weekly update

this weekly update was from before christmas. 

i am trying to play catch up.

the only way i could get christmas shopping done was when emi was in school

or after eddie came home from work.

but by then my pj's were ususally on and i didn't want to

battle with the evening crowds.

not sure when i will do it next year.

makai enjoyed his first solo popcorn. totally worth the $2 to keep him busy.

this boy and his nakedness.

he is really good about staying down while i change him

especially if i make  grossed out sounds, like eww, yuck! etc.

he thinks it's funny for some reason, but this time he got away!!

i put him in a onesie and socks under his pj's to keep him warm.

please excuse our disgusting carpets.

when we moved it, they weren't that bad....liveable.

in the last 6 months all sorts of mystery spots have come up.

we hope to replace the carpet sometime soon.

makai sits in this chair all the time like this to watch tv.

it cracks me up that he lays back relaxed like that.

and this is when the climbing started...more on that later.

i had hid that lion in his closet since he doesn't really need it.

well he saw it when i opened the closet for something and had to have it.

 slaved away and made treats for her class.

they turned out kind of lame but whatever.

i made muddy buddies...minus the peanut butter.

i added biscoff spread instead, since her class is a nut free zone.

and had the reindeer say thanks for being my buddy.

emi and her cute flowers and rainbows.

i asked emi to draw my a flower so i could frame it.

she always "ruins" it by adding herself to the picture.

i asked her once to do different color flowers

and got a flower with different color petals.

a totally candid picture.

emi loves cheetos...just like gg did.

anyways...she was eating each and every cheeto just like this.

savoring it i guess? silly girl.

on friday when i picked emi up from school

mr. ray let me know they were sending her home with the kindergarten backpack.

which means she is ready for kindergarten!

i was excited and proud of her, as she was the first one in her class to earn it.

they had all sorts of fun ideas, most of which we do or have done already.

 

one thing i felt she needed to work on was patterns.

so i asked her to come up with a pattern with those little blocks.

then when she was done she counted them. 100 of them!!

this is makai's little spot.

he pulls out the basket and takes a seat...possibly losing a shoe on the way.

he really hasn't been into books, well not like emi was.

he will look at a book for just a few seconds.

more and more our couch cushions are getting messed up.

i wonder why? eddie was in her seat.

christmas eve we had makai's 15 month check up

even though it was a few days before he turned 16 months.

emi was so nice to help him onto the chair.

we were the only ones there, besides two brand new babies.

getting ready to go out for a job/run.

it has been so nice lately, in the high 60's-low 70's

my kind of winter!

pretty sure she said: oh pickles!

she isn't a fan of just chicken and fruits and veggies for lunch.
