of projects since school is out. YAY!! I love sewing. My mom said I can have her sewing machine. I am so excited. I even called the airport today to see if I can carry it on. Which you can... if it fits through the x-ray machine, in case you were wondering. But I think I can wait 2 weeks for it to come with my sister in her car. I don't really feel like getting strip searched :) That is all I can imagine when thinking of taking it through security, sorry for the visual...yikes.

Wondering what Eddie is up to? Um, watching basketball. And memorizing the Family Proclamation, he has a bet with his boss and a friend at work... I guess. Something about him and his friend getting a tour of the Marriott Center if they memorize it. And if they don't I think their boss gets to shave their head or something. He also has been studying for the GMAT. Watching more basketball and working.

Our lives are pretty boring, I know.

Homer

Yes, Homer from the Simpson's. A guy at my work left the company and left behind this treasure in his office. I've always wanted a Chia Pet! I personally would have chosen Shrek, but since it was free... Homer will do.

Day 1, pre soak. Kind of a pain. You have to soak the Chia "pet" for 24 hours, submerged in water. You also mix the seeds with water that turns into a paste/gel.

I didn't take a picture when I put the seeds on a.k.a. Homer's hair. This is like a week after.

Homer has "hair"!! I'm surprised it actually is growing and so excited. I'm fulfilling a lifetime dream people, let me be excited over a stupid chia homer!!

This was taken tonight. I was sitting at work today thinking of my chia homer....and all of a sudden I remembered I was going to California for a week, starting Saturday. Who is going to babysit him? I called my right hand lady...GMA!! This was the conversation:

Me: Hi Gma!
Gma: Yes? ...no hello, I must have called during Price is Right or something
Me: I have a favor to ask you?
Gma: Yes?
Me: Can you watch my chia pet for me while I am gone?
Gma: What? You got a cat?!? When?
Me: (laugh to myself) No, my CHIA PET!
Gma: Oh, you mean those things on t.v.?
Me: Yeah...one of those. You just need to water it everyday.
Gma: Sure...what do I have to do with it?
Me: Uh...water it everyday. I will just show you tomorrow when I bring it over.
Gma: Oh, ok. See you tomorrow.
Me: Ok, thanks. Bye.

On a side note....isn't my new crafty family sign so cute? No, I didn't make it. But I am going to try to make a replica...that says my last name. I got it at a little craft fair a few weekends ago.

Eddie is such a goof ball. We will miss you guys and hope you will stay in touch. Good Luck in Boston and S.F.

Also Congratulations to Jessica for graduating in Elementary Education, she teaches 1st grade and is the best teacher I know. (She was in the pink shirt in the above pic)

Yay for Eddie!!

Most of you know that Eddie's major is Recreation Management. After BYU the plan is to apply to graduate school for his Master's in Sports Administration and an MBA. In order to graduate Eddie has to do a senior internship. He could use his work and that is what he did for his junior internship, but he wanted something different. More so in the field of which he wants to go into, which is the Athletic Department. So....my point is....Eddie got his dream internship!! He was chosen for BYU's Athletic Marketing Department. I am so excited for him. It is during the school year and he isn't quite sure what he will be doing. We will keep you updated. It doesn't start until August which seems like forever from now. But I am sure it will go by fast. Congrats Eddie! I'm so proud of you! I'm happy you are going to do something you want to do!!

Birthday fun!

All Eddie wanted for his birthday this year was an acoustic guitar. He went back and forth on if he really wanted one or not, even though he has said he has wants one for the past few years. About 2 months ago he sent me a link of a place online I can buy the one he wants. I tried buying it online but things were going wrong with the order so I decided not to get it. Went home that night and asked in all seriousness if he really wanted one. He said, no...it's too much money. Well about 2 weeks ago he asked me where I have been hiding his present? Um, hello...thought you said you didn't want one. I went into panic mode, I deleted the e-mail he sent me and how was I suppose to find out which one it was. Well luckily I was able to retrieve that deleted e-mail. I called all around locally to see if anyone carried the one he wanted. Well I found one 2 days before his b-day. So, I went and bought it on my lunch break and wrapped it at work. But how was I suppose to hide it from him for 2 days. So, I thought of a plan. I'll hide it in the shed!!

I had to wait until he was upstairs to be all sneaky and move it from the trunk to the shed. But it worked. I needed to hide it, cause he would obviously know what it was.

So, I thought of this plan...how am I going to make him go see it? As you can see we store extra T.P. and paper towels in there. I asked him to get me some toilet paper out of the shed and his response was, "is that where you've been hiding my present!?"

He was so excited!!
Oh and look, my tulips are starting to bloom. Thought I'd take a update pic while I was outside.

Opening his new favorite toy!!

He was tuning it within minutes of opening it. While I was doing domestic things, unloading the dishwasher, fluffing the clothes in the dryer, straightening up...he went upstairs and what was he doing? A tutorial on beginner guitar lessons.

As we were leaving for Ruby River steakhouse he said he forgot something and came back down the stairs real quick. I couldn't help but make fun of him that he was kissing his guitar good bye. He wasn't... he was getting his wallet, so he says.

Eddie got his favorite. New York steak and we also had shrimp cocktail....which was a waste $8 for 6 shrimp. Oh well, he is worth it!!

I got my favorite Steak Oscar, it is a steak with crab on top. I also opted for the cinnamon yams. They were good. I thought I was all being healthy by getting the yam instead of the fries or loaded potato, until I looked closely and realized it was deep fried. It was so yummy though.

Eddie also got a cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory from his parents. It was so yummy.

Happy Birthday!!

Eddie is 26 today!! I planned on waking up early this morning to make him his favorite breakfast, blueberry pancakes. But wait....what was he making for dinner last night when I got home from school? Blueberry pancakes! Of course, just my luck.... so this morning I went to Beto's early this morning for his second favorite breakfast, bacon breakfast burrito. Happy Birthday, I love you!

Sad day!!

Eddie's family dog Augie was put to sleep today. He hasn't been acting himself lately and the vet thought it would be a good idea to put him down. Sad day! I'm sorry, we will miss him.

Last Shindig's

Here are some pics to document our last activities with the singles ward. We went up to I think South Fork Park or something like that in Provo Canyon trails, where we had the a closing social.

Eddie and the Bishop @ the BBQ
Playing volleyball

I thought this was cute. We had this whole area of picnic tables to sit at and they all chose to sit together on the grass.

Then last night we had our last FHE. They were so excited to us, since we had been released yesterday I guess they assumed we wouldn't come. We went to this place in south Provo called Progressive Tumbling.

People jumping in the pit. Which took me like 10 minutes to get out of. If you enlarge the picture above you can see some guy on a rope swing helping someone out. Beware, the pit also eats socks!

Eddie and I went on that red thing. It is like a hamster wheel or something, so fun!

Some of the girls.

This was funny to watch. People trying to run and jump through that hole.

These are blurry pics of Eddie jumping in.

Watch the video. Doesn't that look like fun? It was...I did it to Eddie, but since it took me an hour to get out of the pit we didn't do it again.

Dear John...but not really

My sister made a major milestone in her life this afternoon and wanted me to document it. She sent off a missionary, that she kind of "dear john'd". She claims to have just moved on and he heard through the grapevine what was going down. Anyways...not to air her dirty laundry, but it was time to clean out the break up box. One down, one more to go!

"Forever may not be long enough for this love" HAHAHA!!! That is what the missionary wrote on her "collection box". Oh, sweet innocent puppy love (high school relationship).

She is such a diva!! She even posed throwing it all in the trash.

I'm proud of you Ash...now we have a little more space in our attic, thanks! :)
